Xbox 360: Disc unreadable error

Recommended Posts

OMG. So I played GTA IV all last night then I came to play on it about half an hour ago and then half way through a mission, I get a f*cking disc unreadable error.

I went to MS website, they reckon I should try deleting the save game as it might be corrupt.

I don't really wanna do it since I spent so many hours yesterday.

It's f*cking ridiculous, if that doesn't fix it, who knows how long it'll be til i get a new disc.

I'm so pissed off right now.

Anyone got any advice? Has this happened to anyone else with IV yet??

Thanks

I fixed it!

Okay, I followed the instructions on the website (see below) all I did was load up 3 different games one after the other then tried GTA again and it works.

One game, DVD, or CD, consistently

1. Turn console off and then on.

2. Clean the disc and examine it for flaws or scratches.

3. Delete the appropriate saved games. See Note 1.

Copy a saved game to a Memory Unit (MU) if you have one available.

4. Try three other games, and then try the original game again.

5. Try the game on another console if possible.

6. Replace the disc at retailer.

7. Repair the console.

So if anyone else gets this error make sure you try this before you go deleting your save game/ buying a new copy.

Hope this can help someone else.
