radicell
what happened... it was about to go to second page. when are you going to update it. Apologies mate, but if you read my post in the Writers' Updates (which no one ever seems to do) or just read my signature, SFS is on hiatus. I'm unsatisfied with many of the ideas I have come up with regarding the storyline, so I'm giving myself to think and let it come to me. Expect a chapter... when I post it. SpeedyClaude
Ok radicell, I REALLY LIKE THIS STORY. It is amazing, and I feel like it would make an awesome GTA. But... Somethings are just really weird. In GTA, no one would tell you locations of weapons around the city, that was silly, I mean, the hidden weapons are for the player to find and it would have been better if the toolman would have said, I have hidden some weapons around the city. Another thing, a police officer would never tell ANYONE if they did drugs no matter what, no one would tell anyone they did drugs unless they trusted them, so that was silly also. All in all, this is amazing. SpeedyClaude
radicell
Thanks for reading it, I guess you have a good point about the policeman thing. But regarding the weapons, plenty of GTA's had missions where you had to pick up specific, hidden weapons. And the people did tell you where they are. An example of this would be Tenpenny in San Andreas, I remember during several missions he hid weapons inside the city and you had to go get it before continuing with the mission. radicell
The following installment is a cutscene. Remember the Catalina missions from SA? Well, the new strand are exactly like those, but come with a slight twist. This installment isn't really a mission. Instead, it is one of those cutscenes that precede the actual gameplay sequences. This installment is the equivalent of "First Date" in the Catalina strand from SA. I wrote this cutscene to keep things going here, as well as to unravel some subtle revelations. The mission that follows this cutscene I will write and upload shortly. You’ve got black tank-top-wearing assassins chasing you throughout the city, and will continue to chase as long as you’re in the mainland of San Fierro. So make your way to the ? blip at Easter Bay airport. A red marker is right next to a parked Dodo. Getting into the Dodo will not trigger anything, however, walking into the marker will trigger the mission start. The Pilot (Scene) Cross Country Strand CUTSCENE We see the parked Dodo sitting on the airport tarmac. Its windows have been tinted heavily, we can’t see inside the plane. Alvin walks up to the plane and knocks on it. ALVIN: (walking around the parked plane, disoriented) Hello? ALVIN: Hello! Alvin walks a few more revolutions around the plane, confused. ALVIN: F*ck. This is crazy. One phone call… Alvin suddenly pulls out his gun, alert, and begins backtracking away from the plane. All of a sudden, a digitalized voice blares out of what seems like a loudspeaker attached to the plane. PLANE: Get in the passenger seat. ALVIN: (turns) Sh*t, a talking plane? FADE OUT/IN We are now inside the passenger seat of the plane’s cockpit. The door is pulled open and Alvin climbs onto the seat. ALVIN: (getting into seat) Alright, can you please explain what the he– Alvin has turned around, and the camera turns as well to discover that the pilots seat has been blocked off from the passenger seat with a large metal wall. ALVIN: Hello? PILOT: Yes, I am here. ALVIN: Where? PILOT: On the other side. ALVIN: Why don’t you show yourself? PILOT: It’s for the greater good that I don't. In the background, the plane has revved to life and from outside the one-way glass window we can see that the Dodo is moving onto the runway. ALVIN: Where we going, man? PILOT: Los Santos. ALVIN: What?! Wh-why are we…? Where is my brother? Who are you? PILOT: I will explain to you on the flight. Get ready for takeoff. FADE OUT/IN A view from the ground of the Dodo flying overhead in the skies. Back in the cockpit, Alvin talks to the mysterious pilot. From the window we can see the skies and trees below cruising by. Alvin has his arms crossed, he is troubled as to what to do next. He bangs on the metal wall in the cockpit with his fist. PILOT: Hey! Y.. Yes I know you have a million questions, but.. ALVIN: (enraged) Who are you?! Where is my brother?! What is QC? What am I.. why are we going to Los Santos all of a sudden? PILOT: I will answer that last one. I understand that right now you are being faced with the twin demonic threats of your father, and the Triads. ALVIN: Yes, but how did you know.. PILOT: Doesn’t matter. The point is, right now you have the support of the Yakuza, those Vietnamese small-timers, a guy who owns a car dealership, and a corrupt cop. ALVIN: What, is that not enough? PILOT: Not enough?! Your posse is like schoolchildren compared to the Triads! Yes, they have been toying with you the whole time! You might think that you’ve been scoring points over them, but trust me – ALVIN: They are predators looking for the right moment to land the kill. PILOT: (pauses) That’s exactly what I was going to say. So we’re going into Los Santos, because Los Santos is where you find some of the most violent gangs in all of America. And if these gangs have got the Triads down on their list of hates – ALVIN: That’s when I actually become a challenger. PILOT: Your mission is to make yourself a number one public enemy on the streets of Los Santos – of course, while impersonating a Triad member. And your ethnicities are, conveniently, the same, so if you succeed, these dawg’s and cholo’s, these busta’s and cabron’s who’ve never smelt a Chinese before, they’ll all be lining up to kick a chink’s ass. ALVIN: (winces) You know that I’m Chinese myself, right? PILOT: Yes, of course. Me too. Get ready – we’re landing soon. ALVIN: And also, I can’t keep on calling you ‘man’. At least tell me your name. PILOT: I’d prefer not. You can just call me ‘The Pilot’ for now. END OF CUTSCENE When gameplay fades in, you find yourself standing on the tarmac of this unfamiliar city’s airport. The plane has parked and is behind you. Apparently, Alvin has changed clothes, because now he is wearing the Triad outfit – all black shirts, pants, and shoes. The game directs you to enter a nearby parked 4-door car. After entering the car, a blip appears, this represents the airport’s gates. When you arrive at the gates, the gameplay begins. Dialogue goes on inside the car as you drive. THE PILOT: (on radio) Alvin! Can you hear me right? ALVIN: Yes, loud and clear! THE PILOT: (on radio) This is the car we’ll be using. It’ll be there everytime we land at the Los Santos airport. Don’t lose it! ALVIN: I won’t, don’t worry! So how do I get started? THE PILOT: (on radio) I’ve shortlisted four locations that are the main hangout points of the four major Los Santos gangs. As he is saying this, four blips marked by a yellow ‘V’, a purple ‘B’, a green ‘G’, and a light blue ‘A’ flash onto the screen. THE PILOT: (on radio) You get to these places, and just simply do as much as you can to make the gang hate you. Kill, burn, loot, shoot, improvise! ALVIN: Got it, which one first? THE PILOT: (on radio) As long as you get to all of them, it doesn’t matter the order. And also, Alvin, our plan is very easily foiled if you’re seen in normal clothes. So never ditch that outfit unless you’re on the plane. By now you should have reached the city centre. You can go to either one of the four gangs, it is up to the player to decide. These missions resemble the Catalina missions from SA – there are cutscenes, and after that the real missions begin where you can choose where to go. djladytaz
Thanks Unvirginiser - it means a lot coming from you. A Car for a Car Christine Strand CUTSCENE Alvin has walked back into Christine’s home, the first connection he had made in San Fierro. Christine is sitting at a desk, and stands up to greet Alvin, while further into the room, an unknown man is lying half-naked on the bed. CHRISTINE: Alvin! How are you, my dear? ALVIN: I’ve been great. Nice to see you, too. CHRISTINE: You’ve gotten along fine without my help? ALVIN: Yes, Christine. In fact, I’ve been building up quite a momentum. CHRISTINE: You’re probably wondering who that guy is over there. ALVIN: Yeah, I remember you saying you rarely invite men into your home? CHRISTINE: Well, of course, I make exceptions (eyes Alvin suggestively) But this guy, he’s my lover. ALVIN: Like, your husband? CHRISTINE: No, my lover. His name is Otto, and he used to be married to the woman who owns the garage downstairs – Michelle. The man has pulled on a tank top and now walks over to Alvin and Christine. OTTO: Otto Cannes, nice to meet you. ALVIN: Alvin Lee. CHRISTINE: Otto owns the car showroom just around the corner. ALVIN: What happened with you and.. Michelle? OTTO: Oh, that b*tch divorced me after she found I had been having an affair. ALVIN: Ahh. Well I hope I’m not intruding or anything. CHRISTINE: Oh, no. D’you really think I would call you over and then dismiss you? Otto here has a personal vendetta he hopes to settle, and you immediately came to mind when he told me about it. OTTO: You see, Alvin, a month ago, two cars were stolen from my showroom. The missing cars caused us a huge loss, and bankruptcy was imminent. But then, two days ago, some Rifa dudes say that they’ve spotted the cars in another showroom across town. ALVIN: Where is this showroom? OTTO: In Doherty, right in front of Cranberry Station. I will arrange for my close Rifa friend to meet you there. GAMEPLAY On-screen message: “Get to the target showroom!” Your destination is Wang Cars in Doherty. When you arrive to within distance of the car showroom, you will see a gunfight between Grove Street Families members and San Fierro Rifa members. A short cutscene will play before you resume control. CUTSCENE Alvin has gotten out of his car and is sauntering up to the gunfight, when a Mexican Rifa member approaches him. RIFA GUY: You are Alvin? ALVIN: Yes. RIFA GUY: (holds out hand) I am Jorge. Otto sent you, no? ALVIN: (shakes the hand) Yes, he did. Looks like we better kill those Grove guys. JORGE: Looks like it. They’re pretty heavily armed; here, take this. Jorge slaps a SPAS-12 shotgun into Alvin’s hand, and shows Alvin another one, that he is carrying himself. JORGE: Prized weaponry in the gang. C’mon, let’s blast those fools. GAMEPLAY You’ve got a SPAS-12 shotgun with sufficient ammo to kill the Grove Street gang members, but there are a lot of them, and they will all be shooting at you with Micro-SMG’s. Jorge will also shoot at the gang members, as will the other Rifa gang members. Once all the Grove Street gangsters have been gunned down, two blips appear on the map. These blips represent the cars that were stolen from Otto’s Autos. An on-screen message says, “Hop into one of the cars.” Both of the cars are street racers, one Elegy, one Sultan, so enter the car of your preference, and a cutscene will play. CUTSCENE Alvin has entered the car, and Jorge is just about to enter the other one, when a Grove Street Families gang member jumps out from behind the car, where he has been hiding. The gang member punches Jorge a few times, knocking him to the ground. Then, he pulls out a pistol and aims it at Jorge. He turns to Alvin. GROVE GUY: Gettin’ these cars back to Otto’s? Not so fast! ALVIN: What the hell do you want? GROVE GUY: Race you there. Winner keeps the cars. ALVIN: You’re crazy! Get out of here or I’ll make you wish you had! GROVE GUY: Getting tough, eh little Chinese? You got three choices. Race and win, keep the cars. Race and lose, lose the cars. Don’t race, your Mexican friend here dies. Alvin pauses and stares at Jorge, who stares back. Their eyes meet and Alvin sees the mist in Jorge’s eyes, trying but failing to mask the terror underneath. Alvin stares at Jorge for a second longer, then raises his eyes to meet the gang member’s. ALVIN: It’s a race. GROVE GUY: (nods, then to Jorge) Get into your friend’s car. As the screen fades out to black, Jorge stumbles into the car that Alvin is in, while the Grove Street gang member enters the other car. GAMEPLAY 3 – 2 – 1 – GO! The race starts inside Wang Cars, and you must blast through the glass panes. The race has no checkpoints except for the finish circle, which is Otto’s Autos in North San Fierro. The enemy car will drive through the heart of San Fierro, while you can take any route you want; as long as you beat the car to the final circle, you will trigger the next part of the mission. If you arrive after the enemy car, however, you will fail the mission, having lost the race. CUTSCENE GROVE GUY: Man, you guys cheated! ALVIN: (angry) What are you talking about, we beat you fair and square! (shoves the guy) GROVE GUY: Don’t shove me, stupid chink! At this moment, Otto appears, having stomped angrily from the showroom to see what is going on. Otto grabs the Grove Street gang member by his collar and shoves him up against the wall. OTTO: These are MY cars! You hear me, motherf*cker? MY CARS!! Now get the f*ck outta here before I f*ckin’ slit your throat! GROVE GUY: Al..Alright, man. I’m going.. I’m going now. OTTO: You better be! (gives a powerful kick to the guy’s groin) The gang member writhes in pain, but manages to limp off and out of sight. END OF CUTSCENEE Mission passed. +6000. +Respect. PHONE CALL ALVIN: Hello? JORGE: Alvin, remember me? ALVIN: Yes, Jorge, how are you. JORGE: We need help, Alvin. San Fierro only has space for one Hispanic gang, and the Rifa are in danger of eradication! ALVIN: Relax, probably just some taxi drivers getting edgy. JORGE: No, Alvin, you don’t understand! It’s Los Cabrones, the Cubans, they’re expanding into San Fierro? We can’t allow that, but we need help. The Cubans have an empire in Vice City and have kingpins on their side! ALVIN: Okay, we’ll meet later. JORGE: Misty’s bar, Oceanside. Don’t disappoint me, Alvin; it's not often that I work interracially. END OF PHONE CALL You now have three icons on the map. The Yakuza icon in The Highlands, the Rifa icon in front of Misty’s bar in Oceanside, and an icon representing Otto, in front of Otto’s Autos. how did michelle catch otto having an affair when she was with cj? wouldnt it be the other way around? just asking

radicell
Finally. You are in Los Santos, faced with four blips on the map, and four markers in the streets of the city. It is up to the player to decide which mission to take now, and he chooses to go the “A” marker, since it is closest to the Los Santos Airport, where Alvin is standing. The light-blue “A” marker is found inside Unity Station in El Corona. The markers here are different from the traditional ones in that you have to drive your 4-door car into them, as your car stays with you at all times. Blowrider Los Santos Gangs Strand (Aztecas) CUTSCENE Alvin’s car is parked in one of the Unity Station parking spaces as Alvin, in his Triad uniform, sits inside, talking to The Pilot on the radio. ALVIN: I’m at a train station. Unity Station. THE PILOT: (on radio) Ahh, the Aztecas, eh? Did you catch sight of any of them on your way? ALVIN: Yes. Mexicans, apparently. Well dressed, and a lot of cars. Mainly lowriders. THE PILOT: (on radio) Their most prized possessions. The Aztecas treat their cars just short of worshipping them. ALVIN: I don't think I’ll find upsetting these guys too difficult, if you know what I mean. THE PILOT: (on radio) The last thing we need is complacency. Even though the Aztecas are traditionally the weakest players in Los Santos, they are not to be f*cked with. ALVIN: Neither am I. THE PILOT: (on radio) Good luck, Alvin. But be warned – what you’re trying to pull off is unprecedented. No one has ever crashed a Unity Station lowrider meet and gotten out alive. ALVIN: Ever? THE PILOT: (on radio) Ever. ALVIN: (visibly shaken) Sh*t, the cars are pulling in already. Indeed, the camera shifts to see a dark red Savanna pull into Unity Station. Two Azteca gang members get out and lift the car’s trunk. THE PILOT: (on radio) You know the drill. ALVIN: I just hope I don’t get myself killed. THE PILOT: (on radio) The gangsters are armed, of course, but for a mission like this, I’d prefer things that go boom over things that go bam. ALVIN: What’re we talking here, grenades? Bombs? THE PILOT: (on radio) Close. Check the glove compartment. Alvin leans forwards and presses the small button on the underside of the car. Click, a box opens up to reveal several glass bottles. ALVIN: (bewildered) What the.. ? Empty bottles? Hey Pilot, what is this? ALVIN: (pauses, stunned) Molotovs? For real? THE PILOT: (chuckles) Now hurry up, son. The meet should be starting soon. GAMEPLAY More and more lowriders are driving into the open area inside Unity Station, and Azteca gang members are getting out and standing in a ring around the cars. An on-screen message displays: “Get to a good vantage point! There are some stairs in the back you can use.” Two blips appear, one representing the stairs, the other one representing the vantage point on the Unity Station roof, overlooking the meet. Find the stairs and ascend them, and get to the marker. The Molotov cocktails are now automatically selected for you. You are instructed, “Throw a cocktail down at the lowrider meet!” You must face the open space below you and throw using LMB. Once you have thrown the cocktail, a cutscene will be triggered. CUTSCENE One of the Azteca members on the ground looks up and sees Alvin, in the guise of a Triad member. GANG MEMBER 1: Hey, you there! What are you doing? His words alert the other Aztecas, and soon they are all hollering. GANG MEMBER 2: Cabron! Who are you? GANG MEMBER 3: Is that a Chinese…? GANG MEMBER 1: Look out! For a brief moment we see something flying through the air, then a large, explosive ball of yellow fills up the screen before fading. The ground is now charred, the vehicles damaged. A fire has started and is spreading; plenty of gang members are on fire and are collapsing into their own charred remains. GANG MEMBER 1: Get that chink pendejo motherf*cker! He pulls out a SMG and aims at the roof. Plenty of gang members in the distance do the same. GAMEPLAY Around a dozen Azteca gang members are firing at you with weapons. They are rather good shots, and will drain your health quite quickly if you don’t take action. You have Molotovs at your dispensal, as well as a roof-top ledge to crouch behind. Regardless of your method, killing all the attacking Aztecas without getting wasted will continue the mission. After all the attackers are killed, the game prompts, “Escape before more Aztecas come!” You will now be directed back to your parked car, which you must enter. The car, although having 4 doors and giving the impression of being slow and bulky, is surprisingly quite fast. As you exit Unity Station, you will be greeted by the first of pursuers, two Azteca gang members on Sanchez’s. CUTSCENE GANG MEMBER 1: f*cking Triads! GANG MEMBER 2: Go back to San f*cking Fierro, chink! They both accelerate on their dirt bikes, and inside the car, Alvin accelerates as well. GAMEPLAY You are now plunged into a first-person shooting chase just like Reuniting the Families from San Andreas. There is a twist this time, however. You have a SMG with unlimited ammo, but you will be shooting and driving the car at the same time, unlike in SA, where you were only responsible for the shooting. You must complete a precarious checkpoint course throughout El Corona. The course will take you through the sewer drains, into and across the pedestrian bridge over the train tracks, and through the two-storey houses south of the tracks before culminating at Los Santos Airport. Throughout the course, you must drive and shoot at your pursuers at the same time, making sure your car doesn’t get destroyed. Fortunately, most of the pursuers are on Sanchez’s, and only wield MicroSMG’s. With luck, you should be able to make it to the end, at the Airport, with some health left in your car. CUTSCENE ALVIN: (picks up radio) Hey, Pilot! You there? THE PILOT: (on radio) Yes, Alvin, I hear you! ALVIN: Jesus! Finally lost them! What should I do with the car? THE PILOT: (on radio) Leave it there, my men will take care of it. ALVIN: Alright, the plane still where it was before? THE PILOT: (on radio) Yeah. You sound tired, come on in quick. FADE OUT/IN The Dodo taxis onto the runway of the airport, and begins its takeoff. Inside, the two men, separated by a wall, converse. THE PILOT: So how’d it go? ALVIN: Tight. D’you think it worked? THE PILOT: What, impersonating the Triads? I guess we’ll find out. ALVIN: Cool. Where we going now? THE PILOT: Home. San Fierro. ALVIN: When are you going to tell me everything? Who you are, where my brother is, what … THE PILOT: Next time, Alvin. When we land, go home, take a rest. I will call you in a few days. END OF CUTSCENE Mission Passed. As the screen fades in, the player finds himself now standing in front of Easter Bay Airport. On the map, the ? icon is no longer there, instead, an A icon, representing Alvin himself, is waiting to be triggered in front of Pier 69. Feedback, comments, and criticisms are as always welcomed. I haven't written in a while, so this one might not be as up-to-par as the previous ones.
Struff Bunstridge
That was great, radicell. It's fantastic how you're using parts of buildings that weren't used in SA, like the stairs at Unity Station. While playing SA i'm constantly spotting things that I wish they'd use. Sounds like a damned hard mission, I could see myself being awake for hours trying to beat that. Brilliant.
