I know this has probably been brought up a thousand times before, but isn't the 60 second flood control a bit extreme? I'd say a realistic and fair time limit would be 30 seconds, max.

The only people who complain about this are people who spam.

 

With the upcoming release of GTA IV, 60 seconds is a perfect time, maybe not even enough. With all of the members who are going to be posting spoilers, the moderators and admins will need some more time to look through the topics for things like that.

You have to understand that this forum is being flooded with a constant onslaught of forum newbies and posts. Right now there are well over 2000 people on this forum alone, and that number has been fairly consistent over the past few weeks.

 

Now think, if everyone was constantly posting than this place would probably not be able to handle it and the time to load pages would be pretty severe. I would rather have a smooth running forum than the ability to post once every 10 seconds. And honestly, why does it even matter? I think you can wait 60 seconds between posts. It's most likely just spam if it's any less than that.

 

Also, this type of flood control can prevent forumers from those certain assholes who like to spam 50 topics in a row with major spoilers in the topic title. That's the kind of sh*t that makes me want to avoid this place, but I feel much better knowing that it can't happen.

Point being that the forum as a whole benefits from the flood control...

With the release of GTA 4 within the next 48 hours, getting rid of flood control would be the stupidest thing anybody could do at this time.

 

Bottem line, as it's been said allready the flood control is here to stay. Well atleast untill the GTA 4 spam/fanboy warfare is at a lower level then it is now.

It gets in the way at times because I also tab all topics I find interesting and post quite rapidly at times, but given the current traffic, it's more than reasonable. But overall it's not a problem. Sixty seconds is fine. Probably helps cut down on spam as well.
