RollsRoyceD Posted April 28, 2008 Share Posted April 28, 2008 Is anyone bringing any "Protection" when you go pick up your copy of GTA IV? Like a knife, pepper spray, or a concealed firearm? Im not asking you people living in the rich neighborhoods, Im talking about people that live in a city where the crime rate is high, and you dont trust too many people. Thank God I moved to a new city, If i still lived where I used to live, I would definetly bring something more than my fists to defend myself with when I went to pick this game up. Anyone taking any precautions just to make sure you dont become a victim? Or you just going to be very aware of your surroundings and hope someone, or a group of people dont single you out and decide to jack you. Because you know theres going to be a lot of places, where that game will sell out, and people arent going to want to wait for the next shipment to come in. So a heads up, be careful. All of this while my reality tv show cameras follow me around! Seriously, I wouldn't worry about being mugged or something. To tell you the truth, I've never had to pull it in public, but I'm pretty sure that would be enough to dissuade someone from stealing a $90 game. There's plenty of times it's been a wise idea to carry my gun, although heading down to the local Gamestop isn't necessarily on the top of that list (aside from it being late, and in downtown). It's just been my experience that usually it's that one time you break a steady discipline (like consistently carrying a firearm) that it always seems to come and bite you in the ass. Like when the PS3 came out i saw alotta fuzz at this eb that was near a bank i go to. Look like someone got robbed of their PS3 or something that day. I wouldnt recommend to carry a weapon because that would get you in deep trouble worse than someone stealing from you. Also, just go to a slightly better hood comercial place with alotta ppl and more cops. Malls are cool too. The one i go to is at jackson hieghts 82nd where theres plenty of cops there cus of all the difficult parking to get and tickets they love to give out. Just put your game behind your back sliding down between your belt pants and back. You can walk normally and apear to have nothing. Or just do not walk out of there with a EB or game store bag. Go to burger king and ask for a large bag or buy some fries if the wont give ya one. Then head over and pick up your game and slip it into the bk bag. Go home and enjoy GTA4 with some fries. Not all parts of the city is like that. Its just all very mixed up and crazy. One area is peaceful and safe but walk 2 blocks down and its foul territory. I carry a Glock 23 on a daily basis.
