And another time, a guy jumped from a helicopter and landed on the roof of a building, and it literally took the texture of the roof 6 seconds to load properly. I counted. Also, tree pop ins are very common. There are a lot of other things wrong as well. Want proof? Just go watch a live feed. /end fanboyism Nice try, trying to put down a system. Also, the colors are much nicer on the PS3. I'll sacrifice a bridge popping in for nicer colors. Now, please stfu. Probono Giggalo Posted April 28, 2008 Author Share Posted April 28, 2008 (edited) funny im watching 2 feeds right now and i have yet to see any pop in, actually its a good quality one too, and the host says the framrate stutters a little bit with ALOT of action, but hes seen no pop in besides a tree or shrub evey once and awhile, but i guess hes a fan boy too right? his name is gta4eva on justin.tv, or you could go to the xbox live feed on ustream.tv, to witness no pop-in either. damn, im just pointing out a video compairison for people to watch. people get all defensive when someone points out pop-in on there beloved PS3, get a grip guy. its a good video, shows it side by side pretty much, let people make up there own mind. I love them both equally, and I eventually might even get both versions. This is my personal opinion and i think i'm entitled to it, just like all of you are entitled to your opinions. To me, it looks as if the 360 is not only brighter and more vibrant, but it also looks clearer, smoother and more realistic. I have been watching the live feeds (they were for 360) on and off and I haven't noticed any pop in. Im sure its there, its in every game, but its not as prominent as everyone acts like it is. I am getting the 360 version on tuesday because all of the RL friends have a 360. If they had PS3's, i would get it for that. The 360 will probably have a bit more but thats because its reading off the disc where the ps3 is going from the HD. Considering bluray reads quite a bit slower than xbox. You post a video and make an attempt at slagging the PS3 version... did you even f*cking listen to that video? He states categoricaly that the PS3 looks better and has better anti ailiasing, he states that the load times are better, he states that six axis is useful for helicopters, he states that he prefers the PS3's controls.... But no.... you want to focus on one instance of pop up, are you in denial or what? PS. dont read the IGN review by the way... they state that the 360 has more pop up and theres texture lag. If you remember right, he said the 360 was the one with those issues, so if you saw that, imagine what's worse. Did you even notice you can't even see niko's hands in the strip club and how blurry the pink sign and the green little jukebox are on the 360 version? That amounts to more than better AA, that amounts to better AF as well. And don't give me "small flash videozor!" because the PS3 would be like that too. They did not do a good job comparing, either, and you will see better soon enough, friend. They are all still trying to sell the xbox360 version before MS get's its ass whipped when all the Real User Made comparisons come out that are not made by people who are owned by the people with the largest stakes in the game. They tell you to get the one your friends have; and friends online are of f*cking non-issue imo. I hang out in real life with my friends. You know PS3 is the only version with split screen including in multiplayer so you can actually PLAY with your frikken friends? Please. They are trying to sell the units. Ever heard the phrase "don't feed into the hype"? Why the hell do you think M$ hyped it so much? Just the excitement of actually having a IV game at launch? Please. You know, you really asked for that with your sly fanboy stab. And the list doesn't stop there. It's really no big deal, but make it one, and look what happens. You bring on facts. They probably SHOWED that one instance of pop up as a warning to consumers with any brain "well, they actually USED and didn't remove a clip that bad, and it was of the PS3, and they say those issues are worse on 360!" I don't know, maybe he didn't remember. But, when it took the roof 6 seconds to load a simple texture, the whole room had a big reaction, "gliiiiiitch!!!!" "lagggggggggggg" "Pop in!" Don't care if you don't believe me, or him. Like I said, I am not a fanboy, and I always avoid posting fanboyish remarks, because I know that each console has an advantage, and disadvantage to playing this game. Why do you have to keep being douches? Where do you get off, dude? I hope that was a typo. The 360 version is much much darker. Look for details on niko in the strip club, he's a shadow. You can see him in the PS3 video. PS3 is not more saturated, that would be the xbox 360 and it's "vibrant colors". Which is really just a marketing term used to deal with the side affects of dropped quality in AA and AF, look at the damn green thing when he first enters, then the pink sign, then the damn hole in the door. Look how clear everything is on PS3, but blurred on the 360. Up the saturation on the TV. BLUR BABY BLUR. Multiply that distance to outside world. It can truly only get worse the further away you get. That's how AF works. Or rather, that's what happens without a high level of AF. You will notice. And if it ISNT an AF issue, and the very blurred look is from lack of as many AA passes, and those are just flash-i-tized jaggies, then that's major. Lezlie The Benz himself: GTA IV is Rockstar North's first game for the new generation of consoles. I have been learning about this sh*t for so long, and it really can't work any way else. That is why BMW pre-owned is marketed 72% more heavily than the new models. Because people who listen to commercial hype and marketing are the people who let the companies think for them. The people who buy Low.
