With all the news of people's ps3s and 360s freezing during GTAIV being played, i think a poll should be made so we could quickly get to the resolution of this.

 

AFTER VOTING, PLEASE REPLY WHAT MODEL IS YOUR SYSTEM (hard drive, etc.) AND WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT (year and month), and maybe what county you got it from and how it freezes if it does.

 

Can this possibly get pinned?

no ps3 40gb.

 

But I believe the freezing issues only occur on the 20 and 60gb models.

i have read on the playstation forums, that it has happened on 80gb even more often than the 40gb.

I have a 40gb bought it in december 2007, its back home and i get to try it this weekend. Im very worried and paranoid.

I bought a PS3 GTA IV Bundle (40gb), brand new and the game has locked up twice in single player mode. Oddly enough, this was only after finally playing online so perhaps it's part of the cause.

No, Xbox 360. The only problem I have are some 'popping in' usually when I am driving fast or entering a building. Other than that, nothing.

I had the game freeze about 3 times, for about 2 seconds each time, but then the game runs normally.

 

I have a 60G PS3.

I got it on the 360. Was able to play for about 4 1/2 hours and now the damn thing won't even load. Anyone else heard of this problem? It played fine from the time i got it until now. My 360 still loads every other game and dvd i have but that one.

I knew it was a conspiracy. All those people saying it froze on them....Where are they now confused.gif Just a couple of them all of a sudden. I said before someone sent them to bash GTA 4 for all those that didn't buy it yet. And I'm not paranoid. I bet it was EA or freaks from Saints Row forum

If you have the xbox360 version and it freezes you need to FORMAT your HDD/MEM CARD!!!

 

I moved my save game to my mem card than formated the HDD. After that putted the savefile back to the HDD and now it runs great and never freezes again.

Only problems I have had is with a crap connection Host. Sometimes when you die it takes a while to respawn.

 

Also was anybody else a little worried when they saw the "Made in Mexico" stamp thing on the plastic wrapping?

strange mate...

 

I found it out that way... I removed the hdd and it worked perfect. Than I put it back on and it froze on me... After the format the game also worked with the hdd on.

Is this related to online play? I have a 40gb ps3 and no issues so far, my console got a thrashing yesterday to. This sucks but surely R* will be able to work out a patch.

40gb PS3 purchased 2/24/08. Has froze for periods of 2-10 seconds about 15 times now.

6Ogb PS3, bought at launch, 19 hours of playtime on GTA4. no problems so far, runs smoothly. haven't been online yet.

My game just froze once. After that it just freezes for a second and it's all normal again. I have a 80gb ps3 by the way so 60gb models are not only affected.

I will let you all know if I freeze up or not. I have a brand new Xbox 360 Elite w/ Falcon motherboard. However, I see one person with an elite has had problems, I hope i dont =/
