Have U had trouble with GTAIV Freezing?

Launch model xbox 360 with HDD, no problems at all lol.

 

Havent tried online yet though. Today was my first time playing, played for like... 3 hours straight.

I didn't want to vote too early, as I didn't really get much of a run at it until last night. I was pretty fearful too, considering I have a 60GB PS3, but having played for 3 hours straight, I had no problems whatsoever. Long may it continue.

Froze once at end of biker mission while putting on bike helmet - left it 10 minutes and whole xbox still frozen.

 

Fine ever since - 10 hours play later.

mine was 360/ without hard drive. i had a random freeze after about 2 hours of playing had to restart my xbox

If it took Rockstar this long to release the game, and I can see why, I dont expect a resolution over night...but it would be appreciated.

 

What worked for me: Before shutting my console I save twice from a safehouse. Reason, when I delete the newest save file from the PS3 Game Data it has worked for me every time so far...only about 6 times already. Worth a shot until Rockstar can correct this issue. Small price to have this much fun!!!!

I had 2 of the same saved games "Lure". The newest one does not work so I deleted it. The second one I saved just minutes before the other and it works!!!

Yes, freezes after first cut scene and is impossible for me to get onto the game.

Yes - 60Gb PS3.

 

It's only happened twice, both this morning within 2 minutes of starting to play. I was also kicked off PSN at the same time, so I assume I was getting comms problems. I didn't sign in and it's been working perfectly since.

If you have the xbox360 version and it freezes you need to FORMAT your HDD/MEM CARD!!!

 

I moved my save game to my mem card than formated the HDD. After that putted the savefile back to the HDD and now it runs great and never freezes again.

How do u format your HDD? Did you try clearing your cache first?
