According to ChartTrack data obtained by MCV the GTA 4 battle between Xbox 360 and PS3 has been won by the Microsoft console, with 55% of all units sold on the Xbox. Of the total 609,000 units sold on day one, 335,000 units were snapped up for the Xbox 360, beating the 266,000 units sold in by Halo 3 on September 26, 2007. The game sold 274,000 units on PS3, easily beating the previous one day record of 80,000 units set by Gran Turismo 5: Prologue on March 28, 2008. ChartTrack director Dorian Bloch told MCV that sales will only go up and that the "Bank Holiday weekend should be a particularly fruitful period", so long as stock lasts. Im not flaming, I own both the 360 & the PS3 so i dont particularly care who is better and all that Sh*t But the intent of your initial post was to stir up PS3 owners, it was obvious from the very start with you naming the thread "I told you so". Sales figures mean JACK SH*T. As an xbox owner do you get a cut of their sales? NO you dont, so whats it mean to the console owners? F#%@ ALL. Bottom line is the reason there was more xbox sales is simple: More on the market = more sales. SIMPLE. Reasons theres more xbox's? It was this version of the game that they used to show pics. It is this version with that lucrative install base. It is this version that bought DLC. They did A LOT for the xbox 360 to sell in the way it did. They even got their legion of fanboys to swear it was the "better, more complete" experience due to DLC, and it turns out that it's running like sh*t on there in the end. lol. Not sh*t, but, meh, we've all seen the feeds. Played the game. Cried about framerates. And said "lol not me!" It was intelligent business, this sh*t is all trivial. 360 is the Majority. But so are Minivans. LOL. Anyway... the blindside is the fact that no matter what you do, the majority of your peers will ever understand WHY everything was done in this way. WHY the game was delayed and what impact it had on the final product. Because the majority are the very people this game was marketed to. It's a loop. Sometimes you'll get mad, sometimes you'll get to say I Told Ya So, and other times you just wish people would understand this kind of sh*t. edit: Ok, now for some fun; let's play, "what if" Just for sh*ts and giggles, a joke, don't get mad, laugh and call me crazy instead I can see it now: Sam and Dan piping in unison: "Let's hype the 360 version, brick millions of them, then make GTA a system seller AGAIN but with a vengeance for v2! Sony FTW! " That would be crazy , because last gen, you couldn't get it on xbox at first, this gen it will destroy your xbox and refer you to a PS3. LOL. ok end jokes.
