that's cause you are gamers, and you hang with a lot of gamers... but, gta draws in a lot of people that normally don't buy that many games and just have one console..

This comparison isn't for people with one console.

It's for the people who have a choice.

So, what are you getting at?

I'd agree with that. There have been so many games with side by side comparison videos, and no one can ever truly tell the difference. Even when they're both staring at the same video, 360 owners say the 360 looks better, PS3 owners say the PS3 looks better.

 

I think they both look exactly the same, any difference would be so tiny that I wouldn't even use it as an excuse to choose one version over the other, I still make my decisions based on what my friends will be playing on and which controller I prefer.

Look when they drive on the bridge, on 360 you see tons of cars and on ps3 only somes and they are cops chasing you....

 

Maybe it isn't same time of the day or something but that's strange.

 

Plus, during the gunfight the guy on ps3 is hide behind a car and there is NO other car, on 360 the intersection is full of cars.

 

If i was ps3 owner I would be worried... I'm not fanboy I'm just telling what I see.

Sorry to tell you but, it's actually the opposite way.

There were reviews where they confirmed that the PS3 Version will display a few more cars/peds due to the fact that it has a lot more processing power, BUT, the difference is minor, maybe 2 cars and 3 peds.....

 

And yes it does depend on the day, but it mostly also depends on the fact that they played through the 360 Version and not through the PS3 Version, and it was said that in the beginning there are less cars/peds on the street due to the terror threat.

That's maybe this.

 

But the 360 should have more peds because it has more RAM... give the source of what you say guy. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

The 360 doesn't have more Ram. I don't know who started the rumour.

The only difference is that the PS3 has its RAM split, 256MB main RAM and 256MB video RAM, however, the GFX can also access the main RAM!

On the 360 the GFX and CPU both have access to 512MB shared RAM, but now in contrary the main 256MB RAM of the PS3 is a lot higher clocked than the 512MB RAM of the 360.

 

So yes, they both have pro's and con's, but they also both have an identical amount of RAM.

 

I have no clue what the source was anymore, there were so many articles in the last weeks that I pretty much lost track what was stated in which article, and honestly I don't really care about it.

 

The game is being released tomorrow, so let's just enjoy it how it is.

Thank god somebody else who knows what they are talking about, i always see people thinking PS3 has half the RAM of 360, but thats just wrong.

The game engine is limited by the console power, so, same thing. wink.gif I wouldn't even begin to try to explain all the reasons why and how IV was limited by a certain console; no one listens.

Yeah, but I'd imagine the engine has a limit in the cars/peds it generates, and I'd assume it's the same engine (with the same limits) in both consoles.

Yeah, but I'd imagine the engine has a limit in the cars/peds it generates, and I'd assume it's the same engine (with the same limits) in both consoles.

I wouldn't be so sure. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't set the limits to the maximum they thought feasible for each console individually.

I personally dont really know what i like the best, it's to hard to tell if the anti alising stuff is even noticeable because of the video quality but i think i like the ps3s warmer colours a bit more than the 360... But damm i would be happy with both version !

Well it looks like they liked PS3 much better, the default colours are brighter on the 360, but the ps3 can be changed to your choice, and the trigger is more sensitive on the ps3, but the analog sticks are better on the ps3.. so thats a straight win really.

Both versions have the same amounts of peds/cars. I've seen many videos of both versions and there is no difference in the number of peds/cars. If anything, the PS3 could handle more peds/cars.

Well.. The qualtity is'nt very good but..

I see absolutely NO diffirance AT ALL.. And it is'nt a really that great of a comparison. The game fottage are recorded different times at day. The 360 is evening/night while the PS3 shows day/morning light.

The game will look sweet on both systems!

 

I'll just pick up my 360 copy and enjoy the DLC and LIVE smile.gif

I have no clue about this but if 360 renders in 720p and ps3 renders in 630p shouldn't the 360 one look better?

It's already been made clear that both versions are rendered in 720p. Dan Houser has said this, game reviewers have said this.

 

There's no proof to suggest otherwise. It's some guy looking at edited screenshots and giving his opinion. This guy isn't a game designer...he's just some dude on a video game message board.

the proof is in the thread. PS3 is upscaled, the game renders natively at 630P(on the PS3). renders at 720P on the 360. personally i think this expains the whole "360=clinical look, PS3=softer look"

There is no proof because the guy is looking at rescaled screenshots to make his opinion. How come R* has made it clear that both versions are rendered at 720p??? Are we supposed to believe some hack on a message board over people who've made the game and people who've played the game???
