Kotaku Suggest 360 version slightly better

I own both consoles and I like both, you know why because both are kick ass systems!!!  I had my xbox first so there is a little bit of a pref to it but that could also be because I have a large collection of games for my 360 and only 2 for ps3. Anyway I made the choice to go with the 360 version, and let me tell you it was a really hard one for me.  Yes the PS3 has slightly and I must repeat SLIGHTLY better graphics than the 360 again this may be because I have been playing newer games on PS3 I.E. Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, havent played it on 360 so I cant really make a fair comparison of the games but I digress.  I chose the 360 version because of the enhanced online, and anyone who says that PSN is better than Live heck that it even holds a candle to live is sadly mistaken and has probably never used live, now this may change with the eventual release of Home for PSN but I really dont know.  The second reason is for the DLC you cant go wrong with expansion packs for GTA IV I mean come on extra maps that are supposed to be the size of vice city and possibly San Andreas, new cars, new missions, new story line additions.  Add that with extra multiplayer features of live and it makes it almost a slam dunk however I may have to get both versions just so I can make a fair unbiased evaluation of it on both systems, I do really wish they would have given the option for the install on the 360 version that is a great thing the PS3 has going for it also I do like the fact that it is released on Blu-Ray that means more room for detail and less compresion which has to be a good thing I also like the fact that the PS3 uses HDMI which IMHO give sharper detail and better looking experience, now I know the 360 elite has HDMI but I dont have an elite so to me that is a moot point and refuse to go out and buy a whole new 360 just so I can have HDMI on it.  So really either version you buy will leave you with your jaw on the floor and I am thinking that somehow the DLC will make its way to the PS3, so go out and buy it for whatever system you have and if you have both like me you will be faced with a hard decision because both systems kick so much ass its not even funny, the only thing that rocks harder than these systems is playing GTA IV on either one!!!!!!!!!!!

good post man, i do agree that xbox live is better than the psn, cause you have the ms points to buy stuff with like themes, gamer pics and what not, unlike the psn don't have the cards you can buy stuff off of the online network, hopefully they will bring something out later on and correct me if im wrong if they don't have one in the US already or getting one. The HDMI does make it better as before i tried the component cables for the 360 and can tell the diffence in the 2, how i have a universal splitter so i can have both systems hooked through HDMI cable which is really good.

(from the end of the comparison article) If this were a personal decision, I'd have chosen the PlayStation 3 edition, mostly based on my preference for the DualShock controller and the performance edge.

So... how exactly does that mean they preferred the xbox version? did you read further than the first paragraph?

goddamn. im getting the 360 version, you know why? because i chose to f*cking buy instead of a ps3 cuz i dont have $600. Nothing else, i dont care about graphics or popups because they didnt cause that much trouble in Saints Row and that game was kickass. who cares which is better because your getting the one for whichever system you got i dont see how argueing changes the graphics or how the game plays. i agree that kotaku hinted that the 360 is better but i dont care. im not gonna go out and buy a ps3 because of nicer graphics and less popups and i hate the word 'fanboy' that has to be the stupidest word ever. whenever someone favors one system more and tries to believe their version is better their a fanboy. heres an idea LET THEM.

Ok each version of the game has its own benefits, if you like playing online (GTA never really was too accelerated in multiplayer) then go with XBox if you like smoother gameplay go with PS3. You people need to stop fighting over which console is better, you haven't even tried the game yet, so you don't know the truth. The problem with you people is that you will believe whatever you want to believe and hear/read only what you want to. Though in truth there isn't much in it. I'd certainly take the word of an independent and more importantly trusted site over corporations such as IGN who have ties to Sony...

You have no idea what you're tlaking about. Kotaku is pretty much the only one suggesting this, and I have no doubt they're pretty easily persuaded by Microsofts deep pockets.

 

The only reaosn the 360 could be better is with the DLC, and htta is if you're paying more than the original game asks for. Without it, face the facts. The PS3 comes out on top ont he performance level, but why go on about it?.. move on.

 

I'm happy most reviewers have the balls to stick it in Microsofts face and speak the truth & I can tell you hate it with every inch of your body. Are you that desperate? ... Both consoles have their pros & cons, leave it at that becayse GTA IV will be great on both in it's own way. The game is out in less than 21 hours, c'mon man!... enjoy the epic moment & shut up about this crap.

 

And btw, you need to check those links because no where does it say Kotaku favor the 360 version... in fact from a technical aspect, the PS3 is the lead here. So what the hell you're trying to prove is confusing.
