xNamexTakenx
I just realized that GTA 3 has a top-down view (Yeah, I know I'm slow lol). I thought it was pretty cool at first, because its like the previous GTA games (Old skool). So, does anybody actually use it? I sure as hell don't! It sucks lol! I prefer the 3-D look of GTA. The top-down view is pretty lame, IMO. But, I don't blame R* for using it in previous installments because the technology wasn't that great. But, I highly doubt it that anybody would play that way in GTA 3. Maybe if you're used to it or something. But, I would much rather have the 3-D effects and all to play. If anybody's tried it, did they actually like it?
gta player06
I have tried it out but I didn't like it because I was already used to 3rd person view so it was kind of strange.
gtamodder
I did use it for a little, but I used the 3D View, not the Top Down view, I think it made the game really boring with that view.
gamenerd
Helped a lot when my pc was slow, but now days i dont use it
SLAYERMAGGOT
GTA III in Topdown View gets a good overview to park a car, but with 3rd Player view it's more modern.
xNamexTakenx
I have tried it out but I didn't like it because I was already used to 3rd person view so it was kind of strange. I 100% agree with you! In games, I'm used to 3rd Person, too. The first GTA game I played was LCS (Yeah, I know I was kinda late lol) and I war already used to 3rd person. The next game I played was GTA 3 so I just used 3rd person again. Seeing as how I never played the Old Skool GTA games, I never played any game with top-down views, anyway. I'm just curious. Did any other GTA game include top-down views? Or did it stop after GTA 3? I never checked the other views in VC, so is it included in that game? I know for sure that SA doesn't have it. Flesh-n-Bone
Probably GTA Advance had it.
QwertyAAA
the cinematic mode in SA included Topdown. But none of the other games, I think.

If anybody's tried it, did they actually like it? Why yes, I challenge myself to perform various stunts and police chases using nothing but Top-Down. I also passed the game using ONLY the TD Cam, and it must say, it helped improve my skills a LOT.
visionist
I like tilting the camera in IV for a top down experience
Steve Crook
I use the top-down view briefly in Patriot Playground for when you have to plunge down the cliff, to make sure I'm lined up correctly. But apart from that I never use it Steve
Wanted Assailant
I sometimes use the birds-eye view for fun or getting something right. It was nice of R* including it for the old school fans of GTA. It just doesn't really work for a 3D game, as it worked perfectly for GTA 1 & 2. Also PS1 games back in 1997 did have technology to have 3D games, but it was too much power to have 3D physics for a sandbox game.
stef_92
No, I don't use it. But in some cases it is good because you have better visibility.

Yeah, I use it then too, and the only other time I would use it would be if I try to complete the game, only using that view.

This will be bery hard I don't think that you could complete the game using only the top-down view.

Barciur
The only reason they put it up isa because people had slow computers and they didn't want them to have slow game.
