Teqila
What kind of odd jobs can a teen without a motor vehicle get? I'm looking into working without the .gov watching my profits. I'd like simple jobs in a nice suburban neighborhood. Maybe I've been playing too much GTA4. Any suggestions on jobs? I'm aware of private agencies that supply those without transportation jobs, but that puts me in the system. I'm not a criminal just in case any of you got that idea. Struff Bunstridge
When you say "teen", how old exactly? Only reason I ask is, here in the UK, temping agencies are really common, and you can quite easily get evening/weekend working doing piss easy stuff like filing in an office for more than minimum wage, as long as you're 16 or over. Often companies will bring in temps to get a big clerical/administration project finished, you get about three weeks work and then the agency finds you something else. It's not guaranteed, but it's decent money and pretty easy. Dunno if there's a similar system in the US though.
The Unvirginiser
As struff said, depends entirely how old you are. I used to sell cigs to little year eight scruffs until they bumped up the buying age to 18... try computer repairs or something.
radicell
If your old enough to drive a motorbike, try pizza delivering. Or, be a waiter or a cashier in McDonalds.

flicko
Providing you can swim, I wouldn't discount the oppurtunity of becominga lifeguard. I'm 16, and I'm a certified lifeguard, on a decent £6.80 an hour, which isn't bad considering my age. The course only took a week as well, at a cost mind you, but it was worth it. I'm currently on to do a swimming teachers course as well, which will be £11 an hour.

I know many dealers who aren't in prison. Anyway: Manufacture something out of your garage, Sell stuff on ebay, Manufacture something out of your garage and sell it on ebay. Or you can become a bootleg DVD pirate. Get a netflix subscription. A computer with a DVD burner, and tell all your friends that they can have the latest DVD releases for a low low price. But I guess you might not want to go to prison.

An odd job I do is is help my friend load junk cars to take them off to the scrap yard. Technically, it doesn't require me to have a truck and a trailer, but just my friend. Obviously, he gets most of the money as it's his truck, trailer, and gas being used. But I still get a decent chunk for the amount of work I have to do. And down here, it's 10 bucks every hundred lbs. of steel. So it's decent money.

ikeepitreal
Selling weed = easy. But, if you're too afraid to then you can always get a jb at a local store nearby within biking distance. I work at a Subway up my street, pretty good pay. Try it, dude.
phs1234
You can try tutoring younger kids, charging a decent $15-20/hour. Put up fliers online or at a local library or school.

You obviously know nothing about the sale of weed here in the US. First off I said sell weed, not crack. Hardly anything will happen to you if you get caught with just an ounce of weed. Second, you're underage, you're not going to prison in the US if you get caught selling weed. The worse they'll do is pretend they'll let you off easily if you tell them who's supplying you. You said odd job. You have any idea how many professionals sell weed as a side job? Theres no tax on the sale of weed, you make what you want. Government can't monitor your profits. You got to be one real stupid person if you end up getting caught selling weed when you're not pushing kilos of it. You sell them by the ounce making $560 off each ounce if you sell by dubs and dimos (20 and 10 bags). Edited May 3, 2008 by Prince Drac

Bernard Jazz
If there's a pub, bar or whatever you call it nearby, you could try getting a glass collecting job. Buying cheap stuff at car boot sales (yard sales?) and selling 'em on eBay for profit works for me too.

Sheeno
I'm 15 and a lot of my friends work part-time in the culinary business, but only as waiters or washing up the dishes at pubs and restaurants. You should just work in a service of your choosing though, depending on what your skills are. What are your skills? For example, as previously said, someone works as a lifeguard. If you can swim well and are good at acting on impulse, do that. I have an interest and a fairly wide knowledge of exotic animals such as snakes, tarantulas etc., so what I did was brush up on my fish and get a job in the animals section of our local garden centre for a few months. You could do the same if you were knowledgeable in the floral aspects of life (albeit in a different section of the garden centre), or if you were more suited to outdoors work too you could work as a gardener for someone. There are many possibilities...
Medaphoar
I work part time at a pizza place. Though if I wanted real money, I would buy and sell used things. Go to a thrift shop and see if you find some stuff you can afford.
Swarz
I would discourage you from dealing drugs. Whilst you're in the US, and I'm really not that bothered about stuff that goes on across the pond, there's just one thing that you should bear in mind - Who will you be selling to. I've known deals to go very awry and there to be blood spilt, and it's always a sad state of affairs picking up the pieces. And before anyone says "it doesn't happen with weed", that's a load of b*llocks. I've seen it happen. You just need one person to be a pratt and everying goes tits-up. --- AMF --- -= A joke is a very serious thing - Winston Churchill =-
