WastedEngland
Hello. My xbox rrod on me no less than 2 days ago, so i pre ordered the PS3 GTA 4 bundle at gamestation I learned that the ps3 does not come with a Component cable, Buying a New PS3 just for GTA was quite a hit on my wallet so i dont want to have to pay extra for a new component cable. I have a HDMI to DVI lead though, i know that sound will not come through my tv because the DVI output/input does not support sound. My question is that is it possible for the sound to come through the red and white cable's from the RGB lead and for the video to go through the HDMI/DVI, or is it that the ps3 will detect that its outputting through the HDMI and then void anything coming out of the RGB cables. I'm Aware that there is optical support, and i do have a surround sound system that would accept optical, but with its meaty sub I dont think my neighbours and parents will appreciate bassy explosions at 2am Thanks in advance. Tornado Rex
Yeah you can do that. 'tis how mine is currently hooked up. You just have to change the sound output in the system settings. ~ Proud Supporter of the Child's Play Charity! | GTANET + Child's Play ~

TheFreshPrince
So when I get my HDMI cable I will have to buy another item to make the sound work?
WastedEngland
HDMI supports Video and Audio, So if its A HDMI to HDMI cable then you shouldn't need another cable for sound.
