Question about guns..

I'm completely new to gta...gta IV is the first I've owned so I'm pretty lacking of knowledge these first couple of days. I got arrested and lost all my guns, don't have enough money to buy another gun, and can't get any money from missions because I need a gun in every mission I try. Any suggestions on how I can get some cash for a gun?

Get a car and run people over. Then take their cash

 

You could also call the cops and then run them over take their guns and their car and make a get away and presto you have a gun again!

 

There are also weapons scattered around the city as well as armour.

All police officers carry guns. Just ram into a cop car, when they get out, run them over. Take their pistols, then shoot some more pedestrians / cops to get your wanted level up.

 

If you get killed, you will be taken to the hospital, and you will KEEP your guns. So just start a war with the cops, collect some pistols, then get killed.

 

All done.

Just walk over the cash or the weapon and you'll pick it up.

 

 

There is a 'free' Glock on the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian walkway...just be careful you don't walk too far past it or you'll get six stars and Homeland Security on you.

 

There's also a shotgun in the office at Triangles, right inside the entrance.

 

 

Just past the play area on the beach near the initial safehouse there's a Molotov next to a bench in a covered walkway.
