But I guess you're right, even in some American cities. Down in the gutter, you can't expect anybody but bottom feeders anyway. A lot of people on the streets might not be the criminals perpetrating crimes against you, but they're just as likely to be criminals none the less, and maybe not willing to do a damn thing to help you. I'm from a sort've backwoods part of Northern California. It's an odd mix of hippies and rednecks. I'm more of the latter. You can always count on a hippie to have a do-gooder attitude, problem is, that's all it is, just an attitude. Too pussy to do anything else. But you get around some country folks, you're just as likely to catch a hot one from a by-stander as you are from a cop, should you try something funny. I carry the Glock on my hip (loaded of course), and keep at least one shotgun (Remington 870 ... a serious man's shotgun ) in the truck, not loaded, but definitely got the buckshot for it. All that being said, the only time I've had to fire my gun in public (so I take back my earlier comment) was to put a dear out of it's misery after someone had hit it on the road. Although, it's also true that people tend to be a lot more polite about some types of things when my partners and I are around. Having a gun (much more so than a knife or something) is a 90% prevention and only 10% action. Plus it can help you be a lot more at ease in situations that you might otherwise find yourself too skiddish to be able to talk yourself out of, just simply knowing that if it did go seriously sideways, you'd still have a friend to fall back on. And if it did, and I was able to get myself out of it without anyone being killed, I'd much rather that be the alternative. Life's not that simple though. If your girlfriend/wife/sister/mother/daughter was being taken at knifepoint into a vehicle by two men whom you couldn't overpower, would you pull the trigger. It's not always just your life/wellbeing that's hanging in the balance. Easy to say you don't want to take someone's life, that you couldn't live with that ... but could you live with being able to stop a tragedy for someone you love, and not? Go home and enjoy GTA4 with some fries. then you get mugged by some hungry motherf*ckers who want your burger lol and to all the people who are saying "if you get jacked for a game just move" Not everyone has enough money to just up and move to a better (more expensive) neighborhood, and/or don't live with mummy/daddy who can do it for them. Think first. And to answer OP, no, cause knowing my luck i'd get caught with said weapon and it just f*ck me over. I won't be alone though. Im all for defending ones own but i know my limitations and the consequences. Im just saying that i highly recommend that nobody (if illegal in your area where you live) should carry a weapon of any kind. Im an old lucky mutha for living so long in this city (which gta is based from) with never getting killed. Unfortunately i cant say the same for most of my old friends. Some of them didnt make it and the others are still in prison. Long ago some friends and i atempted to rob a kid of his genesis game only to get into a big brawl with his family and end up in jail. What happend? The kid's big brother got it worse due to the broken jam he made to the wrong person. Also recently, my wife's nephew had his psp stolen at school which created a huge mess between the school and the accused's parents. To Everyone: Please do not bring any protection as in any weapons unless they are legal in your area. You do not need it for a dam game. I hoped that my first post would make it clear, and if it didn't, I'm hoping this one will, that I carried my pistol yesterday, I'm going to carry it today, I'll be carrying it when I go pick that game up, the same as I would be if I was going to the movies with my grandma. Nothing to do with picking up GTA, which actually (as it turns out) is one of the safer activities I engage in. I'm not advocating breaking the law (although I do advocate that almost anyone carry as much firepower as legally allowed, when legally allowed) only that circumstances in my life put this gun on my hip every day of the week, and that tomorrow night won't be any different. Where do you live? in the netherlands. but i live in a village with 35000 people living in it and i dont think anybody has been shot here, it will be all over the news. but im pretty sure people get shot in the big citys. People are crazy down there and would kill anyone for anything. I would have my s&w 1911 on me at all times. I remember my guy got mugged in gun point by 2 dudes over a pair of brand new Air Jordans.
