No but thats what free-roam mode is suppose to be about. If the mini-game scores will be in the Social Club then its common sense to disable them now since the ppl who will get the game early can get a head start. Why would they make another death match mode anyway? Theres got to be something to it. I'm guessing it'll all be enabled on launch. I hope. Would it end up being something we'd invest a huge amount of time in? I doubt it. But it would have been nice to take a break from the killing -- hanging out in a 'real' city. I am also quite hit by this news tbh - it was a large % of the reasons I was looking so forward to this game. However... Gotta remember, this game looks like it's pure gold in what it does do online - combat/driving, adventuring around a large city with friends etc. I'm imagining that Free Roam mode is ALL about setting up private rooms and sending invites out to your friends (which is where the 360 and Xbox Live will shine). Don't go hosting public rooms expecting co-op style stuff with strangers. It's all about free roaming with friends and discovering all this for yourself. Also, and I think this might be important, note that Rockstar has STILL NOT updated their official GTA IV site with the info for both co-op and competitive modes.... why on earth not? I have a feeling it might well be something to do with one last surprise; one that perhaps the major review sites are all in on. It could be as a poster above said - that this will all be "unlocked" in due course and then the info for it all finally updated onto that site tomorrow. I don't know. It just seems odd those sections are still "coming soon" - in other words, there is still no official take on what free roam actually is. One final point about this: Expectations were always Stella high with this game. This time 2 months ago it wasn't even confirmed there was multiplayer.... let alone a free roaming, 16-player, mode! GTA was never about bowling or darts, its all about stealing vehicles and killing sh!t the ones who complain do not deserve to play GTA4 at all imo... The mini-games themselves cut to another engine entirely, to have this run, without one of the other 16 players shooting the place up for sh*ts and giggles, would just have been too much... Deathmatch is what it is, deathmatch, with a timer, and restrictions (and XP) Freemode has no XP, your free to steal bikes and have races, see who can jump out of helicopters onto pedestrians, have a sniper shootout on the rooftop, amongst the many limitless possibilities... If you want to go Bowling, do it already, or play SP...
