If you mean to other islands, cops kill you.

If you mean how far out can you go in the water to nowhere - endless, so it would seem.

Though, you may quickly lose your way back - with no way to actually kill yourself (unless flying).

As far as the eye can see? I'll believe that when/if I do it.

Look, games are not infinite tounge.gif. It will have a barrier eventually, or tell you if you go further you will be shot down.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was no barrier in San Andreas - you'd keep going until you got bored and killed yourself.

Correct although if you keep going the game will actually start to glitch. But with out a teleport cheat it would take a week before you started to see it glitching.

Rockstar made it so that the water texture will constantly repeat no matter how far you go which also means there can't be any secret island a million miles of the coast because the actual map only exists as far as the city. The rest is like "blue hell" but with water.

Ohhhh.

I see now lol. But still, there has to be something? So if you fly out that far, they just like, put the game on repeat?

Far Cry had that, it was really awesome biggrin.gif.

I remember taking two boats and doing shootouts on the middle of the ocean, top fun! icon14.gif

GTA SA did not have an endless sea, After awhile your plane just started to stall on the ps2.

San Andreas basically kept generating water as it was needed. In fact, the sea floor isn't even solid outside of the main San Andreas territory. The territory glitch is supposedly caused by the map expanding and the territories being wrongly assigned. There is an eventual limit in the game's memory to how far you can go. It's ridiculously far, but reaching that limit will place you in the NW corner of the map, very close to Bayside. So essentially, it's technically endless.

Rather annoyingly, in the "Pier 69" mission, Ryder will eventually drive through the rivers and out to sea endlessly. This was annoying one time as I ran out of bullets and had to kill myself with grenades to get back to the mainland.

I assume GTA IV uses a similar system. I can't see why they wouldn't use it again.

do u die or get reset to where u started or do the cops kill you

You can swim out infinitely, but once you have swam for twenty minutes, the game saves, so you have to reload and swim ALL THE WAY BACK. It's a pain, but cool because there are dolphins and whales and stuff out there.

Games have no limit, it will go on forever, it will just keep spawning more water, until your lost, then you can make a film out of it!

.Up&Coming.

There are always barriers.

Like in San Andreas..It looks like you keep swimming further and further but the game's just generating a picture over and over to make it look like you're going further.

That's how I'd assume this game would be.
