MCFC
Trust me seeing the game in real for yourselves tomorrow will look alot different to what you see in the video. May I point out: - 360 colours looked more rich in the bowling ally. - PS3 looked more bright in the strip club. But I am not sure if he has superwhite activated? I dunno, I'll compare them myself tomorrow. For now it's 360 version.
LCM
I rather enjoyed that comparison.
LandHawk
Was anyone else a little puzzled that they failed to mention the 360 is getting exclusive DLC in the future? Not trying to be a fanboy or anything, but I know it's been a deciding factory for a few of my friends when they were wondering which versio nto buy. flyinhawaiian
The helicopter incident happened on gta4eva's feed. If you were just pointing out a comparison, fine, but you didn't need to add the "lol see what system is on the bottom of the screen lol... see all those lights?" funny he wouldnt mention pop-in that big when i asked him specifically if he has seen any..... but i know why he lied and told me he hasent really seen any, HES A FANBOY!!!!! I saw the same footage where the roof didn't load after he hit it. I highly doubt you were talking to gta4eva directly Probono, considering he rarely responds to people on the chat, and add to the fact that there's usually 600-1000+ always on the chat, AND it's in slow mode. As for this topic, the PS3>360 version has been put to rest. It's clear the PS3 is the better version. By alot? Not neccessarily, but overall, it is. The website isn't working for me, so I can't contest to the side by side.
derty
Watch the video again. WATCH after the driving segmant, the weapon segmant. Remember SA would stutter when you turned the camera, especially with crowds? That is non extistant on the PS3 screen and utterly unmissable on the 360 one. Look at the drop in frames per second on 360 when he turns the camera/locks on/ducks for cover. Whatever moves the camera. This is non existant on PS3. 360 version is damn near always foggy too. Probably to cover up the AF stuff I mentioned earlier. This quote from a blog post from someone who knows of both games supports the stutter further: We already know about the shorter loading time in the PS3 version, but that was a given, since the PS3 can use it's hard disk (and the guys at Rockstar recently complained about the lack of such possibility on the 360). In addition to that, while the PS3 version has a smooth framerate in every situation, the 360 version staggers quite visibly in some crowded situations, expecially when you turn your character around. And why else would rockstar bitch about the lack of hdd? edit: jesus christ, yea, look at that. PS3 shooting cam is fast and sleek, the 360 one is seriously laggy: Edited April 28, 2008 by derty
Isuck100%
The quality of the online play on Xbox Live, the addition of achievements, and the upcoming exclusive episodic content make the 360 version of GTA IV the better version by far. I'd much rather have these things than a few slightly higher resolution textures and a little less pop-in. Unfortunately, I'll have to get the PS3 version since my 360 recently got the RROD, but the second I get my 360 back from repair, I'll have the 360 version in my hands and will never touch the PS3 version again. The 360 version of GTA IV will be by far superior to the PS3 version. After all, you're not getting the full experience on the PS3 without the 20 hours of episodic content (which could possibly include new land to explore) that is exclusive to the 360. Dan VII
I agree with the IGN guy, everyone (who plays online) should get it based on what their friends are gonna be on, all my friends are on Xbox 360 so thats where I'll be going

StephenTrance
All this ranting about which is better is really pointless people. I mean come on, it's just a game I have seen both the 360 and PS3 one in action first hand on my cousins systems. I can tell you now that the PS3 version does have a more stable frame rate then the 360, it also has less frequent pop-ins and loading time is MARGINALLY better. As for graphics, the 360 is little bit more richer, whether you like this or not is up to you. It's a personal perference. AA again, only marginally better then the 360 version. So like I said, there is hardly any difference between the 2 version besides what was mentioned above, but the way this whole 360 vs PS3 rant has been going, you guys make it sound like there is a BIG differences.. I personally will be getting it for both consoles. Most of my friends will be on 360, so I am getting it for 360 for MP, but since the PS3 version has a more stable framerate, I will be playing SP on that. People will probably say it's a waste of $$ getting it for both, but who cares..IT"S GTA! Anyways people..get over this whole 'which is better' debate. Just get it for the console you have and enjoy! skitzofraen
I dont see any real difference... the first 3-4 seconds I thought there was kinda of a differencen, but then I noticed that it was because on 360 it was raining, and on ps3 there was sunshine... when both versions had sunny weather, they looked exactly the same. If the differences were that bad then one version would be scoring slightly lower scores than the other which is not the case. I'm happy that the PS3 finally has a game that is on par with the 360 that hasn't taken a further year or so in dev or been axed due to timescales. Oh and did I mention this game happens to be the best game of all time. Chill out, enjoy your own game on your own console, it's gonna be f*cking epic. mupet0000
Who cares people, who cares. The difference is minimal. I'm a PS3 owner and I will be happy to have and play the game, as will mature 360 owners. Go away fan boys.
PATT3N
I can't believe your arguing over some minor pop in, you do realise the size of the city and the level of detail? Jesus I have had the game since Friday and the pop in has been minimal! sure it does happen occasionally but nothing that would wreck your experience. This is not a game, it is a work of art
