Minimap streets not showing up...

The first night I got the game, everything was cool. No problems whatsoever.

 

Starting yesterday after playing a decent amount of single player I seemed to have lost my minimap streets. They simply do not appear on the minimap anymore, so all I see are icons and waypoint lines on the minimap. No streets on the minimap, only the large map when I press start.

 

I am using an xbox 360, is anyone else having this problem?

 

It is not just in single player, I play online and in custom games with friends...all the same problem. I have looked through most if not all the options, none seem to help my problem.

 

Any information on this would be great, if there is a fix (maybe, but I doubt it) or if someone else is having the same problem please let me know so that I know I am not the only one here.

p.s. anyone else having problems reading cell phone messages on an hd tv?? its all dark and ridiculous to read, I cranked brightness, contrast, and saturation all the way up...still dark as hell.

I think in the display settings you can alter the radar (i.e: map & blips or blips only).

 

Thats how it was in GTAs past, I dunno about IV. That would be your best bet though.
