Lobby group Family First wants the latest version of the Grand Theft Auto banned, as it allows players to buy cocaine, set enemies alight and shoot police officers. Chief Censor Bill Hastings says the racing game has been given an R18 rating for a good reason and parents should monitor what their children are playing. He says if they allow children to play the game, or if retailers sell it to those aged under 18, they are breaking the law. Mr Hastings says the game is intended for adults, but there is an option where it can be played without the use of violence. Is there really an option to "play the game without violence"? It is GTA... How can we play this without guns or violence?? And why is the New Zealand game still R18 when we're getting the cut version? Shouldn't it be M or the Australian equivalent? And you have scenes of strippers and hookers getting into it and can actually see it this time!! I do not think it makes much of a difference if they're naked like COFFEE. I mean if they can do what the hookers did in the car and ALLOW you to watch them DOING IT, why not do the same as the COFFEE except this time with clothes on if that help. Seeing hookers doing bj is as bad as COFFEE in my opinion. So what i am saying is that if ROCKSTARS is able to ALLOW THAT IN THE GAME, i have no doubt it's as controversial as the COFFEE. You'll probably be surprised to hear GTA IV has noticeably fewer weapons and vehicles on offer than GTA: San Andreas did. If you wouldn't expect to find it in New York City, then you're not likely to find it in Liberty City. Yes, this means San Andreas' more unusual vehicles like fighter jets, hovercraft, go-karts and jetpacks are all absent. Don't expect to be wielding chainguns, flamethrowers or chainsaws either. getoverhere Posted April 28, 2008 Share Posted April 28, 2008 (edited) you can set people on fire with molotov cocktails. they stop, drop and roll. its ace. i haven't played but i saw it on a gameplay vid. it's funny how they call it a racing game. thats not just ignorant, its lazy. and it's easier for a child to watch decapitation or skull-f*cking on the internet these days than it is for them to buy this game. i'm talking real sick porn, violence and gross never three clicks away. it seems almost pathetic to bash a violent, rated game in that context. doesn't bother me - i was a tot when i first went on killing sprees on GTA1 and it hasn't effected me in the slightest. sh*t like the Exorcist and Hellraiser, thats what really f*cked me up as a child. but it hasn't resulted in my retardation. their not real. Just like SA Not until three months after the PC version comes out. It's not as easy, I think to hack out the code on a PS3 or X360... Then again, I reckon they might just have been a **little bit** more thorough with their code-checking this time. On the OTHER hand, if you see the 4m00s of that video review (PC mag?
