Dabs Posted April 28, 2008 Share Posted April 28, 2008 Misleading headline for that article. They're saying GTA IV will shift more PS3 consoles in the process than it will 360 consoles. In other words, the game's release will be more beneficial to the PS3 in terms of hardware sales. They're not saying more PS3 copies will be sold overall. In fact, given that the 360 has a larger installed base at time of writing, I'd wager that more 360 copies will be sold. Having said that, I personally am one of those people who's bought a PS3 to play the game (the GTA IV and PS3 bundle from Game - should arrive tomorrow). I think it is also safe to say that people who had a PS2 trust Sony, since it was a very reliable System, if not even the best Console built to date. Just give it time. Weren't HD DVD's leading sales over Blu-Ray not too long ago? Look how that faired. Metal Gear is PS3 exclusive, and that's a huge franchise. Grand Turismo is PS3 exclusive, and that's a huge franchise. Is Socom PS3 exclusive? I'm not sure, but it was the MOTHER of online gaming on last gen. Resistance & Gears cancel each other out. I was thinking about buying a 360 for the DLC later on, but that decision was negated by the blu-ray on the ps3. Things were about even to me and the tie-breaker was reliability. I never had any problems at all with my ps2s. I once accidentally pulled over my ps2 while playing mlb 2k5, it hit the hard tile floor upside down and the game continued playing without a hiccup, no damage to the game or system. That one incident will stick with me forever. The only reason I said PS2's instead of PS2 is that I broke one by taking it apart and putting it back together incorrectly. So just shut up and go and have fun. I hate this fanboyism. My self owns a 360 as it came out earlier and I'm broke at the moment. I gotta admit the PS3 library in the future looks good. But, what the hell. What about these guys that don't like games like MGS or Final Fantasy. I say choose the game console on which games you like. Don't only take advice from other people, just watch some videos about the games that the system has and see which system has the best games for you. That's all I've got to say. Take care, Worfox. Hopefully Sony dummies the f*ck up and gives us some good exclusive titles soon, but sh*t ain't looking too good at the moment. Haze ? Are you serious ? I believe Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet and MGS4 will all be awesome exclusive titles. At least they're better exclusives than the future exclusives of the 360, although I have to say that the past exclusive list is much better on the 360. Yea I went through 2 PS2's as well due to hardware failure, but I still think its the best console ever made, next to the SNES. I agree here....use common sense in choosing your gaming console.....don't listen to people tell you what system they think is better and why.......decide what games you like to play and if they exist on certain consoles......if they exist of multiple consoles, find out what the differences are and make a decision. Who really gives a rats ass which console outsells the other. I'm just happy I will be playing GTA4 in a few hours. f*ck sony & microsoft....they both have their fair share or problems and short comings. I bought a ps2 in 2001 and it lasted until 2006.......so just cause you had a bad experience doesn't mean that happened to the mass audience........I would suffice it to say if something as bad as the red ring of death happened on the ps2, we would have heard about it by now. It's like saying that because your original xbox360 hasn't ever had a problem, then we can negate all the users who have experienced the Red Ring of Death. *no thats not now it works* Complain, but complain logically. Wow, please try harder Sony No way has Xbox 360 got as many kick-ass titles as the PS3. Only two Xbox exclusives that kicked ass that I can think of are Halo 3 and Project Gotham Racing... PS3's got Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (that game kicks the ass of any adventure platform game that the Xbox 360 has), Gran Turismo, Little Big Plant... and lets not forget the new upcoming online title...
