This game is very dull, plain,, not really a step up from the previous games, they took so long to make it, but didn't put alot into it, and they have taken the fun out of it.

If you have already completed the game twice then in my opinion you are very dull, boring and obviously have very little/no social life. And i don't really care if you got the game early so have had more time to play, it's still ridiculous to play for such a long period of time in a short amount of days to then just moan about it.

I've had it a week, and i haven't rushed through it at all, i have made different decisions through the game, but the outcome is quite the same.

 

Once you've complteted it you'll find out, and your know what i'm on about

While i sincerly respect your opinion. I do have to say that in the last posts you made the following objections to GTAIV.

 

 

 

What happened to getting a haircut, and changing your appearance, Hardly any clothes to choose.

 

You cant customize cars anymore, get them fixed, change the wheels, and pick your colours. There are no airplanes to fly either, which was fun !

 

Also you cant buy any properties, clubs etc, and theres no gyms, which was a good thing before.

Theres no interaction with other people,

Having to date the women is pretty pointless, u get nothing out of that!

 

You cant visit vice city or other places, for a trip.

 

I'm afraid you failed to grasp that R* wanted to move away from these RPG elements (for ease I call it RPG elements), they have stated it numerous times that they would leave these options out. If you were expecting a next gen SA, certainly you should have know you would be disappointed. My opinion on the matter doesn't amount to much, and I’m the first to admit this, but the customization of your character, car, etc. etc. and the purchase of assets were the most disappointing elements in SA, since it provided little relief or overall replay value, after a certain amount of time, i started to ignore them (after i fashioned CJ as a Malcolm X look-a-like). Owning something in a game which has never made property a central theme, is foolish, the central theme of all GTA's was a living, breathing city to move around in, and GTA IV pulled this off in a most amazing manner. To summarize GTA IV is not a SA: Next Gen, it is a completely new game, which has as a central theme the creation of a breathing city and a compelling story, not a simulation of life, but a simulation of a city. While Niko is the protagonist, he is only a successful protagonist if the setting lets him be just that, and that setting must be believable, realistic and as down to earth as possible. I’m sorry you are disappointed, but you were expecting a different game and I’m sad to accuse you but I think you ignored all that was said about GTA IV from official sources, for that my apologies.

What Mat1871 makes a lot of sense...and I'm so happy they removed the tedious crap from SA in this one.

 

Seriously, if you had this game for a week (which I'm doubting) and played it through twice...you still missed out. Hell, I've just done the first ~6-7 missions, walked around a bunch and had a bit of fun and I can safely say it's the best game in the series so far, if not the best game I've played in...years. Each to his own, I suppose. If you hate the game so much, why did you play it a second time?

fair enough, i see what you are saying, but i just think these options should be in the game, and then it is your choice if you use it or not. I definetely think the custumizing of cars, a choice of your own paint and wheels, and appearance should be in the game, this is totally realistic, and would just add to the game,

To hate GTAIV you'd either have to have a really exciting life, or be an idiot. This is my favorite game of all time. It's not a panacea for all complaints, but it's close.

Perhaps, i can understand your gripes to a certain extent, but I wish you understood that GTA isn't about the customizing of characters and cars, but about storytelling and the simulation of a city. Perhaps that is too harshly put, but I think i'm going to share your view that it should have been up to the player, but i stand firm by my idea that the central theme, the core if you will, of a GTA game is not in any way, customizing and the like.

Consoles are powerful??? Don't make my flippers laugh. They can't even supply the game on 3 DVDs and had to take stuff out of it. When Consoles will at least catch up with 5-years old PCs then we may talk about their game powers.

The ONLY good things to go to are comedy shows and the strip bar? Uh...did you actually try the minigames? The strip club is pretty much just silly - unless you're 15 and still think it's cool with animated boobs in a computer game. I mean, christ.

 

The little things aren't gone - the little things are multiplied by a million. That's the thing, there are so many little things added in this game, you must have missed them all, running through the game. Twice.

Sorry i forgot about the miny games, yes they are good, but what else, you cant go in hardly any buildings, and when u do find thm, they dont mark on your map, its stupid

There may not be as many enterable buildings in GTAIV as there was in SA, but the difference is that in every building you enter there is no loading and no wasted space. In other words, no Lil' Probe Inn.

Well, it is pretty easy to understand why you are disappointed, you loved the customization of your character and cars, you loved the planes, there were all taken out, so ... it think this is why you don't enjoy it that much. R* made it clear they would move away from it and they kept their word, sadly for you, less of a pain for others (including me). Hm, but you enjoyed it, for a while ( a pretty great while, i might add), and that is great. Perhaps you can hope on the downloads and the like (although i don't know if you have a PS3 or 360).

There are loads of people that agree- but then again, there seems to be way more that disagree. So that argument goes both ways.
