markjamesa
since when did console games need installing????!!!??? loading times is one thing, but installing too? i thought Ps3 was the better console technology wise. what a load of tosh!
NuggetDog9
The PS3 has better framerates / loading times whereas the 360 struggles to keep up. The PS3 also has the advantage on graphics. The PS3 also renders better. The PS3 has a better colour to it. The PS3 also stomped on your 360. Get your facts right! I mean FFS, Its not Sony's fault that you cant afford a good console. DDR Midian
Quite. Some people don't mind, but it bothers me. One of my major arguments for consoles > PC was the fact that consoles have always run off disc, thus eliminating the problem of storage space. PS3 just totally killed that. If it's gonna install it's basically just a PC, so I might as well go with a PC instead. ...and NuggetDog9 need to stop trolling with his fanboyism. It actually improves the framerate / loading times whereas usually the 360 comes last in loading times / storage space. EDIT: GTARULES123, Again FFS man. He started the fanboy topic about the PS3 sucking so I shown him the facts. If you dont like it then dont post in this topic. Besides if his going to be a fanboy then we all can. motorforum
I like how not owning a PS3 makes you poor when if you want to play games you like, you buy the console that has those games you like. Well guess what, 360 has all that I like and not the one game I want a PS3 for that will be out sometime next year. It's that simple, jackass. motorforum
Well, the 360 has more RAM than the PS3, so loading it to the HDD will counteract that problem and the slower read speeds from Blu Ray. The Cell is only one part of the console and having less RAM makes them pretty even in my eyes and a lot of developers.

Have you never used Google? or worked building computers? Yeah, you're right. Framerate has nothing to do with CPU or GPU. It's how powerful the DVD is. I'm gonna upgrade my PCs DVD drive so I can play games with a better framerate. Better update the actual game discs too, they're getting old by now. Have you never used Google? or worked building computers? Really, I build computers and the only bad thing about playing from slow media is buffer lag, it hits the framerate only when it renders something new from the media, is that what you mean? Well, the 360 has more RAM than the PS3, so loading it to the HDD will counteract that problem and the slower read speeds from Blu Ray. The Cell is only one part of the console and having less RAM makes them pretty even in my eyes and a lot of developers. No, they have the same amount of ram but the 360 shares the ram between the system memory and the graphics memory where as the ps3 has seperate memory for each. Both resulting in 512mb of ram (which is damn terrible if you ask me).

Yes that's true, which is why the load times are slightly faster and there is less pop-up. Doesn't affect framerate though. Hence no reviews mentioning it, except the one you've apparently read and won't link to.

But only about 9 percent of the time and I agree with you about the pop in (Im not really bothered about that as most console games have it)

The 360 does use a DVD so it reads faster than Blu-Ray. I believe R* thought that the 360 didnt need it as much and they were right.
