Zombeast Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 The cell phone screen is too dark. Its almost as if the display on the phone just isn't lighting up.. Is anyone else with the 360 version having a hard time reading the cell phone text messages? i'm assuming I have a dark 36" TV screen, but even when I change the in game display, and the settings on my TV I still can't read them. If this helps, my Xbox is set into wide screen mode. Everything fits on screen, I just can't read the damn text messages cause the cell phone screen is too dark. Other than that... smeace Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 Are you using sdtv or hd? I have an hd 27 aquos and the game is super dark on my normal settings. I had to crank everything up on the tv and in the game. I can read it but really have to try. I think it's more of a contrast issue in the game and short of turning your brightness way up there is nothing that can be done. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I cranked all my settings up at first and had to dial it back some because at night the streetlights were starting to wash out things behind them (landscape thats not being lighted by the streetlight). WeeSmallHours Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 I had to set the text size to large, and I also bumped up the brightness and contrast in the game options one tick each. I sit about 15-18 feet from a 42" widescreen HDTV (playing in 1080i) and I had some issues reading the text. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Even on large, I can't quite make them out without getting up close and spuinting - could have been improved by displaying text messages on screen without using the phone - would have been a nice option. In one of the early missions, niko's cousin mentions something about being able to upgrade to a better phone. It simply was a POOR choice to choose those colors. Its the main interface of teh game!!! R* needs to fix it! White text, or a lighter background, or indiglo... anything!! I am looking in the phone's options, but I can't find it for the life of me... Where EXACTLY is the option to change the font size and or background color or grafix? p.s. The map/radar could have been a little bigger. The more I play the game the more I see simple stuff that could have been done to enhance the experience a little. When the Xbox's Display Mode is set to 480p, Text Sizeis not an option, but when I switched it to 1080i the Text Size option appeared... BUT now the problem is with 1080i widescreen the sides of the screen are cut off...
