I am curious to see which gangs are around and how many. Please tell me which gangs you have seen, if any, and where they hang out. I want to know for when I play the game. Thanks. You see a few people looking like bikers standing in a group of three, but when you hit one of them the others won't attack you, they'll just run. I've made about 20% progress and I've had no introduction to gangs in the game what-so-ever. Only one time have I attacked a group of people who pulled weapons on me and attacked me back, all three. Seems as if gangs have less importance in GTA 4. It's also hard to tell who's in a gang and who's not, atleast sometimes. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I asked someone and they said that gang's only appear in missions, which honestly kinda sucks in my opinion. I think I also remember hearing somewhere that the peds used for gang members are normal peds you'll see on the street... which is a bit more realistic. I mean in real life you see an italian guy in jersey with a gold chain... he might be a wiseguy, he might not. You see a tough lookin black guy in harlem, he might be a gang banger, he might not. You see a guy in leather with a harley he might be a hell's angel... he might be someone's dad that rides a harley on the weekends... so that's not a bad model in my opinion. It would be cool if for example when your in chinatown and you start shooting at a group of young guys, 75% of the time they'll run away... but that other 25% "oops... i guess they're triads" and they start shooting back. The only other thing crossing my mind is we know the Vlad has a bar called Comrades... Phil and Ray have Honkers... if you go to either of those establishments and start trouble will gangsters come out and start shooting you... or is it no different than if you went into any other business and started trouble and the cops might show up eventually. I honestly really hope I can go into a Russian bar and start sh*t with Russian mobsters... or whatever gang... but I guess I'll know tomorrow... unless someone enlightens us first... I hated that soooo much I think I have seen a Black gang by the basketball courts in Broker, a few Russians in groups look like they could be Russian mob guys. I am a bit disappointed that they toned down gangs to the point where there is virtually no gang activity, at least thats what it seems thus far. Did anyone else see a gang, witness a gang shooting, etc. outside of a mission? Also, do cops ever get into shootouts on the streets? How often does crime occur on the streets of Liberty City by peds, which borough is most dangerous in your opinion? From what I have played gangs actually look like pedestrians because they dont dress alike and is not until you do something to them that you know they are a gang because they attack you. Kill3456 Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 I recall playing a mission with Little Jacob where I had to shoot down a certain number of drug dealers, when they ran and I started firing, a black man in a hoodie who wasen't a part of the mission as he didn't have the icon over his head, began to unload on me with an uzi. I seen a couple of them out on Onondaga Ave. Im out in Dukes right now trynna see whats popping and I seen dudes out in Steinway pj's wit red bandanas on too, plus there be tags in Niko's apartment building that says "Blood". The gangs I've spotted so far: Russians in hove beach(Faustin's gang), a Jamaican gang around Little Jacob's area and Triads in Chinatown (Algonquin). I got jumped by 9 MOB's at the basketball court. Theres also apart of Firefly Projects that has/had a gang of dudes running around wit white and black bandanas across from Mohegan Ave. I dunno if they was a different gang or what, but they were holding their building on smash. Firefly is just grimey like that. Also, I bumped into what looked like 2 Puerto Rican gang members out on Dukes Boulevard, I also caught a dude walking on Dukes Boulevard wit a red bandana on. I had been seeing red bandana throughout Dukes. But none in Boker. Then when you go to Bohan, there is a Puerto Rican gang up and down San Quentin in Fortside and South Bohan that wears black and gold like the Latin Kings. Mafioso86 Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 yeah the gangs are in... if you want to see Yardies just go to the bar Jacob always has you drop him off at... they're less obvious... but there'll be a bunch of tough lookin Jamaican guys hanging around outside that are quick to fight. I've seen the same thing in Hove Beach with Russians, Firefly projects with Blacks, Bohan with Puerto Ricans, Irish guys in Steinway, and if you go to one of the Burger Shots in Dukes its always swarmed with bikers wearing "Angel's of Death" jackets. Interestingly if you listen to them talk they talk about some other biker gang called "The Lost" who they say are pussies or whatever. In one mission some bikers identified as The Lost did show up... though I haven't seen them outside of mission yet. Gang cars appear to be in as well... but again not so obviously identified... but all the yardies drive what look like two-tone black and lime green Range Rover Sports with nice rims... I think the Russians are usually in what looks like Mercedes ML-Suvs. Puerto Ricans I've seen in really pimped out Voodoos, the Angels of Death on the bike called the Hellfury, and the Lost on the bike called the Zombie. I might have seen the blacks guys in the Escalade looking thing... but i'm not sure if i'm just thinking of Playboy X's video on the official site. One of you mentioned the gang called "MOB" in firefly projects, and I'm positive I know who you are talking about... though I don't know where you got that name from... just listening to dialog? I haven't seen anything about it... Oh one last thing on the gang subject and the firefly crew.... If you want gang action get a cop car and use the police computer to search for crimes in progress or whatever... I only did it once, but I was given a list of 4 crimes to choose from, all with descriptions. One said, "Gang Disturbance" so i picked that and I was given a spot on the map to go to... sure enough I followed the GPS and ended up under an overpass in the firefly projects in a shootout with the black gangbangers you see hanging around there. That gang in Bohan that rocks the black and gold has been seen in Cervesa Heights, I saw a dude there wearing black and gold beads and a white t-shirt. But he was by himself, so that gang in Bohan may have some members out in Dukes as well. Ive seen some in Cervesa Heights, South Bohan, and Fortside. They run the projects in South Bohan. But most of the time I see another group of Rican gangsters out in Cervesa who arent flagging any colors and they seem like older guys. When it comes to Holland, Ive been seeing dudes flagging black and red bandanas over there all the way from Vauxite to Topaz Street.
