Still, it detracts little from the gameplay, which is something that must be experienced first-hand to fully enjoy and comprehend. To view a few cursory screenshots and/or videos and debunk the game is foolish and ill-advised. One of the most enjoyable titles I've had the pleasure of playing for quite sometime. I know that the more I play it, the more it will blow my expectations out of the water. This game just has that much quality and potential that I'm yet to unlock. I thought I'd be able to get drunk alone. I thought I'd be able to do lots of stuff that are just missing. So, the whole 'free roaming' aspect of other GTAs feels a little disconnected in this one to me. But it's definitely starting to grow on me, and I can't wait to get home and play more. Also, my wife actually said she wanted to learn how to play--and she's never said that about ANY video game...so it has SOMETHING interesting! Just try it PS3 users and you will see. The graphics are not "sharp" enough. There are too many graphics errors on the PS3 version. I havent seen the X360 version. Id rather have sharp graphics, then the blurry stuff seen here. The driving controls and physics are not very good. They are too much trying to be realistic. Its not "fun". The whole driving action seems slow because of it. While taking turns, the camera is too slow to come behind the car, so you cant see the corner too good. NO DASHBOARD VIEW They took out paramedic and firemen missions Fighting is not tight enough The frames per second can get sluggish because so much stuff is going on Day/night cycle is still too fast. Id rather have it slower, so that days and nights last longer. Good things: High production values Probably interesting story GTA Humour SUPERB ANIMATIONS OF NPCS ETC.... Some fantastic stuff, like the doors of cars being real in-game objects. Interesting characters Just see, play this game for a long time, then load GTA SA or VC and see the diference. I can already say that the driving in the previous GTAs was more accurate, tight, arcadey and FUN. But GTA IV is what it is, we have to take it as it is. No changing it. You have to take the game slow, then it will probably grow on you. Hats down to the Rockstar guys, they have done an amazing job non the less. No game is perfect. Not even GTA IV. PS3 users, tell me if you also feel the controls "LAG" somehow. I think they do. Also the graphics could have been a little better, dont you think? On the PS3 they are 630p, and all kind of ugly. Sorry, but thats how I feel. The game can still be enjoyed, I just wanna say that Rockstar games are not the "best developers in the world" etc.... bananabis Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 I just saw garbagemen hanging onto the back of a garbage truck, and I also saw a pedestrian stop to ask if I was alrite after being nailed by an oncoming soccer mom in a Calvade (spelling?). I could have waited another year if I had to, it absolutely surpassed my highest expectations. Even the slightly monotonous side missions and little things, I don't understand how this game can't receive 10/10's and 100%'s from everyone. Absolutely incredible. Rockstar, thank you. But judging by the past practices of Rockstar, there won't be any patches. We will see, time will tell. Time will tell many things. Main let downs are blurry graphics, frame rate (to be fair I've been playing GT5p for the last 2 weeks ) and some of the cool things that have been dropped from previous games (which have been well discussed on here) but this is more than outweighed by the fantastic physics (I particularly love the fact that you can't just plough through everything in your car and you actually have to brake!)....I'm only 5% through and feel well and truly sucked in already and I've not even ventured online yet. The only thing I found I disliked, when you are driving along and going about 50 and you try and turn a corner it is very difficult not to crash like hell!. Also, I like the realism of damage to cars like when you tap the light goes out on their car. I thing the shooting aspect is great, shoot them in the leg and they fall over, great. Or shooting them in the arm and they drop their gun. Also seeing the Police out side the nick. We can go into most buildings but why can't we go into the Police stations? Wheres the fire station? AGAIN people speculated, trying to find this god dang review, sorry... They're the 2 most wanted features i could wan't, nothing like killing someone putting their body in your trunk, and dumping it, or kidnapping! and the dash view woulda been great...see my G.P.S in action! other than them 2, THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER. Edit: i have completed the main story, so i am apsolutely 100% posotive that these features are not in the game, except the trunk is used about 3 times in missions only...on a posotive note, i APSOLUTELY ADORE the phone feature, singleplayer and multi, a slight spoiler here...but nothing like calling a certain friend and asking for a bomb you can place on any car in singleplayer....the joy! oh the joys! Prior to 360 announcement? No. It is nowhere near what I expected. Afte 360 announcement? I'm shocked they even got 360 to do this. Yes, it has gone way further than I thought possible. dashboard view! it's there. It's thee view with the Hood of the Car showing. That is what a dashboard cam is You may have been expecting or thinking they meant a first person camera, which was never announced or hinted toward.
