For one I don't care if there is sex in a game. If that is the major problem with this game then people need to get a life and laid. I guess all of the murder and drugs and drinking are fine, who really cares about that. But wait they are gonna have sex "OH NO!!!". Wait we can't have consentual sex between adults in a game. Thats just not right. I think it would be different if you could go around raping women (or men what ever you people like) I would even be offended by that, but to complain about sex in a game that is rated M or 18+ is stupid. Think of it, we all know that underage people play the game, and seeing sex and acts of extreme violence in the game flips out the parents who watch them play the game, then they get angry and complain, and people like Jackass Thompson are born. They disregard the fact that these kids aren't even supposed to be playing the game in the first place, seeing as the content is designed for those who have come of age and they complain and moan and bitch about the content without seeing their own hypocrisy. I am ashamed to live here in America where parents are lazy, shift the blame on others, don't take responsibility and so on and so on and are in the process of raising a f*cked up generation of kids in my opinion. If you think America is bad now, I shudder to think of what it will become in a matter of years. I'm straying off topic so I apologize. TG147722 Posted April 28, 2008 Author Share Posted April 28, 2008 don't worry about straying off topic...I don't care, and you aren't too far off topic and I agree so it is fine...As a parent I would never in a million years let one of my kids play this game...I will not buy this game for my brother who is underage and I told my dad what the game entails so he can choose if my brother gets it. Dick move yeah probably, would I have found a way to get the game without my parents permission damn right, but that is just part of life. If my parents found the game and took it away oh well...that is the cat and mouse game of life kids try to break the rules and parents try to enforce the rules...well most parents or should I say good parents... If you are dumb enough to buy a game that promotes drug use and intense violence for your kids then do not complain about the sex... Oh well, have a good night everyone my head is starting to hurt from reading these posts about kids who aren't allowed to get the game and parents complaining about sex in games and people in general. To all the little 15 year olds: Don't buy the game if you don't like the sex being somewhat real. I think the sex isn't even that real compared to the shooting. It isn't the sex in the game that people are complaining about. It is the fact that sex is being associated with violence. Sex is sex, sure... but how many times have you picked up a hooker, gotten a bl*wjob, then stabbed her and shot her in the head? I am 33 yrs old and I WILL buy this game. I gotta say though, I just watched that trailer a few minutes ago and some of it even made me kinda cringe and I'm no saint by a long shot. Don't bother with all the same old comments..."It is rated +17..blah blah.." I'm not on this bandwagon. Just trying to point out that the members that have posted about this subject were bothered by the two things being shown as something to do "just for the fun of it". Yeah, we've been shooting and killing people for years and it hasn't affected me at all but I kinda agree, at least on some of the content being extremely harsh and unecessary. There's plenty of music and other art that depicts things sensitive people might not want to be exposed to - this is one - avoid it if you are worried that your sensibilities will be tarnished. Whilst in words, no one made a big deal about it...... All of a sudden some kiddies see it and its like.. OMG wow..... I never go on a aimless killing spree in gta. I know its just a game but i TRY not to run over peds and same goes for hookers..... Its all about personal choice and thats whats amazing about this game, the choice is yours.... now instead of complaing, all these people can either f*ck off n not buy the game.. or buy the game and not engage in those activities. I can kinda see where you are coming from with that, but in an adult themed game which is appropriatly rated as M, what is the big deal...like I said before if there was rape or something that would be totaly different...I don't think we will see a mass killing of prostitutes or anything...I don't think there will be a large increase in teen pregnancy. Does the TV show Sopranos get a ton of sh*t for showing sex and violence at the same time nope it was one of the highest rated show in history. So please lets not talk about them being included in a game together. Yeah I think a lot of it has to do with parents don't want to have to explain sex to their kids...oh no you might have to parent or something aren't schools supposed to explain that to kids now adays anyway...but don't worry parents your kids already know about sex...12 year old girls are blowing boys in school and teen pregnancy is on the rise again so your all doing a great job. If you don't want your kid to see violence they should probably have a console that is the Wii, and they certainly shouldn't have GTA4 - there's a rating for a reason. GTA equals prostitutes, cop-killing and general violence - if you don't want that, just like an R rated movie, don't watch or play it. Real simple, real easy. I know there are people younger than 18 that are more mature than many people over 18 who shouldn't be playing the game but I really think there is an age restriction on the game FOR A REASON. People younger than 18 shouldn't be exposed to video games like this. But it's not just video games fault it's also movies, which have been around a LOT longer than violent video games. There are a bunch of violent movies out there people are seeing and you really have to have a solid mind to be able to deal with the images and know what's right and wrong in real life. With that said.... Sex in video games? Well "Make love not war" right? Even though this game is doing BOTH. I think in real life "Make love not war" should be the standard. But for this this game since both are involved I can see how people find sex shocking but both are 'shocking' in their own right, based on a certain perspective.
