Several times I've seen a car I want going in the other direction and I've hand-braked and gone after it and most of the time I manage to catch up with it and get it. You really have to let it go way out of range (and well out of sight) before it will "disappear". I don't see it as a problem, and personally I think that in previous versions of GTA the cars disappeared much earlier. Above experience from Xbox version btw. I would have preferred the basic architecture of the game was upgraded. This disappearing car thing was alright in the past due to limited hardware. But now? It has no excuse; should not be in!
