Coltrane's Muse
Again I ask: are there visible blemishes or defects to your disc? If so, they could be contributing factors.

Xböx
Well considering he said he has a liget copy of the game and not a pirate copy... he must have been refering to the 360 since you cant play copies on the PS3 stupid.

A defective disc from the outset? I wish you the best in finding a solution.

chadders42
Leave your PS3 to cool down as they do sometimes get hot if you've been playing for hours on end. Wipe the disc down with a very slightly damp cloth, see if that works :

Slamman
How'd you get a legit copy so early? Let me guess, it fell off a delivery truck and you happened by? hahaha Seriously, does the freeze replicate the ones we've noticed with games like Uncharted and other PS3 titles? I just rebooted the system and it worked again. Only occasional freezes, in the same spot. Could be the disc, but I cleaned as described below-> I clean my own optical discs but you have to be extremely gentle and use soft papertowel, wipe from center to outside the disc, while wet only, let the last bit of moisure air dry...avoiding streaks and scratches that way
