My first true "movie-like" experience

Just when you think this game is cool as it is, something like this happens.

 

So I'm doing one of the first Brucie missions, gotta track down some guy and kill him, the usual. Once I catch up to him he hops in a car and bails so I make quick to catch up. We're dartin through traffic all the while I'm lighting him up with my pistol as I drive. We take the freeway through the airport and as we do I shoot open the doors of a moving truck. While we're both whippin through traffic this box van is spilling it's load of barrels all over the highway, I'm thinkin to myself "holy $hit... this is surreal". So now we're in a high speed chase, with guns blazing, with barrels strewn through our path and glancing off our vehicles.

 

A ways later I manage to pop two of his tires and light his car on fire. He bails in the middle of the highway and I plow into him sending him off the highway barricade over the other side, he dies from the fall.

 

I was flabbergasted. I couldn't stop laughing for a minute after realising what I had just seen and done in a video game. This is the stuff that puts GTAIV in a tier above other games. This stuff you couldn't reproduce even if you tried. I love it!

When you chase Faustin up onto the rooftop and are about to kill him. It's pouring with rain, just me and him. He's giving some speech, and then i shoot him right in the stomach. It just took one shot in the stomach, and he staggered backwards and fell over the edge. It looked like a scene from a movie, it was epic. I was absolutely stunned at the quality of gameplay.

heh... i just gave him two loads of buckshot and almost sent him off the ledge... no big speech, no cutscene, no nothing...

Loving every story in those forums. I dont know if I can survive another day with just reading about it. Darn why has this 1st of May have to be tomorrow, delays my friggin' game .

Here's one that was awesome:

 

I was in the diner, going on the gay date with the guy from the internet, French Tom I think... Anyway, two minutes into him talking to me I was ready for him to die. Hopping out of the seat, he looked to me all offended, until I pulled my pistol out. He then darted for it, and thanks to the stupid auto targeting, I popped a innocent by mistake in the face. The force of the bullet drove him back OVER HIS GOD DAMNED seat and toppling over backwards. I then unloaded into French's back, and watched him squirm, only to have his Mobster buddies bust in and shoot at me. Made it out just as the cops came.
