BassKozz
I am having a real hard time reading the cellphone in the game, I've tried the following things to remedy the problem: 1. Adjusted the Brightness 2. Adjusted the Contrast 3. Adjusted the Saturation 4. Changed from 1080i to 480p 5. Changed from Widescreen to Standard I have a 47inch widescreen projection TV, and I can't read the damn text messages on the cellphone even if I put my face up to the screen... Is there a way to zoom in on it or something? Thanks, -BassKozz
DMannDD
You can make the text display to large. This really helps. It is a setting you pull up on the phone.

Civuck
Yes... there are certainly some "why did they make that choice" moments in GTA IV regarding the development team. Both my friend on a 53" RPTV and me on a 47" LCD commented on the poor visibility of the cellphone screen. Perhaps an update will allow for tinkering of its display independent from the rest of the game - just like a real cellphone. C.
SantiagoDomingo
I don't understand this problem. I have been playing GTA IV on an old school wooden box TV. You know, the kind that weighs about one hundred and eighty pounds and it is only 27 inches. A lot of the games I play on this TV I can't read the little pop-up messages, like the ones that say 'Destroy the hole to stop the horde' etc . . . but the cell phone I can read fine. I suspect it's matter of contrast ratio. People tend to run the old CRT based TVs at 100% contrast (or Picture). This may make the cellphone more readable at the sacrifice of detail. C. It was impossible for me to read. I had to get up and move closer to the TV so that I could change the options to a larger font. Now I can read it, but it's still too small/hard to read. Black on White would have been better than their Gray on Green. Maybe a patch later will allow us to change the cell phone background color. EmSixTeen
I first played IV on a 50" plasma on the 360, and I could read the phone really clearly. Then I got home and am playing it on my sh*te old-school TV which is most definitely smaller and lacking in HD.. I can still see it perfectly clear. BassKozz
You can make the text display to large. This really helps. It is a setting you pull up on the phone. How? EUREKA, I figured it out... When the Xbox's Display Mode is set to 480p, Text Sizeis not an option, but when I switched it to 1080i the Text Size option appeared... BUT now the problem is with 1080i widescreen the sides of the screen are cut off... Way to go R*, way to eff up the game experience for the consumers who don't have screens that run at 1080p or 720p
raven809
42" 1080p Insignia. which I got for the measly price of $996 and The only problem is that Its a little blurry because I need glasses. Right after the opening cut scene I did turn the brightness in game all the way up and on my TV a little bit until the darkness looked right. Gorilla
Again, this is the ONLY game that has given me problems in 4 years on my system. It is a poor design choice on their part. They need to patch.
