The good ones are everywhere. What happened to parachutes? That was so fun. What happened to the tank? One of the best parts of GTAIII What happened to planes? I liked crashing them. What happened to all the weapons? I loved sticking satchel charges to people's bodies. What happened to needing money? I have more than I need, it feels weird. What happened to buying houses? Seriously, it was cool. What happened to the jet pack? It wasn't that cool, but still. What happened to car customization? Why keep cars parked out front when they are all the same... I have not had any problem connecting to multiplayer, but other than races there is no reason to. I enjoyed teaming up and doing drive-by's in SA:MP, but now it's pointless. If ur on foot u have a better chance of killing a driver with a pistol then them killing u with anything... just stupid. Not to mention that joining a game is completely out of your control. Don't have any teamates with a mic? too bad u'll just lose, wether they know what they are doing or not. Basically it's a great upgrade if u wanted a more realistic experience, and horrible gameplay. But this game IS NOT TRUE to the GTA experience. GTA wasn't about being realistic. Don't get me wrong, the visuals are great and i appreciate all the wonderful new physics, but when it used to be frustrating now u want to smash ur head thru a wall. They took every aspect of the game which is annoying and magnified it. This is not a FUN game, therefore i will be returning it for a full refund and hoping they port it to pc so that we might actually be able to CORRECT rockstar's mistakes again. On a lighter note, gotta thank rockstar for pushing the limits with some of the 'touchy' topics in the last game. Hookers are actually worth something now, if ur into that kinda thing. But all-in-all the game is definitely a down-grade in my opinion. Damn foreigners! If u want GTA in next gen, stick with Saint's Row. They have a better grasp of GTA then even Rockstar does now. I was doing it online without a chute and for some reason it just didn't work. Do tanks come when you get 6* wanted like they used to. The packages annyoed the hell out of me and unlocking the weapons through the story mode is much more satisfying to me than running around looking for hidden packages What happened to Rare cars? The good ones are everywhere. Would you rather spend 20 mins looking for a "good car" and then find that you'd have to look for another 20 mins if a ped car cliped you and it rolled over? What happened to parachutes? That was so fun. The parachutes were fun yes but lets be honest it was also very pointless and useless which is why it's better without it What happened to the tank? One of the best parts of GTAIII Having a tank that could be stolen was very stupid and wouldn't fit the new GTA imo. I mean for one if someone in real life tried to steal a tank getting into it alone would be near impossible let alone starting it. This GTA makes car theft a little more realistic and having a tank driving around would certainly put me off What happened to planes? I liked crashing them. Liberty City is basically New York, do you remember what happened when 2 planes last made thier way into New York? If GTA had planes in a false New York setting and you could crash them into buildings this game probably wouldnt have even made it to release. What happened to all the weapons? Money is alot better in this, you don't need stupid amounts to fund buying weapons, eating, bridge tolls etc which means you don't have to do lots of random crap just to bring your cash up to do a mission. What happened to buying houses? Seriously, it was cool. I found it kind of fun but at the end of the day the house was always the same even if it was a crap apartment or a mansion. I do miss a little customization but this game has so much more in it as a whole. I love being able to walk into buildings and look around more. You answered your own question... it is a next-gen game. To put all the stuff in San Andreas into this game with it's look and new additions (like multiplayer) would have made it too big. Loading times would have been stupid, pop up more frequent and the disk may not have even had enough space for it all. In my opinion GTA SA had too much and it was the first GTA I never completed because it bored the hell out of me. I had to drive 50 miles to deliver a package then 50 miles to get back and then if I died during the mission i had to drive all the way back to start it again. The story was terrible and the engine had become so outdated that I spent most my time driving up a mountain to parachute back down again and if I wanted to do that now I'd go play Just Cause which is also terrible. my two cents.. V41N Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 typical series evolution. sometimes an upgrade can ruin a series. somehow to me this game just simply is not the same fun filled experience. I hope others enjoy this more than I do, as I would hate to see the series fail from this kind of tremendous mistake, but it's all big business now anyways so we'll see what they come up with next. I think now i realize what people were saying about hating CJ in san. Personally i didn't mind him, but hating your character sux a lot when there isn't as much customization. Niko really needs to be replaced big-time. I can't stand playing a character who I hate so much I would rather let the person he's fighting kick his ass. Perhaps with some add-ons the multiplayer experience will get better enough to make up for the time they wasted on another SP story that puts you to sleep. Dought they'll spend another cent though, but why give up hope so soon right? Sorry for my undoughtedly unfavorable opinion, but i just don't handle disappointment too well.
