Danny B
Is anyone else getting this message? Special Delivery™ 9am items are first tracked when they reached our mail centre. This may be late in the evening on the day the item was sent. Information on your item is not yet available online. If so, what does it mean? That it will come tomorrow? axe9920
Recorded is only tracked when the signature gets back to the office with the postman at the end of his shift. Special Deliveries are scanned at a few places - I'm not 100% on how many times it is scanned, but I know when the 'Specials Bag' arrives at the sorting office, each parcel is scanned and marked with which route it is to be delivered on. Then the signature (or lack of one) is scanned when the postman finishes their route. Technically the website could be updated at every point - but I don't know if it really is. If you are expecting a special delivery (next day) - then it will arrive on the day specified, not before (The only exception sometimes is weekends, as a normal Special doesn't include guaranteed Saturday delivery, although it could still be delivered then) ...All that said - none of this is 100%...it is Royal Mail after all!
