sNkLanc
Im currently on a Sony Bravia HD-TV and it will not let me change my x-box settings to 1008p. The screen just goes Black and i see nouthing.. Is there any major differnces from 1008i and p?. And is there any reasons why i cannot see the screen on 1008i.
TenEightyOne
the 'i' stands for interlaced, the 'p' stands for progressive. 'i' shows 30 frames per second, interlacing the odd-numbered lines from a frame with the even-numbered lines from the next frame, before repearing on and on and on. Progressive shows 60 FULL frames per second, and gives better quality - most gamers report some 'jaggie' edges on angled lines and surfaces when they play on 1080i. XBox will only output 1080p on an HDMI or VGA cable, not on the standard cable or on a component cable (component CAN DO 1080p, but not on 360). I have a pre-HDMI Xbox and therefore bought the Madcatz HDMI conversion kit - £40 but worth every single penny. I have quite a large TV and can clearly see the difference between 1080i and 1080p. Some people tell me they can't always see a difference, but this could be down to type, size or model of screen. What lead are you using, and what inputs does the Bravia have?
