JackRipper227
I've seen a video showing it, and there isnt really that many options (which i really dont care about) but to those who have ranked up and unlocked new clothes, how much more clothes are available? Gourangalol
I haven't tried ranked matches yet, not sure if they're available with the Social club not starting till tomorrow. But I think the customization is fine really. I'm not really fussed how i look, although i am happy with how my Character online looks. Gibboniser
No idea mate, but i did read in a review that the ranks needed for more stuff culd only be gained in ranked matches, and that in a lot of the modes you will be using someone else, not your own accesories ... for some reason i cant figure out... i suppose it will be like Halo 3 and your chosen colour , only availible incertain games. ryuclan
As long as I don't run into any of the fags I played Saints Row MP with. They were so hung up on how their character looked, and a good shirt costs 5,000 dollars. Kinda sh*t is that?

ryuclan
Exactly, I played about 30 matches, got like $500 (lol I keep losing my money when I get killed) and could only buy a hat a lame shirt and some boxers. GTA IV has the right idea, don't make people pay for clothes, make people play for clothes.

weejocky
You unlock more clothes, accessories and faces as you progress in rankings. you only start out with around 3/4 in each category. Not sure how many you get by the end though
OSPerry
I saw the video too, yesterday somewhere. It is a gametrailers vid I believe. I think for a game getting 10/10 review scores, the character customization is pretty light. Is the game not making use of the Eye toy or Xbox Live Vision Camera... If not, missed opportunity of not being able to map your own face to your character, like RB6 Vegas1&2. Not exactly the perfect game IMO. I'm sure multiplayer will rock... but the character customization, look pretty bland.
xRTRx Anathema
Saints Row is clearly better than GTA IV in terms of character cutomization, there were hundreds of options.

chitoryu12
Saints Row is clearly better than GTA IV in terms of character cutomization, there were hundreds of options. Yeah, and unless you were an extremely good player, you got sh*t after a few dozen matches. The multiplayer is damn near impossible if you have even an adequate connection, like me. That, and some servers have the worst lag in history. They also made new clothes and accessories way too expensive for anyone but a hardcore player to buy. Casual gamers would be left behind. Exactly, also the f*cking glitching in that game is legendary. Stand by, the bat glitch, all types of sh*t people do to make you lose. Anyway I hope GTA IV doesn't have as many glitches as SR MP did. Also SR is the only game where I experienced lag in single player story mode...
TOGA62
indeed the more you rank up, the more clothing will become available. But there are only 10 rankings and the "clothing" reward for the highest ranking is the ability to wear "skins" while playing. So you either get to run around nekked or at least shirtless. So that only really leaves 9 levels for additional options to be added. So I'd say don't be expecting a huge bunch of additional clothes. ryuclan
Dammit, well I guess a skins option would be ok... but I didn't expect much custom stuff from R* anyway, thats not their bag yo.
TenEightyOne
As long as you don't get the queens like you did on Rainbow Six - i've lost count of the number of heli rides where the other three players sat looking each other up and down and discussing hats while I looked out of the window... Tha Pirateninja
I used to be one hell of a SR player with me and my clan, but getting clothes WAS ridiculous. Out of my good number of months playing SR, I only got a few full suits and jewelry. I think R* has a WAY better idea with the "play not pay" method. It may not be as customizable, but at the end of the day, it will feel more rewarding leveling up and getting some cool clothes than saving up virtual money over the week to buy a $3000 hat.
