I preordered from cheapgames.com.au, and they promised delivery on the 28th, but I don't live in any of the Australia post Express Post areas, so I got an email from them saying not to expect it until tuesday I saw the Aus Post car pull up out the front. The guy made a delivery to the house across the road, and then headed over to my house. I thought for sure it'd just be the Dual Shock 3 I ordered from play-asia.com, but I noticed the package was too small for that. I was disappointed until he handed it to me, and I felt the rectangular PS3 game case. I pretty much shat myself in excitement. I put the game in, grabbed some munchies while I waited for it to install. Now, after about 6-7 hours of playing, I've gotta say, I'm completely blown away Which bring me to the point of this topic.. I have no idea why everyones bitching about this game. It's brilliant. That's all there is to it. It's absolutely flawless Here are some things I noticed: -The graphics are NOT crap, as some people would have you believe. At times, they are actually surprisingly realistic -The controls take some getting used to, but now that I'm used to them, they feel quite good -The new car physics take a lot of getting used to. I found myself sliding into buildings rather than turning corners, but once you're used to the cars, they are very fun to drive And some minor details I loved, and literally made my jaw drop(I don't mean that as a figure of speech. I mean my mouth actually went like this ): -When Little Jacob is in the car with you, he smokes in the car. You can see the smoke coming out of the windows of the car, and he occasionally throws the butts out the window -When a you get a phone call in the car, you can here the sound from the speakers distort just like a real phone does when it's next to speakers -If you crash your car into a stationary pole or a tree or something, it will really mess the front of your car up i.e. you get a dint in the car going halfway up the bonnet/hood -In the same accident as the one above, I flew through the windscreen when I crashed! I don't know why I was so surprised since everyone knew before the game came out that this was possible, but I was really impressed There were plenty of other jaw-dropping moments, but just to many for me to remember, so these are just a few of the things that make this game so awesome There are probably other people who have the game that have already told everyone about this stuff, but I just wanted to put my observations out there in case anyone was interested. And I'm not writing this just to brag about how I got it early, I just genuinely want people to get a taste of how good this game is And to all other Aussies who haven't got it yet, only 5 hours to go! xer0er Posted April 28, 2008 Share Posted April 28, 2008 Yeah, when I first got in a car and started driving it was like "Whoa, this isn't GTA style!". It was crazy, and I think from the expectations, everyone loses some control to start with. After a short time of playing, you get so used to it that you can drive easily and it is amazingly fun. I find the handling realistic, and once you know how to drive properly, you can really maneuver your way around traffic and whatnot with ease. Handles like real cars. I can tell you though that a lot of the stuff I expected to be cut has NOT been cut. Girls will come up to you and offer you lap dances, which you can pay for by pressing L1, otherwise you can just walk away -Blood/Gore- Hitting a ped will leave blood marks on your car. Same deal if someone hits you in their car. Hitting people on bikes is especially messy -Getting Drunk/Drunk Driving- Haven't gotten a chance to try this yet, but apparently it has been confirmed that it's still in If you've got any other questions, I'm happy to answer them. I hope you've got a free day tomorrow then or you're gonna be busting to play it all day About the rollercoaster, here is a direct quote from the "Places" section of the game manual "The Screamer- Too bad you can't ride the Screamer, because what could be more fun than riding a 100-year old rollercoaster made of wood?" I haven't taken a good look at the rollercoaster yet, but I have driven past it plenty of times. Thanks dude. Moved my PS3 from the HDTV to my SDTV so I can answer your questions Anyone know where to pick up hookers? Edit: Found one. Here's the story I found a working girl on the side of the road. There isn't anything indicating she's a hooker, but if you park next to her and beep your horn, she'll come over and offer her services. Press L1 and she'll get in. I took her to a park, my money went down by $70 and the camera focused on the brand badge that's on the car, not the number plate. I couldn't move the camera around until she had gotten out of the car, at which time I proceeded to kill her and get my money back. I shot her until her health was gone and took my money back but I noticed she wasn't dead! So it appears you don't need to kill hookers to get your money back, BUT if you free-aim at her head and shoot at her, you can finish her off, but you can't lock on while she's on the ground I don't know if it's the same for the uncut versions, but I think this may be the minor edit that Rockstar made I certainly hope that this is the only edited thing anyway Edited April 28, 2008 by jimnastic Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

More spoilers ahead! The whole thing is surrounded by a fence, suggesting that it's abandoned, so I don't think it will be possible to ride at all during the game. I could very well be wrong though! The fence is too high to climb over, but if you get a car parked next to the fence, you can jump on the roof, and then over the fence.
