Maffoo
What's stopping you swimming between the islands? I noticed the 4/5* wanted level trying to bypass the bridge road blocks, but why not swim?
The Juggernaut
You could swim, but if i remember correctly, if you did this in SA, once you got onto land 6 stars instantly
SimpsonFly
Why not swim between the islands in San Andreas?
Maffoo
But why get a wanted level just by swimming across? SA was semi-believable because of CJ's situation with Tenpenny, but am I right in thinking that Niko can't get across simply because of a storm warning like in VC? bell end 08
go online in party mode you can go on all islands stright away with no police after you
The Juggernaut
Why not swim between the islands in San Andreas? If you tried to cross the river, into the Vegas section and it was still locked you could swim across, but once you got onto land you got 6 starts. I assume that the same thing will be in IV. I could be wrong though.
xer0er
You can't access the other islands because of an unknown terrorist threat. There are police roadblocks, like you pointed out. If you swim across, you will get the maximum possible stars for you at that time, just as if you were to walk/drive through the road blocks. Qw33ts
because they have police patrol boats as well and you'll be "spotted" and get instant 4 to 6 star rating.

I think the islands are closed due to 'terrorist threats'.

Pretty sure you only attract the police once you hit land - or close proximity of land. First place I swam to was Happiness Island, and I went running around there with a nice wanted level. MasterYoca13
you havent seen the police boats? they are there. i'm pretty sure by the time you get halfway there swimming, the stars will go up, and the cop boats will come by and shoot you in the water. supa_midget
SPOILERS (sorta) In a gameplay vid I saw, it was possible just to drive through the roadblock, however instant max wanted level. However there is nothing physically stopping you.
Gourangalol
You get six stars, and FBI, swat and lots of police. The police in the boats have a person in the back firing their guns at you, the chopper marksmen can take you out almost straight away. Tis hard on 6 star

Nope.. like I said, I can swim right up to the land, and a few metres away from the shoreline is when I get the wanted level. There are police boats then, though. They don't go cruising around looking for you before you get close enough to another island, though.
dragonballz9
It is a good idea to close the bridges and set up road blocks. In saints row it was open in the start and you couls see the whole map easily .Whats the point that if you have not played the whole game and saw the whole map. In gta is fun that you learn map 1by1 and after 20 or 15 missions its like a achievment.
Maffoo
So assuming you get wasted/busted on the island you're not supposed to be you get sent to the one you came from? Even if you get shot outside the hospital?
