Nobody, including me, has been able to ride the stuff at the funfair (like the coaster and ferris wheel and gocart track) so I know you weren't able to. If so what kinda info do you have to support this?

For an answer on the Ped issue:  You will not find large ammounts of peds anywhere in the city on a console version of this game.  The processors, both CPU and GPU simply cannot handle the rendering and path determination to allow more than a set ammount of peds to spawn along with the road traffic.  If you want more peds then pester the crap out of R* for a PC release with a 'traffic limit' based on the computers specifications, that is the only way we'll see a REAL living city if it is created on PC.  This issue came up with previous GTA's and the reply was much the same, a console is just too limited to handle a true living city environment, so either live with it or make ruckus and try to force R*'s hand in release a PC version.

Assassins Creeds streets are pretty crowded, aalthough I relise theres no cars but still.

You've stated the major difference right there, no vehicles, Assasins Creed is a wicked good game and they done a good job with populating it with NPC's, but those NPC's behave differently from GTA Peds as well, from what I understand the processing power required for simple ped movement and ped2ped interaction is a bit more complex in GTA than AC, add to the the complex patterns of NPC vehicles and the simple traffic programming becomes quite complex and requires vast ammounts of processing power. Almost three quarters of the processing power required by GTA is simply to co-ordinate the traffic in game, right down to car crashes, random carjackings and the rest. smile.gif

Btw yeah, I love AC too, damn fun game. wink.gif

True the NPCs in AC aren't quite as lively and varied as GTA, there is not many models for them I notice as well, still always fun to push a guard of a buiding then watch him hit the deck and everyone scatter screaming. devil.gif

R* would have tripled the number of peds everywhere (esp. Star Junction) if they could have. The reason they didn't is because they couldn't. It was probably a processing decision rather than a gameplay decision.

There are a ton of polygons for every ped + that ped's actions + that ped's physics + that ped's dialogue, etc. The physics alone are a HUGE processing drain (remember, AC doesn't have physics like GTA). So if they had 100 peds at a time, the game couldn't look nearly as good. Then you guys would complain about that... mainly, you just have to realize these games won't be possible for another 10 years and stop blaming R* for system limitations.

i was hoping the mini golf would be playable.... my wife sucks at video games, but she loves to watch me play..... but she plays all the mini golf games out for the PC and that would have been nice to be qable to play with her for at least one aspect of the game........

hopefully they will open it on one fo the expansions in the future.......

The map that comes with the game has an icon for "clubs" which is a record, indicating that this means "dance clubs"... and there is a total of one of these, in Algonquin. Galveston Ave & Wardite St. I haven't unlocked Algonquin yet so I have no idea what this club is actually like, but have you all checked it out? It's surely a dance club, right, what else could it be?

My guesses it's either a cabaret club or strip club. I will drive down to that address tomorrow.

I really hope it is a nightclub!!!

Yeah please do, I'm curious to know what it is -- it shouldn't be a cabaret or a stripclub because the map that comes with the game has different icons for those.

How do you find a specific road/address...? Do you put the road name in the sat nav or what? Instead of just clicking anywhere on the map, inserting a road name....?

I'm actually wondering if the carnival rides open up in the DLC or something, and maybe some more clubs and stuff (comedians, etc.) that might make sense

I was also thinking this... there is alot of potential for this game when you think about the DLC... more business', more apartments, maybe evening another island... who knows..? GTA 4 is just apart of the game... still have 3 DLC to come yet biggrin.gif

I don't think I'd go as far as to say another island, but I think the other things are definitely likely, maybe more as general DLC, rather than the exclusive xbox content.

Ah right... well there's meant to be 3 DLC packages for te Xbox so you never know... but id say there would most definately be more locations to visit in the general DLC, such as nightclubs, and maybe the carnival finally being converted into a las venturas style casino, like michelle said when i took her to the bowling next door.

seems possible, as otherwise there's not really any point of wasting all that space with these cool rides, and creating extra interiors for DLC is definitely possible

Microsoft paid for only 2 packages, which are episodic packages, somewhat like when a game gets an expansion, about 10 hours of gameplay, that's what they are planning. I would expect them to be the same price as a regular expansion too, seeing Rockstar has said they want to see how much extra revenue they want to get of it, as an experiment.

Downloadable content will be released for both versions, nothing is known about that yet, except that the first is coming in about 3 months.

I'm happy with the pedestrian density on the PS3, it's like 5 times more than in San Andreas, Star Junction and Middle Park have loads of people usually at daytime, it's more quiet at night which is realistic.

Yeah ps3 hasnt commented on if it will be any story content just that there is gonna be downloadable content.

I went to the only club in the game and when i took michelle there i just came out drunk no dancing i didn't even get to see the inside it just loaded that we were straight outside again.

Im fully satisfied with the pedestrian density in the game, apart from places that should be packed, like times square - there are more peds on liberty island and centrla park than in times square - that is just wrong. Everywhere else they have it spot on though - bohan, broker etc...

YOu can take Sobohoe to a nightclub but its just like taking her to a bar where the screen flashes and it becomes time to take her home.

This game is lame in everything but the graphics.

At least I can still shoot people through the car windows unlike in Vice.

the "club" is only for taking friends/dates to. you can't actually go into it. it's the liberty club or something iirc. there's this linen lounge place also around that area which looks pretty much like a club and there are always hoods hanging around the entrance and back. however you can't enter this one or do any activities either.

loads of the buildings could've had interiors and some kind of interactivity, but they don't... maybe this will come with the downloadable content...

Yeah, the roller coasters don't reall bother me, nor do night clubs, all I want is a normal Bufallo (this game only has a FIB Bufallo), a quad (atv), and more interiors, and an actual safe house, not a safe apartment.

On a side not, though, I am very impressed at how each car has slight modifications from the another car of the same model, like one might have a spoiler and one might not, or one might have a hood scoop and one might not.

There is nightclubs you can take girlfriends to, but not actually go inside and experience it. And I agree about the lack of peds. Being a PS3 snob I would have assumed it would be too much for the 360 to have as many peds as Assassin's Creed or soemthing of that ilk. But Assassin's Creed would just as good on the 360 as on the PS3. I really am disappointed with the lack of peds, it's one of the contributing factors to the argument that IV didn't really provide next gen gaming. What was so different about IV to warrant it being next gen gaming wise?

I think the number of peds is spot on. I agree Star Junction should have more, but imagine how laggy it would be?

I can't remember where it was, but there were a large number of peds on the screen at the same time. Something like 25-30 peds.

Pretty good considering how big, and detailed the game is.

It's like rockstar thought HAhaha I know.. Lets make a nightclub, golf course and a fun fair and let them do nothing with them (except taking your friend to the night club but you don't see inside). Maybe it'll all be part of DLC.

There are nightclubs.

There are just none on the first island you start on.
