A Car for a Car

Christine Strand

CUTSCENE

Alvin has walked back into Christine’s home, the first connection he had made in San Fierro. Christine is sitting at a desk, and stands up to greet Alvin, while further into the room, an unknown man is lying half-naked on the bed.

CHRISTINE: Alvin! How are you, my dear?

ALVIN: I’ve been great. Nice to see you, too.

CHRISTINE: You’ve gotten along fine without my help?

ALVIN: Yes, Christine. In fact, I’ve been building up quite a momentum.

CHRISTINE: You’re probably wondering who that guy is over there.

ALVIN: Yeah, I remember you saying you rarely invite men into your home?

CHRISTINE: Well, of course, I make exceptions (eyes Alvin suggestively) But this guy, he’s my lover.

ALVIN: Like, your husband?

CHRISTINE: No, my lover. His name is Otto, and he used to be married to the woman who owns the garage downstairs – Michelle.

The man has pulled on a tank top and now walks over to Alvin and Christine.

OTTO: Otto Cannes, nice to meet you.

ALVIN: Alvin Lee.

CHRISTINE: Otto owns the car showroom just around the corner.

ALVIN: What happened with you and.. Michelle?

OTTO: Oh, that b*tch divorced me after she found I had been having an affair.

ALVIN: Ahh. Well I hope I’m not intruding or anything.

CHRISTINE: Oh, no. D’you really think I would call you over and then dismiss you? Otto here has a personal vendetta he hopes to settle, and you immediately came to mind when he told me about it.

OTTO: You see, Alvin, a month ago, two cars were stolen from my showroom. The missing cars caused us a huge loss, and bankruptcy was imminent. But then, two days ago, some Rifa dudes say that they’ve spotted the cars in another showroom across town.

ALVIN: Where is this showroom?

OTTO: In Doherty, right in front of Cranberry Station. I will arrange for my close Rifa friend to meet you there.

GAMEPLAY

On-screen message: “Get to the target showroom!” Your destination is Wang Cars in Doherty. When you arrive to within distance of the car showroom, you will see a gunfight between Grove Street Families members and San Fierro Rifa members. A short cutscene will play before you resume control.

CUTSCENE

Alvin has gotten out of his car and is sauntering up to the gunfight, when a Mexican Rifa member approaches him.

RIFA GUY: You are Alvin?

ALVIN: Yes.

RIFA GUY: (holds out hand) I am Jorge. Otto sent you, no?

ALVIN: (shakes the hand) Yes, he did. Looks like we better kill those Grove guys.

JORGE: Looks like it. They’re pretty heavily armed; here, take this.

Jorge slaps a SPAS-12 shotgun into Alvin’s hand, and shows Alvin another one, that he is carrying himself.

JORGE: Prized weaponry in the gang. C’mon, let’s blast those fools.

GAMEPLAY

You’ve got a SPAS-12 shotgun with sufficient ammo to kill the Grove Street gang members, but there are a lot of them, and they will all be shooting at you with Micro-SMG’s. Jorge will also shoot at the gang members, as will the other Rifa gang members. Once all the Grove Street gangsters have been gunned down, two blips appear on the map.

These blips represent the cars that were stolen from Otto’s Autos. An on-screen message says, “Hop into one of the cars.” Both of the cars are street racers, one Elegy, one Sultan, so enter the car of your preference, and a cutscene will play.

CUTSCENE

Alvin has entered the car, and Jorge is just about to enter the other one, when a Grove Street Families gang member jumps out from behind the car, where he has been hiding. The gang member punches Jorge a few times, knocking him to the ground. Then, he pulls out a pistol and aims it at Jorge. He turns to Alvin.

GROVE GUY: Gettin’ these cars back to Otto’s? Not so fast!

ALVIN: What the hell do you want?

GROVE GUY: Race you there. Winner keeps the cars.

ALVIN: You’re crazy! Get out of here or I’ll make you wish you had!

GROVE GUY: Getting tough, eh little Chinese? You got three choices. Race and win, keep the cars. Race and lose, lose the cars. Don’t race, your Mexican friend here dies.

Alvin pauses and stares at Jorge, who stares back. Their eyes meet and Alvin sees the mist in Jorge’s eyes, trying but failing to mask the terror underneath. Alvin stares at Jorge for a second longer, then raises his eyes to meet the gang member’s.

ALVIN: It’s a race.

GROVE GUY: (nods, then to Jorge) Get into your friend’s car.

As the screen fades out to black, Jorge stumbles into the car that Alvin is in, while the Grove Street gang member enters the other car.

GAMEPLAY

3 – 2 – 1 – GO! The race starts inside Wang Cars, and you must blast through the glass panes. The race has no checkpoints except for the finish circle, which is Otto’s Autos in North San Fierro. The enemy car will drive through the heart of San Fierro, while you can take any route you want; as long as you beat the car to the final circle, you will trigger the next part of the mission. If you arrive after the enemy car, however, you will fail the mission, having lost the race.

CUTSCENE

GROVE GUY: Man, you guys cheated!

ALVIN: (angry) What are you talking about, we beat you fair and square! (shoves the guy)

GROVE GUY: Don’t shove me, stupid chink!

At this moment, Otto appears, having stomped angrily from the showroom to see what is going on. Otto grabs the Grove Street gang member by his collar and shoves him up against the wall.

OTTO: These are MY cars! You hear me, motherf*cker? MY CARS!! Now get the f*ck outta here before I f*ckin’ slit your throat!

GROVE GUY: Al..Alright, man. I’m going.. I’m going now.

OTTO: You better be! (gives a powerful kick to the guy’s groin)

The gang member writhes in pain, but manages to limp off and out of sight.

END OF CUTSCENEE

Mission passed. +6000. +Respect.

PHONE CALL

ALVIN: Hello?

JORGE: Alvin, remember me?

ALVIN: Yes, Jorge, how are you.

JORGE: We need help, Alvin. San Fierro only has space for one Hispanic gang, and the Rifa are in danger of eradication!

ALVIN: Relax, probably just some taxi drivers getting edgy.

JORGE: No, Alvin, you don’t understand! It’s Los Cabrones, the Cubans, they’re expanding into San Fierro? We can’t allow that, but we need help. The Cubans have an empire in Vice City and have kingpins on their side!

ALVIN: Okay, we’ll meet later.

JORGE: Misty’s bar, Oceanside. Don’t disappoint me, Alvin; it's not often that I work interracially.

END OF PHONE CALL

You now have three icons on the map. The Yakuza icon in The Highlands, the Rifa icon in front of Misty’s bar in Oceanside, and an icon representing Otto, in front of Otto’s Autos.

Most excellent, as always, radicell. The best script besides the Conclusion and the Heart City Trilogy.

Finally caught up. Been rather busy as of late, but this has been quite the nice little sit-down colgate.gif. I enjoyed the referrences. It feels like the script's almost coming to an end in a way, what with Ahito now in SF(?).

I see what you mean, but Ahito has arrived in SF because I didn't want a VC-style ending, where you the antagonist only appears in the final mission and you eliminate him.

Saving Racing

Otto Cannes

CUTSCENE

Alvin walks into the nicely-furnished Otto’s Autos showroom interior. The camera pans around him to see Otto, smoking a cigarette, leaning against the Sultan that Alvin stole back for him in the last mission.

OTTO: Nice to see you, Alvin.

ALVIN: How are the cars?

OTTO: Good as new. But you haven’t earned my respect yet. You’ve only got half of it.

ALVIN: I would’ve realized that a man of your calibre’s respect is difficult to earn.

OTTO: (smiles) Make that three quarters.

ALVIN: I need that last quarter, Otto. I need every ounce of respect I can get.

OTTO: Well then, just listen to me. Being the owner of this showroom, I’m obviously into the one true San Fierro sport – street racing.

ALVIN: (sarcastically) Ah, my favorite.

OTTO: This time it’s different, Alvin. Listen. Illegal street racing is an urban sport, but it ranks pretty low on the list of things that need to be eradicated.

ALVIN: Things like poverty and serial killers.

OTTO: Exactly. With so many problems in the world, you’d think that the governments would be working on fixing them, and not worrying about the little, harmless street racers.

ALVIN: So what’s the problem?

OTTO: Well, I just told you the problem. A rumor’s going around that some scientists inside the army base have invented a vehicular device, something you put into the car, that they say will put a stop to street racing once and for all.

ALVIN: I don’t see how that’s possible.

OTTO: Let’s flick on the TV, it’s been on the news.

Otto turns and flicks a remote control towards a TV mounted on the roof. A picture appears, with a news woman interviewing a scientist in a lab coat.

NEWSWOMAN: Hello everyone, I’m here with Don Keepis, chief scientist in the San Fierro Army Base. Doctor Keepis, how does your new anti-street racing device work?

SCIENTIST: With the device inside it, a car detects close-shaves, high speeds, and fast turns. These are all key elements of street racing.

NEWSWOMAN: So the device will disable the car accordingly?

SCIENTIST: Yes; the device is in its testing stages and will soon be installed into all manufactured vehicles.

NEWSWOMAN: Here’s a question that the general public has raised – why are scientists tackling small problems like street racing when there are much larger problems that need fixing?

SCIENTIST: Well sometimes, we gotta kill the smaller shrimps before frying bigger fish.

The TV then flickers off into a black screen. Otto has shut it and smashes the remote on the ground angrily.

OTTO: That’s complete bullsh*t, fresh from the bull’s ass.

ALVIN: So what do you need me to do?

OTTO: Destroy it.

ALVIN: What?

OTTO: The device. Destroy it. Plant a bomb, blow the place, whatever, I don’t care. Just come back with proof that the thing doesn’t exist anymore.

GAMEPLAY

On-screen message: “The device is being transported into the army base by the train.” A moving blip has appeared, moving along the train tracks in Easter Bay towards the Restricted Island. When you get to the train, it has already been driven onto Kincaid Bridge.

“Give chase using the road bridge!” You must now grab a car, get onto the freeway, and keep parallel to the train on Garver Bridge. When you arrive at the army base’s entrance, two soldiers will be standing there, guarding the entrance. Shoot them, and shoot the control panel to open the gate.

CUTSCENE

The train has stopped in the army depot, and soldiers and scientists are unloading the large box that contains the target device.

GAMEPLAY

“Get to the train!” The train is on the other side of the small island, and army men will shoot at you with M4’s on your way there. Once you arrive at the train, a pointer will appear above the box. However, around 20 lab-coated scientists will run towards you, all holding knives, so be careful not to get stabbed to death. After the scientists are dead, half a dozen soldiers behind them will shoot at you with M4’s. Kill them all, and you trigger the next part of the mission.

“Destroy the device!” A meter will appear under the HUD, saying “Device Health”. Shooting at the large box will cause the health to slowly diminish. However, army men with M4’s and scientists with knives will keep on running towards you non-stop. Once the Box has been drained of its health, it will explode.

CUTSCENE

A Rhino Tank and a Barracks truck is closing in on you, while a Predator is approaching from the sea.

GAMEPLAY

You now have a five-star wanted level. “Get out of the army base!” Now comes the difficult part of the mission. You must get out of the base with soldiers shooting at you, and tanks and trucks chasing you. Fortunately, there is a Police Cheetah parked next to you and the game prompts you to get into it. Once you get out and are on the Garver Bridge, a cutscene will play.

CUTSCENE

The camera is on the ground surface, and Alvin’s Police Cheetah zooms over it. Then, a birds-eye view of the Rhino firing rockets that fall short of the speeding Police Cheetah. However, a Barracks truck overtakes the Rhino while it is firing rockets.

In slow-motion, we see the rocket flying out of the turret and through the air, before striking the awkwardly-positioned Barracks truck.

A huge explosion occurs, sending the soldiers inside the truck flying. A fissure appears on the bridge, and slowly, it cracks and breaks, all the while with vehicles exploding on top of it. After the crack has reached the edges, the bridge opens up from the middle, causing all the charred Barracks, the Rhino, and various other police vehicle to fall to their deaths in the sea below. The camera, watching this from a distance, pans to see Alvin’s Police Cheetah speeding through the San Fierro streets.

FADE OUT/IN

We are watching a news report on Otto’s TV screen. A banner on the bottom of the screen displays BREAKING NEWS.

NEWSWOMAN: Everyone, I am standing here at the site of an explosion on Garver Bridge that has resulted in the bridge’s destruction. It seems that an entire military force was decimated while chasing a fugitive who escaped from the army base. The fugitive was last seen driving into the Pay’n’Spray in downtown, and police are puzzled as to his current whereabouts.

We now see Alvin and Otto in the showroom, and Alvin begins to talk while the news plays on in the background.

ALVIN: I don’t think you need more proof than that.

OTTO: Really, Alvin. You’ve blown me away. On behalf of street racers all over the world, I give you my thanks.

ALVIN: Thanks for your thanks, Otto.

OTTO: Oh, and of course, you’ve attained that 25% of my respect you were missing. No doubt about it.

ALVIN: I think I should stay here for a while, the cops would be looking for me.

OTTO: Sure. You want something to drink?

Otto opens the door of a nearby refrigerator and pulls out two cans of Sprunk, one of which he throws to Alvin.

END OF CUTSCENE

Mission passed. +$9000. +Respect.

12 hours have elapsed since your last gameplay, and you still have a two-star wanted level. Get to the Pay’n’Spray in either Juniper Hill or Downtown to clear it. There are no icons on your map; the Rifa and Yakuza icons have disappeared. They will reappear after you complete the next mission, which will be triggered by a phone call instead of the traditional red shaft of light.

The next mission is one of the most important ones in the game. None of the cutscenes can be skipped, and the mission is almost all cutscenes. Your cell phone will keep on ringing until you answer it, and when you do, it will trigger the mission start. As Alvin puts the cell phone to his ear, the screen fades to black as the mission name appears on the bottom right.

Departure Hall

--

CUTSCENE

Alvin is answering his phone as he walks along the streets of San Fierro.

ALVIN: Yes?

TERRY: Hey Alvin.

ALVIN: Terry! Where are you?

TERRY: I’ve just arrived, Alvin. I’m waiting at the Easter Bay Airport, it seems.

ALVIN: Hold on for just a sec, Terry. I’m on my way.

GAMEPLAY

The objective here is simple. “Go pick up your brother!” A blip has appeared outside the arrivals hall of Easter Bay Airport. You must drive to the red shaft of light and park inside it, to trigger the cutscene in which you meet your brother.

CUTSCENE

We find ourselves inside the main airport concourse. A charismatic young man, younger than Alvin, walks across the shiny floor holding a coat and pulling a suitcase on wheels. We get our first glimpse of Terry Lee since In the Beginning.

ALVIN: Terry? Terry!

TERRY: (looks towards Alvin) Alvin, it’s good to see you again.

ALVIN: Yeah, for me as well.

The brothers have walked outside the concourse and are entering the car that Alvin arrived in.

ALVIN: So, you need a tour of the city?

TERRY: No, don’t need it. I’m ready to get right down to business.

ALVIN: Well, you gotta get accustomed to some unusual things here.

TERRY: Yeah, I know. We need to be ready to kill, hurt, and highjack if we were to stay on our toes.

ALVIN: How did you know?

TERRY: What? Where are we going? You don’t have a fixed residence here.

ALVIN: (pauses) Yeah.. and how do you know that?

TERRY: Alvin, I’m not stupid.

Tension has risen between the brothers, and as they argue with each other, Alvin’s cell phone rings to interrupt their fight.

ALVIN: Get in the car.

Alvin drives the car as he answers the phone.

ALVIN: Hello?

ZEPPELIN: Hey, it’s Zepp. Are you busy?

ALVIN: No, actually I was looking for something to do.

ZEPPELIN: Good. I’ve called an emergency meeting of our associates. I’ve got some important information.

ALVIN: About what?

ZEPPELIN: Our campaign against your father and the Triads, as a whole.

ALVIN: Alright. I’ll be bringing along my brother, who’s just arrived in Fierro.

ZEPPELIN: Okay. Looking forward to seeing him. Meet us at Pier 69.

FADE OUT/IN

Your car has pulled up to the arched gate of Pier 69. Both Lee brothers get out of the car, and walk together towards the group of people in the middle of the plaza. Zeppelin is there, waiting for them. Also present are Javed Sukit, Cantor, Ichiro Kamatari, and Otto Cannes.

ZEPPELIN: Alvin. Nice of you to come. This is your brother, I presume?

ALVIN: Yes. Terry Lee, my younger brother.

ZEPPELIN: Pleased to meet you.

ALVIN: Terry, these are my associates..

TERRY: (interrupting) Yeah, I’ll get to know them later, what do you say we get to business now?

CANTOR: I agree with Terry. We need to act fast if we’re going to take down Ahito and Ran Fa Li.

TERRY: We don’t even know who Ahito is really working with.

SUKIT: Not the Triads?

ALVIN: No, he personally told me.

CANTOR: I’m getting bored here. I think we should be attacking the Triads at every opportunity we got. Keep on hitting ‘em.

ZEPPELIN: Actually, our small band of people are simply going to get ourselves killed. We’ve been lucky so far, but the luck’s not going to last. The Triads’ got people everywhere, covering drugs, extortion, prostitution. Ran Fa Li himself even has a unit in assassination.

Zeppelin pauses to let this sink in.

ZEPPELIN: Which brings me to what I called everyone here for. Some associates of mine in another city have…

The camera is watching the group discussion from an elevated angle, as if the camera were perched on a rooftop. Slowly, a shadowy silhouette moves into the screen. The silhouette of a long, tubular object also appears, and it becomes obvious that silhoutte is holding a rifle. The shadowed figure aims his gun, and the camera turns around to see the sinister face of Ran Fa Li himself as he pulls the trigger.

Down in the plaza, Zeppelin has been hit in the shoulder. Blood is flowing out at a fast pace, and Zeppelin collapses onto his knees.

TERRY: I’m going after the killer!

ALVIN: No! Terry, come back!

But Terry has already run off. Alvin turns around to tend to Zeppelin’s bullet wound.

ZEPPELIN: Ignore the wound, Alvin.

Still kneeling, Zeppelin pulls out a piece of paper and a pen from his shirt pocket, and with his last ounces of energy, proceeds to write something on the paper. After he is done, he throws the paper at Alvin, and falls onto his stomach.

ZEPPELIN: (last words) Go here…

Alvin picks up the paper that has blood splattered all over it.

SUKIT: What does it say?

ALVIN: Two letters… QC.

SUKIT: What… turn around, Alvin.

Alvin turns around, and so does the camera, to see an emotionless Terry Lee, with a gun pointed to his head. The man holding the gun, as well as holding an arm around Terry’s neck, is Ran Fa Li himself.

ALVIN: Ran Fa Li, let him go.

RAN FA LI: The wisest thing to do now would be to kill him, you, and all your ignorant friends here.

ALVIN: You can’t win. The Triads will be destroyed soon.

RAN FA LI: We’ll see about that. Till next time, Alvin.

Ran Fa Li grabs Terry by the collar and pulls him out of Pier 69. He opens the door of a waiting Stratum and shoves Terry in. He turns towards Alvin and does a vulgar gesture before getting into the car himself. Back in Pier 69, Alvin and his friends watch the car zoom off, too shocked to do anything.

ALVIN: Sh*t…

ICHIRO: What do we do? Zeppelin’s dead, Terry’s kidnapped, and we have no idea what QC means.

ALVIN: We can only hope to find out. I’ll be calling you guys later. Right now I really need some time to think.

END OF CUTSCENE

There is no Mission Passed message. All you get is another phone call.

PHONE CALL

ALVIN: Who is this?

VOICE: I’m here to help you.

ALVIN: I’m not taking help from you before you tell me who you are.

VOICE: You’ll regret this, Alvin. We’re actually very close.

ALVIN: Call back when you choose to reveal yourself.

VOICE: Wait, no! I can tell you what QC means!

ALVIN: (pause) Really?

VOICE: Yes! And I can help you rescue your brother. All you have to do is go somewhere.

ALVIN: And where might that be?

VOICE: The biplane on the South Runway of Easter Bay Airport.

END OF PHONE CALL

A ? (question mark) blip has appeared on the runways of the airport. Even though the blip is there, you won’t be able to access those missions until you complete the two remaining strands – the Yakuza strand, in The Highlands, and the Rifa strand, in Misty’s Bar in Oceanside.

Dude, unfortunately, this is just a game-script, not a mod for San Andreas.

If someone wants to turn it into one, I'm all for it.

I don't usually don't come into the WD that much, but this topic court my eye.

The script itself is outstanding and very GTA like, I am fascinated the way it set up not like any normal script but like a game script. The story line is brilliant straight into the action that's what i like and the way its interweaving is awesome and the secrets about other characters is marvelous.

If this is based on TonyZimmzy I must have a read of his scripts.

Thanks gta_talk for the feedback. The normal scripts around here, like GTA: Old Times, GTA: The Conclusion are all excellent, but yeah like you said this is a game-script, the sort of thing an actual GTA game would be like. wink.gif By the way, I didn't base this off TonyZimmzy's Heart City series; instead it was that series that inspired me to start writing this.

I'm off on a trip to Japan on Saturday, won't be back until the week after. Everyone expect a little hiatus. wink.gif

CUTSCENE

ICHIRO: Alright men, we’re out there the whole day today, and it’s likely some of us will get injured, maybe killed. So, gentlemen, what’s our motto?

YAKUZA GUYS: (in unison) Kilodos tamakisu!

ALVIN: (walking in) Now I have no idea what that means, but you’ve got yourself quite a team here, Ichiro.

ICHIRO: (throwing weapons at the Yakuza guys) Yeah, well today is the day we confront the Triads, as the Yakuza. We need turf in the San Fierro mainland, you see, and today, it’s an all-out gang war.

ALVIN: What did you guys do with Zeppelin’s body?

ICHIRO: Come, I’ll show you.

The two men begin walking outside.

ICHIRO: Did you find out what QC means?

ALVIN: No, but I received a strange call telling me to go somewhere.

ICHIRO: The guy knew what it meant?

ALVIN: Yes, and he knew that Terry had been kidnapped. I felt like he had been watching over me.

ICHIRO: Where did he tell you to go?

ALVIN: Some runway at the airport. But he said to finish all my loose ends here in the city before I go.

ICHIRO: (stops) From experience, that tells me that the guy’s going to fly you out of the city.

ALVIN: Who knows.

The two men have arrived at a gravestone, out in The Highlands where everything is desolate and overgrown weeds own the place.

ALVIN: You buried him.

ICHIRO: Yeah, you know I thought he deserved it, after all he had done for us.

ALVIN: (leans down and touches gravestone) I’ll miss ya, buddy. I’m personally going to kill Ran Fa Li myself, for what he did.

YAKUZA GUY: (from behind) Hey Ichiro, are we going or not?

ICHIRO: Yes, you should be on your way now.

ALVIN: D’you think I could be of assistance?

FADE OUT/IN

The guys are back in the shack, making final preparations before departing.

ICHIRO: Alright, Cobra, you take this here. MP5, I believe it’s called. Python, you can have this Deagle. Boa, you can have something more simple (throws a 9mm pistol at the man named Boa)

ICHIRO: (turns to Alvin) We’re out of guns, but try these. He unpacks a small box and reveals a dozen shiny, glistening, pointed throwing stars.

ALVIN: Ahh, traditional throwing stars, the shuriken.

ICHIRO: (smiles) You know your Japanese trivia well. Best of luck, Alvin, and of course, (to the Yakuza guys) uphold the honor of the Yakuza at all times.

PYTHON: No problem, sir.

ICHIRO: Come on, gentlemen. Let’s depart. It’s time for fukushuu. Revenge.

GAMEPLAY

You’ve got a Premier parked in front of you, and following you are the three Yakuza guys, Python, Boa, and Cobra. Get into the Premier and the guys will follow. On-screen message: “Drive into Triad territory.” The easy task you must face now is drive your car into Triad territory. After that, things get difficult.

A cutscene plays, explaining the basics of gang war. It is the same mechanics as in San Andreas. Kill three Triad members to start a war in the district. Three waves of Triads will come at you. The first wave will carry knives and bats. The second wave will carry 9mm’s, Tec-9’s, and MicroSMG’s. The last wave will carry MP5’s and AK47s. Kill all three waves of enemies without getting killed yourself, and the territory is yours.

The shuriken stars that Ichiro gave you are, despite themselves, quite an effective weapon. They will do you good during the first two waves. In the last wave, you are better off using your strong weapons like, SPAS-12 or M4. During the gang wars, the three Yakuza guys will shoot at the Triads as well using their respective weapons. They are also immune to the Triads’ gunfire.

A total of five districts will show on your map. These are the non-Chinatown areas that the Triads hang out in, and you must take over all of these 5 “hoods” to trigger the next part of the mission.

CUTSCENE

PYTHON: Ichiro is going to be pleased!

ALVIN: You guys did well there. Which is not surprising at all, to be honest, as you’re all named after serpents.

COBRA: Yeah, you too. It’s good having someone like you on your side.

The four men get into the car again, and just as Alvin is about to drive off..

COBRA: Sh*t, Triads sending street racers after us. Hit the gas!

GAMEPLAY

“Get back to the hideout, quick!” You’ve got an Elegy, a Jester, and a Sultan after you. All these vehicles are occupied with two Triads, one driving, and one shooting a MP5. So drive fast and try to lose the cars, or else their gunfire will quickly blow you to pieces! When you make it to the marker outside the Highlands shack, the next cutscene will play.

CUTSCENE

Ichiro walks out of the house, holding an AK47.

ICHIRO: Mesuinu! Get the f*ck out of here, f*cking sons of a b*tches!

He empties a clip of AK47 at the chasing cars. One car blows up, while the others flee. Alvin and the Yakuza guys get out of their own car.

ALVIN: F*ck, Ichiro, that was some tight action back there.

ICHIRO: How did our acquisition go? Smoothly?

ALVIN: Couldn’t say it was smooth, but it was certainly successful. You’re now welcome to move into any non-Chinatown area now. Calton Heights, Juniper Hill, Downtown, you name it!

ICHIRO: Well, so Chinatown’s the only turf that the Triad owns right now?

ALVIN: Correct.

ICHIRO: Sweet. Come on in, Alvin. You staying for a beer?

ALVIN: Nahh, thanks Ichiro, but I gotta make every second count in finding out about QC and my brother.

ICHIRO: Sure, you be careful out there.

END OF CUTSCENE

Mission passed. +$5000. +Respect.

PHONE CALL

ALVIN: Hello.

RAN FA LI: You are a hell of a curious creature, Alvin Lee. Attacking the gang who’s kidnapped your brother? You gotta be out of your mind.

ALVIN: What are you going to do, ass-face?

RAN FA LI: Perhaps just keep your brother in Chinatown for a little longer… and have some fun with him while I’m at it, too.

ALVIN: Terry’s always been resistant to emotions and pain.

RAN FA LI: Actually, if you just listen…

Ran Fa Li distances himself away from the phone and Alvin can hear shouts of agony coming from the background.

RAN FA LI: That’s your brother right there. Not too resistant I would say.

ALVIN: F*ck you, Ran Fa Li. You are a disgrace to the culture of China itself. I will hunt you down and for all you’ve done, it’ll be the least of your troubles.

RAN FA LI: As if you could, Alvin. As if you could.

END OF PHONE CALL

The ? and R icons still remain on your map. We’ve gotta start and finish the Rifa strand up before getting to the Mystery Person, so we’re heading on down to Misty’s Bar in Oceanside to meet Jorge, our Rifa friend.

Thanks gta_talk for the new banner on the cover page, much appreciated! smile.gif I decided to add one last, smaller update before I leave for vacation. Hope you enjoy.

Lethal Nizzle: Muchas gracias.

Misty’s Bar is in Oceanside, San Fierro. There is a yellow pointer in front of the door, but don’t step into that. Instead, walk into the red shaft of light in front of the bar to trigger the mission.

Speed Weed Run

San Fierro Rifa Strand

CUTSCENE

Alvin walks into Misty’s Bar, where there is a dance floor, snack and game machines, a pool table, and a bar with a bartender behind it. Alvin walks up to the bartender.

ALVIN: Excuse me, I’m looking for Jorge Rivero?

BARTENDER: Jorge? Usually his guests are women.

ALVIN: Where is he?

BARTENDER: He’s usually in the back room over there.

The bartender points to a door behind the pool table, saying “Staff Only”. Alvin walks up there and knocks.

ALVIN: Jorge, you there?

No response.

ALVIN: (shouting) Hello?

JORGE: (from inside) Just a minute!

Alvin leans his ear close to the door and can hear yelps of ecstasy. He gives a smirk and leans against the wall, waiting. The yelps of ecstasy get louder and more passionate before dying down. After a while, a Hispanic woman walks out, slightly embarassed.

Alvin walks into the dimly lit room, where Jorge is sitting on a couch.

JORGE: Oh, it’s you.

ALVIN: Yes. Remember my name?

JORGE: Yeah, Andrew. Arthur. I mean, Arnold! Sorry, Ashley…

ALVIN: (rolls eyes) Alvin.

JORGE: That’s right! Why are you here again?

ALVIN: Is something wrong with you? You called me, Whore-hey. Said something about some Cubans or what not.

JORGE: Don’t you ever make fun of my name again.

ALVIN: Whatever, dude. What you need me to do?

Another Rifa guy walks in from the door, holding a pack of marijuana.

RIFA GUY: Hey, Jorge, we got a buncha weed here, and the boys out there are running low!

JORGE: That’s right! Alvin, go deliver the weed to our gang members. Pedro, give the weed to Alvin here, he’s delivering it.

ALVIN: You’ve gotta be kidding me, right?

JORGE: Hurry up, our people’s waiting.

ALVIN: What about the Cubans?

JORGE: They’re not a danger, yet. Here take this, I’ll tell you where to go.

Jorge hands Alvin a two-way walkie-talkie radio device. Alvin reluctantly takes the packs of weed from the guy and walks out the door.

GAMEPLAY

You’re outside Misty’s bar, and the game prompts you to get on a parked BF-400. Once you do, you initiate the mission timer. You only have 2:30 minutes to drive your bike to all five Rifa hangout points. Deliver the weed drive-by style, like the Pizzaboy missions in Vice City.

JORGE: (through radio) Alright Alvin, let’s go. Our guys at Cranberry Station asked for weed, so get there, quick!

A blip has appeared, representing the three Rifa guys standing in front of Cranberry Station. Drive to the Station and throw the weed at them from your bike. Once they receive the weed you’ll receive your next order.

JORGE: (through radio) Santa Flora’s your next stop. The guys will be waiting for you.

Once again, three Rifa guys in Santa Flora you must throw your weed at.

JORGE: (through radio) Hurry up son, you’re about as useful as a cock-flavored lollipop! Get to Paradiso, the Rifa’s depending on you!

Deliver your weed package to the Rifa gang members waiting in Paradiso, in front of a line of condominiums.

JORGE: (through radio) To the Pleasure Domes, pronto!

ALVIN: Jorge, I don’t know what this is all about, but..

JORGE: Look Alvin, I promise you’ll be paid!

Now there are gang members standing in front of the Pleasure Domes in Battery Point, waiting for your weed. You need to get there as fast as you can, due to your urgent time limit.

JORGE: Okay, your last stop is Avispa Country Club. Then get back to the bar for the payment.

When you arrive at the golf course, you’ll see Rifa guys waiting for your weed. Once you deliver them the drugs, on-screen message appears: “Go back to Misty’s Bar to pick up your payment.”

CUTSCENE

ALVIN: Jorge! Get out here!

JORGE: Alright, Alvin. You want money, right? Am I right? Well, here’s yer money.

Jorge reaches into his pocket and pulls out a single bill, the one-dollar bill. Alvin holds it in his hand, stares at it for a while. Then he raises his eyes to meet Jorge’s.

ALVIN: Dude, f*ck you. Next time I come we better be serious.

JORGE: (chuckling) Calm down, cabron. It was all just a joke. But thanks for delivering the weed.

ALVIN: (turns to leave) Screw you, man. Just don’t make a habit out of it.

ALVIN: (waving the one-dollar bill) F*ck, the guy's crazy...

END OF CUTSCENE

Mission passed. +$1. +Respect.

Theres a kid named Alvin Lee in my school mercie_blink.gif

I dare you to ask him if he has any new leads on what QC means. Just cos he'll have no idea what you're talking about. And then you punch him in the face!

Tony's prediction: Terry and Ran Fa Li are working together. Terry got caught way to quietly and easy, and Fa Li didn't kill him, he just took him as a 'hostage'.

Can't wait till you're back to continue it smile.gif.
