How do you unlock the next island?

I have just killed Vlad and am now working for a new guy who is marked as "F" on the map. How close am I to getting onto the next island?

You've gotta do a mission for Jacob. You're not far away.

you unlock it in a mission called blow your cover. Your not too far off.
