potters11
Not sure if this has been brought up before but, does anyone else have a probelm seeing the action on the screen at night? if so is there a solution to this? thanks
noblegta
Yeah i thought the same, i think the first island is meant to look really dull etc though. There always changing the brightness, but i can't be arsed to try that haha
Hayze
I changed the brightness i think up 1 or 2 and the contrast up 1 or 2 and i like the way that looks better personally. Now when its night and im in an alley or something it doesn't look like im in a black hole.

Copilot
Yeah the first city is pretty dark, and most of the city has bridges or highways over the city roads so its dark even in the day time.
mrernie
First island is dark, but I expect the second island to be brighter...
JonRenemy
What I did with the graphics controls is to set it at: Brightness ||||||| Contrast |||||||||||||||||||| (full) Saturation ||||||| Roughly like that. I know they may look a bit crazy, but it works. It seems in this game, contrast works in reverse. The higher you put it, the more "soft" things look, and it accents shadows and dark areas... so just raise contrast to bring out the shadows, and bring the brightness down to reduce the glare of the highlights It helps massively at night, and dare I say it, improves the framerate somewhat Having the saturation low also gives the graphics a more realistic tone EDIT: Please remember this is personal preference, but if you want more definition at nighttime, use these settings and tweak slightly to your own TV settings Edited April 30, 2008 by JonRenemy
StyluZ
lol funny you bring this up.... just played a Mission where you have to wipe that dude out (cant remember his name) and he runs up to the roof. well at night time this mission is basically impossible. Raptomex
Yeah. But once I screwed around with the display settings I didn't have a problem.

Exactly the same here, I saw no stairs at the back at all! Turned Brightness and Contrast up to max, looks much better now.
Demonic_demise
I've been having the same problem. I'm visually impaired (with night blindness), so it doesn't help. I'm still on the mission where you have to save Roman, fighting those two guys and having to chase the other guy in the car. It took me forever to get to the point where he got out of the car, and after that, I couldn't even find him, and I kept falling into the water and not been able to find my way out. ObsessedWithGTA4
When I first played the game I will like ehh so dark and the graphics arn't that good. Well I jacked up the brightness and contrast and now the game is AMAZING. It actually make the textures better.
