Have U had trouble with GTAIV Freezing?

So, so far, that makes it 23% of Xbox owners having freezes, and 47% of PS3 owners.

 

I haven't had any problems - I have a repaired from Microsoft 360. I bought it at launch, it died in November 07 and has been running fine since it came back. I think it's the same machine, but I'm not positive. I have auto-save on, screen-saver on, and have not tried multiplayer yet.

Mine has only froze once, so I voted no problems because one freeze in 5 total hours of gameplay is hardly a problem. Sometimes I think it's going to freeze, but it keeps going.

I bought my PS3 (60GB) on the 2nd day of the PS3 release in the U.S. The system is fully updated, connects using a hardwired ethernet connection, and other games have no problems at all.

 

This game, GTA IV, was first installed (not connected to Internet) and then ran into the intro sequence.

 

There was a slight detectable "hitch" in the sound and video, and then the video froze. The sound continued to run in the background.

 

I tried deleting and reinstalling the game. Same result. I tried skipping past intro sequence. Froze in the initial scene while driving roughly 3 seconds around the building. This time the sound froze as well.

 

10 Reinstalls later and I get the same result.

 

I'm using a standard 480 resolution television.

 

Rockstar owes us big time.

I have a 40GB PS3 that I bought new in December. The game froze in the options menu. When I turned it back on it didn't see the disc. It also doesn't see DVDs or any other games anymore.

Hopefully its not that bad, this happened before for some reason and restoring default settings fixed it. Didn't work this time but I only spent about 5 minutes trying to fix it though, hopefully I'll get it working again when I get home from work.

No freezes yet after 4 hours play on xbox 360. I did have one dirty disk problem which reboots. A lot of games do that on my 360. I'm just waiting for it to properly die within warranty and get it fixed.

I have a PS3 80GB and I've had it freeze 3 times now. It has happened all three times when I've been in the map screen (start) and I've left it paused for a few minutes. It requires a complete power off and power on of my PS3 to get it back up and going.

 

I'm sure it's some software issues that will be resolved in the next update.

I have a 60 gb.. I only had 1 freeze during my gameplay time. Someone called me and I didn't answer, I immediately paused the game and tried to quit. The PS3 froze and automatically restarted itself. Other then that it's worked great.

My sys is a falcon, but i'm not sure which DVD drive I have.

ya i got a ps3 40gb and it did the same thing after i played COD4 every now and then for week at the end of that week. And then i returned and they gave me a new one. It seems like the newer 40gb ps3s arent working. I have yet to try mine, so Im very worried

Ya my 360 version runs perfectly, only time I have popin is after speeding across the city on the highway, even then you'd miss it if you blink. No freezing either

has anyone confirmed whether the game freezes playing on an LCD via HDMI or playing on a tube tv w/ component cables? All my friends who got the copy play it on their LCD's, with no problems, while my TV in my room has a Flatscreen tube trilitron by Sony, and it freezes, im going to hook it up to my Sony LCD in the living room to see if anything changes.

Playing on a Xbox 360 pre-falcon made sometime in 2006. Just got it back from repair shop and had the DVD drive replaced.

 

Using HDD for caching.

if you put your disk into a cd player and play it backwards, satanic words will be spoken. go try it. if your cd play dont play backwards, manuelly spin the disk backwards it should work as long as you push and hold the play button at the same time
