radicell
Lots of dialogue and phone conversations in this one, makes it a long post. Bent Cop Christine Strand Alvin rings the doorbell and enters her house as the screen fades to black and the mission name appears on the bottom right. CUTSCENE Alvin walks in, Christine is sitting lazily on a couch. ALVIN: Hi Christine, good to see you. CHRISTINE: Alvin. Good job on getting me back my stuff from the bike rider. He’s agile and strong, so I’m really impressed that you got him. ALVIN: Thanks Christine. CHRISTINE: But listen Alvin, maybe it’s the work you’ve been doing for me, I don’t know. But recently you’ve been attracting attention. And not the good kind. A puzzled look spreads across Alvin’s face. CHRISTINE: You see, the police are chasing one criminal around here already, they’ve even got those stupid roadblocks set up. And their not happy about a second criminal they can’t catch. ALVIN: I understand. But what is there to do? CHRISTINE: That’s where I come in. I know this cop, a corrupt, twisted sonofab*tch. He’s neurotic, he takes bribes, yet as a cop he’s never been caught. You should probably go see him, he’ll get himself “on your case” and you’ll be 95% safe. His name is Officer Cantor, and you’ll find him in the precinct. GAMEPLAY An on-screen message displays “The police station is down on the south side of Downtown” as a blip appears on the map, representing the police station. Jack any car and drive there. There will be a yellow marker on the front door of the precinct, walk into it to enter the building. Once inside, there will be a red marker in front of a desk. Walk into the red marker. CUTSCENE OFFICER: How may I help you? ALVIN: I’m looking for an Officer Cantor here. The officer at the desk taps at some buttons on his control panel. INTERCOM: Officer Cantor, please go to the main lobby. FADE OUT/IN A dark-skinned officer dressed in his uniform walks out of a corridor and meets you. OFFICER CANTOR: (the man has a strong Southern accent) I’m Cantor, what can I do for you? ALVIN: Christine sent me to see you. CANTOR: (pauses) Let’s talk outside. FADE OUT/IN as Alvin and Cantor walk to the front door. The two men are now in a small alley outside of the police station. ALVIN: Christine told me about you. She said you’d be willing to get “on” my case. CANTOR: Oh is that what she told you, eh? She said I would “cover” you at no cost? Well guess what chink, I ain’t doin’ any favors for you till you do some favors for me. ALVIN: (slightly offended, but keeping his cool) Okay Officer, what do you need? CANTOR: She probably told you I’m on drugs, did she? ALVIN: No, she didn’t. CANTOR: She didn’t? Well, now you know. Anyways, some survivalists up in Bayside Island, these guys hope for social disorder, y’know? So these guys grow some weed up in the Highlands, they don’t care who they sell it to, ‘cause in their eyes, it doesn’t matter who buys it. They achieve their goal. CANTOR: So I want their weed, but I can’t go up there and get it, ‘cause the cops up there see me and they gonna bust my ass. And so that’s where you come in, mister… ALVIN: Alvin. CANTOR: Alvin. Mister Alvin. ALVIN: Actually, that’s my first name– CANTOR: Mister Alvin, you go up there, get the weed, and bring it to me. Some gang members probably gonna be there too, so watch your back. I gotta go now, got a chief to report to. But remember, Mister Alvin, I’m expectin’ you in two hours with the stuff. And you better have it. GAMEPLAY The blip is on Bayside Island, which is linked to the San Fierro mainland by the Gant Bridge. Previous to this mission, the bridge was blocked by roadblocks. However, the roadblocks have been removed, so now you must drive to Battery Point, which is where the bridge connects onto the mainland roads. Once you enter the region of Paradiso, which is south of Battery Point, an on-screen message will display “Some gangs are going for the weed! Get to the dealer before they do.” Two blips will appear on the radar, and will be headed at full speed to the same destination. They start off at the southern ends of Palisadas and Santa Flora, so you haven’t got much time. Drive fast across the Gant Bridge and stop in the red marker, which is located on the sloped road between the freeway and Bayside Town. If any of the other gang cars (Grove Street Greenwood and Rifa Stallion respectively) get to the marker before you do, you will fail the mission. CUTSCENE A shirtless country man appears with a bag, followed by two more dressed in cowboy hats. SURVIVALIST: Now that’s a change. Asian man beats all the gangsters to it. Here, Chinese-y, take it! The survivalist hands Alvin the bag. Alvin gets into his car, just as the other two gang cars are arriving. GAMEPLAY “The gang cars will try to attack you and steal the weed. Get back to Officer Cantor in one piece!” You must make your way back to the alley where you and Officer Cantor were talking. The gang cars will ram you and the gangsters inside will shoot at you. Your car is expendable, however, so as long as you make it to the red marker in the alley with some health left, you are safe. CUTSCENE Officer Cantor walks in, sees the bag of drugs, and his face brightens. CANTOR: Mister Alvin! You impress me! I didn’t think you had a chance. Come back and see me at the police station sometime. You might just have a chance in getting my protection. END OF CUTSCENE Mission passed. +1000. +Respect. “Gant Bridge has been opened up and Bayside Island is now accessible.” PHONE CALL TERRY LEE: Alvin, how are you? ALVIN: Hey bro. Seems like ages since I left. TERRY: How’s Liberty? Ahito happy? ALVIN: Actually, Terry, uhhm.. he left me for a while. TERRY: What?? What happened? ALVIN: Well actually, I left him. I ditched him at the plane stopover. TERRY: Wait Alvin, so now he’s in Liberty City, but you’re in.. what was that, Fierro? ALVIN: San Fierro. TERRY: I know you never liked Ahito, Alvin, but this… ALVIN: It’s not to worry, Terry. I’m doing fine. I got a, uh, house, and made, um, friends. TERRY: But you’ll go broke. ALVIN: And I got some.. jobs. Anyways Terry, I’m the big brother, since when do you start questioning me? TERRY: We’re brothers, Alvin! We look out for each other. ALVIN: I’m sorry. I'm really.. never mind. Listen, I gotta go. END OF PHONE CALL PHONE CALL VOICE: Is this Alvin Lee? ALVIN: Yes. Who is this? VOICE: I understand you’re the one who got the weed from us today? ALVIN: The survivalists? VOICE: Yes, that is us. You’re Chinese, buddy. ALVIN: Yes, I know that. VOICE: All I’m saying is that we don’t see much Asians up here. On the island, we see a bunch of white guys. Occasionally some blacks and Hispanics from Fierro, from the local gangs. The Triads never deal with us. They think we’re unstable, and bad for business. And there’s quite a few things a Chinese face of yours can do for our business. So come up here, pay us a visit, yeah? Who knows, it could be the best decision of your life. ALVIN: My hands are pretty full at the moment– VOICE: Aww, don’t give me that sh*t. My name’s Old Zeppelin. I’ll be waitin’ for ya in my shack at the end of the dirt road in The Highlands. END OF PHONE CALL You now have a lot of mission employers – the star for Da Nang Boys at Pier 69, the SFPD icon for Officer Cantor at the police station, and the Z symbol for Old Zeppelin in The Highlands. Since they were the first unlocked, we will go work for the Da Nang Boys.

radicell
Triad Takedown Da Nang Boys Strand Alvin walks into Pier 69 as the screen fades to black and the mission name appears on the bottom right. CUTSCENE The camera is looking at Alvin from atop the Pier 69 buildings as he walks into the plaza, where Da Nang boys are milling around, leaning on the railings, or sitting on the park benches. Alvin walks deeper into Pier 69 and attracts attention. DA NANG BOY: Hey Chinese guy, what’you doin’ in here? ALVIN: Someone called me and asked me to come here… Another, more in-charge gang member walks into the scene. This gang member is different from all the rest, in that he is not Vietnamese, instead he has brown skin. 2ND DA NANG BOY: Max, I’ll take it from here. (turns to Alvin) You the crazy driver that slaughtered dozens of Triads? ALVIN: Yes– 2ND DA NANG BOY: I knew it, just by lookin’ at you. I see you’re Chinese buddy, you gotta be real brave to work against them Triads. ALVIN: I’m actually quite new here, and I don’t know them quite well. 2ND DA NANG BOY: You will, trust me, after you do what I’m asking you to do. The Triads have a large underground base of operations. The Chinatown district is way to small for them to conduct all their crap, so I want you to storm that base. Shoot up some people, steal some stuff, that kind of sh*t. And get them to know that the Da Nang Boys aren’t finished yet. ALVIN: That’s an extremely risky plan, mister… 2ND DA NANG BOY: Sukit. My name is Javed Sukit, but that is beside the point. When you’re done, the Triads will be after you, but luckily we’ve got a small place in Easter Bay. It’s not much, but it’ll be enough for you to hide out in. ALVIN: I’m not sure I should’ve come… SUKIT: Hey, it’s always good to have friends with the big guns when you’re new in town, (menacingly) right? ALVIN: Alright, I’ll be careful (turns to leave) SUKIT: Hey wait man, you haven’t told me your name yet. (turns around) And hey Max, go get this man a ‘K from our stash! ALVIN: Just call me Alvin. GAMEPLAY You now have an AK47 that has 150 shells. A blip has appeared on the map. It represents the entrance of the Triads’ underground base. When you arrive near the blip, you will find that it is situated in the exact same alley that you obtained the Katana in “A Fresh Start”. The entrance is guarded by two Triad members, and when you get near them, a cutscene will play. CUTSCENE TRIAD MEMBER 1: (in Chinese) Ay, ni gan shen me? TRIAD MEMBER 2: Ni shi wo men tong de ma? ALVIN: Dui bu qi… Alvin raises his AK47 and fires at the gang members, who are caught off guard. Both Triad members reach for their guns but are shot and fall, dead. GAMEPLAY A yellow marker has now appeared in front of the door leading to the underground base. Walk into it and you will be in the Triad Underground Base. The place is a large complex with rooms branching off from a main corridor. Inside each of these rooms are 2-5 Triads. There are also some Triads walking about in the main corridor itself. Attack a Triad member and the mission sequence will begin. A counter will appear under the HUD, keeping track of the amount of Triads you have killed. This part is not exceptionally difficult, because the Triads will run towards you and they are only wielding Tec-9’s and will be no match for your AK47. Once you have gunned down 25 Triads, the yellow marker will reappear at the entrance of the Triad Underground Base. You may keep gunning down Triads, but it is not necessary to do so. Walk into the yellow marker and you will re-emerge in Chinatown. A random four-door car will be parked in the entrance of the alley, the game will direct you to enter it. CUTSCENE TRIAD MEMBER: Get that motherf*cker! You will see three Triad cars zoom out of the alley way and turn towards you. These three cars will be a random combination of Elegy, Sultan, and Stratum. Since they are all street racers and your car is a 4-door sedan, this will be the difficult part of the mission. GAMEPLAY A new blip has appeared on your radar. It is in a territory that was previously locked by roadblocks, Easter Bay. The Triad cars will try to ram you off the road, so be careful when driving and try to use the little alleyways to lose them. Arrive at the red marker in Easter Bay to trigger a cutscene. It is a small shack behind the large Solarin Industries building. CUTSCENE Alvin walks into the shack, where two Da Nang Boys are sitting on dilapidated chairs. ALVIN: Tell Sukit that what he asked for is done. END OF CUTSCENE Mission passed. +$1500. +Respect. PHONE CALL CHRISTINE: Alvin! What are you, ignoring me now? ALVIN: No, Christine, wouldn’t do that. How have you been? CHRISTINE: Ahh, I’m fine, I’m always fine. Listen, there’s been word that you’ve been getting into trouble with the gangs, Alvin. People on the streets are saying that the Triads want you on their side. Maybe you should go pay them a visit in Chinatown. ALVIN: Chinatown.. CHRISTINE: What, is there a problem? ALVIN: Nah, it’s just (pauses).. the Da Nang Boys.. CHRISTINE: Oh, so it’s still the rivalry stirring up trouble. Anyways, I’m just tellin’ ya, get to Chinatown ‘cause there might be something in it for you. END OF PHONE CALL Easter Bay is now accessible. Also unlocked is the Triad Underground Base, which currently can be explored without hazard. There is an AK47 spawn in one of the far rooms. On the radar, the SFPD icon and Z icons are still in their places. The star icon has disappeared, while a new icon, a red circle design, has appeared outside the Chinatown alley, representing the Triads, your new employers. radicell
Jet Boat Chase Triads Strand CUTSCENE Alvin is standing in the middle of Chinatown. The camera is fixed on him as Chinatown is spinning round and round in the background. He is wandering about, looking for a familiar face, when a black-suited Triad man approaches from behind. The Triad man puts his arm around Alvin’s shoulder and shoves a gun into his abdomen. TRIAD MAN: Let’s take a walk. FADE OUT/IN The Triad man is walking with Alvin forcefully down a sloped road in Downtown. TRIAD MAN: Alvin Lee. Other than your last name, what else is there to convince yourself? ALVIN: What the hell are you talking about! TRIAD MAN: You probably haven’t noticed, but you killed dozens of your countrymen, Alvin. When you stormed into our base with that K, you dishonored and betrayed your country. Now normally the Triad organization would have sent out to kill you, but we’ve decided to let you live for a little longer. ALVIN: I really had no choice. I got a phone call to go to Pier 69, and when I did, this Indian guy.. TRIAD MAN: Javed Sukit? I should’ve guessed. He’s a high-ranking Snakehead guy who took charge after we killed their elderly leader. Sukit’s usually off in Melanesia or somewhere smuggling people onto cargo ships, but it seems it was your bad day. The two men have now stopped in front of a clothing shop that reads Wong’s Shirts and Pants. TRIAD MAN: Well, Alvin, now’s your chance to prove you are zhong guo ren. If you see Sukit, give him a slap in the face. The Triad man shoves Alvin into the clothing store. FADE OUT/IN Alvin walks out of the store in a Triad uniform, with a black ski mask over his face. Behind him, the Triad member walks out, dressed similar to Alvin. GAMEPLAY The game now directs you to go to a blip on the northern shore of San Fierro. “The Da Nang Boys are unloading weapons off their cargo ship. Intercept them before they obtain all their weapons.” You must get to the blip quickly, as a timer will be counting down from 1:15. Also, you must take the Triad man with you. When you arrive at the place, you will see two Dinghy’s moving between the shore and the cargo ship. The game directs you to enter a third Dinghy, which is parked ashore. Once you are in the Dinghy, ram one of the two Da Nang boats to initiate the next mission sequence. CUTSCENE DA NANG BOY: Triad ambush! Steer away! The two Da Nang Dinghy’s turn and start going in another direction. TRIAD MAN: I’ll drive, you shoot! GAMEPLAY The Triad man is now steering. You are armed with a MicroSMG with infinite ammo and you must shoot at the Da Nang Boys in first person shooter mode. On each Dinghy there is one gunman and one driver. A Boat Damage meter comes up on the HUD. If your boat takes too much damage, it will be destroyed and you will fail the mission. The gunmen will be easy to kill, but the drivers of the Dinghy will be tough to kill, for they are wearing body armor. Additionally, there will be more Da Nang Boys lined up on the San Fierro Shores, and atop the Garver and Kincaid Bridges, shooting at you. You can’t possibly kill them all, so the goal of the mission is to keep your boat in good shape until you pass the most hazardous locations, and then kill the Da Nang Dinghy-riders. When all four Da Nang boaters are finished, you will be instructed to drive near them. CUTSCENE Your boat is seen pulling up against a dock in Foster Valley. Alvin climbs out of the boat and stands on the pier. TRIAD MAN: That was some good sh*t there, Alvin. Then, without warning, he turns the boat and drives off. Alvin stands for a moment, confused, then turns around and understands – Javed Sukit has appeared at the pier and is angry. SUKIT: Should’ve left with your friend, eh Mr. Triad? Alvin stands in silence. Sukit has not realized that it is Alvin he is speaking to, as Alvin is wearing a ski mask. SUKIT: Give me the weapons. Alvin spins his hand and slaps Sukit across the face. Sukit’s eyes glower with shock for a second, before he stumbles backwards and falls into the San Fierro waters. Alvin walks up the steps and onto the Foster Valley main road. END OF CUTSCENE Mission passed. +2000. +Respect. South San Fierro is now unlocked. You can now go exploring Missionary Hills, Foster Valley, and Fierro Water. An on-screen message says "Triad outfit delivered to Wong's Shirts and Pants in Chinatown." The suit is a complete Triad outfit with the ski mask used in the mission. The Dinghy will now always be parked along the northern shores of San Fierro. PHONE CALL SUKIT: Dammit Alvin! I need you here! Those Triads have seriously f*cked with me for the last time. Just now I was slapped in the face by one of them and it got me wet! Those Chinese motherf*ckers are really going to get it now.. ALVIN: Uhh, well you really want to kill that guy, don’t you? SUKIT: Definitely! Say, I’d really love to put a bullet into his unmentionables. ALVIN: (pauses) Well, do you have any idea who he is? SUKIT: That bastard was wearing a ski mask. ALVIN: Okay, I’ll get back in town. Still Pier 69, right? SUKIT: You’re out of town? Where? ALVIN: Uhh, nowhere. I’ll get there as soon as I can. END OF PHONE CALL On the map, the Triad blip has disappeared while in turn the Star blip has reappeared at Pier 69. The SFPD and Z icons are still in their usual places. We will continue with the Da Nang/Triads strand next.

radicell
Fast and Furious Da Nang Boys Strand Alvin walks under the large green gate and into Pier 69 as the screen fades to black and the mission name appears on the bottom right. CUTSCENE Alvin is walking on the upper decks of Pier 69 as Javed Sukit saunters up to him and slaps him on the back. ALVIN: Have you dried up, Sukit? SUKIT: This isn’t f*ckin’ funny, Alvin. I f*ckin’ swear, those f*ckin’ Triads have f*ckin’ f*cked with me for the last f*uckin’ time. Now I know you’re here to hit them, but this time we gotta hit ‘em big, hit ‘em where it hurts the most. ALVIN: What do you have in mind? SUKIT: (motioning to some large boxes off to one side) I was thinking of putting these newly-acquired satchel bombs to good use. ALVIN: Blow ‘em all to sh*t. SUKIT: Yes, but the only problem is that you have to be fast and furious. Any of the Triads see you hangin’ around, they’ll shoot. ALVIN: Don’t worry. After all, there’s plenty of cars on the streets. SUKIT: I see where you’re going. Nice to see you’re thinking for yourself, Alvin. You’re really making your way up the criminal food chain. FADE OUT/IN Alvin is now wearing a backpack and is stuffing satchel charges into it. After about a dozen bombs are in the backpack, he shuts the pack and starts walking out of Pier 69. SUKIT: Remember, Alvin. Fast and furious. GAMEPLAY As the gameplay fades in, you will notice several blips on your map in the Chinatown area. These blips represent red coronas on the sidewalks, much like the kind from the courier missions in San Andreas. In total, there are 9 coronas, and you must throw a satchel charge into each one of them, drive-by style. Jack any car and an on-screen message will instruct you in doing drive-by’s. Now drive to any one of the coronas, look left or right using Q or E, and press LMB to throw the satchel charge. If you miss the corona for any of the satchels, you must get out of your car and pick it up before continuing the mission. Once a satchel bomb has been thrown into the corona, the corona will disappear and you must go to other coronas. You have a total of 4 minutes to throw all 9 satchels into the coronas. Also, once a satchel bomb has been thrown on target, all the nearby Triads that spawn on the street will run towards you, trying to pull you out of your car. Some of them will carry 9mm’s, and will shoot at you. Therefore, you must hurry and get all 9 satchels on target without getting yourself killed. Once all 9 coronas have had satchels thrown into them, a message will display “Now get down to Oceanside to pick up a bike.” This will start the second part of the mission. Oceanside is a part of San Fierro you’ve never accessed before, so get down there and find a NRG-500 parked in front of Wheel Arch Angels in Ocean Flats. The NRG-500 has a red arrow above it, and you should get on the bike. Getting on the bike will trigger a roof jumping sequence, much like the G-Spotlight mission in Vice City. Drive to a staircase on the border of North San Fierro and Oceanside, marked by a blip. Steer your bike up the staircase to get on the roof. Now, you must complete six jumps across the rooftops in Chinatown. Each time, you must jump through a large red corona in between the rooftops. Every time you jump through a corona, you will automatically throw a satchel charge down to the street below. If one jump is not made (you miss the corona or you miss the opposite rooftop) then you must start all over from the initial staircase. When you have jumped through all six coronas and made it to the shaft of light on the last rooftop, a cutscene will play. CUTSCENE All fifteen satchels you dropped explode. Civilians and Triad members will be thrown to the ground in pools of blood. The camera pans to see chain reactions of exploding cars, a fallen building, and generally utter chaos in Chinatown. The camera will then pan upwards to see a police helicopter shining its searchlight downwards. A FBI car will then be seen driving up to the debris. END OF CUTSCENE Mission passed. +$4000. +Respect. The mission is passed, but you now have 5 wanted level stars. An on-screen message says Oceanside is now unlocked, meaning that the entire San Fierro has been unlocked. A second on-screen message says that the NRG-500 bike and satchel charges will always be available at Wheel Arch Angels in Ocean Flats. The rooftop you are now on is outside of Chinatown, in Calton Heights. The next mission will not be triggered by the traditional red shaft of light; instead it will be triggered simply by entering the Chinatown district…

radicell
Unmasking of the Past Triads Strand No Triad icons are displayed on the map. However, if the player enters the Chinatown district, a jet black Stratum will drive up to Alvin, and its occupants will get out and shoot at him. Alvin may shoot back, and even kill the Triads, but that will only warrant more Stratums to come. Letting the Triads shoot you to death is required to continue the Da Nang/Triads Strand. When Alvin does get shot to death, a cutscene will play instead of the usual WASTED message. CUTSCENE Alvin is squirming on the ground, in a pool of blood. The Triads lean downwards and stand him upright. He is shoved into the black Stratum, and the doors are shut, then locked. The Triads get in and the car drives off, leaving the screen to fade to black. FADE OUT/IN Alvin is sitting on a chair, his face bloody and beaten. He is in a walled room with red spotlights, and a painting of a dragon hanging on the back wall. The camera turns to see his captor – the same Triad man from the mission Jet Boat Chase. ALVIN: (coming round) Ahh.. TRIAD MAN: Finally, you are waking up. ALVIN: You. The Triads. What do you want? TRIAD MAN: To kill you. As you probably guessed. ALVIN: Why? What do I mean to you? TRIAD MAN: Well, we know you’re working with the Nang, but that’s not all. We also know about your childhood. How an attack on your home left you and your brother orphaned. How Ahito Kiyasaki raised you and brought you to Hong Kong. We know everything, Alvin. TRIAD MAN: Why are you here, Alvin? The minute we saw you, when you first “came” to San Fierro, we didn’t like you. Then you start working for a crazy b*tch and a rival gang. It took us awhile to understand that you were one of the Lee Orphans. ALVIN: How do you know so much about my past? The Triad man squats in front of Alvin, his eyes cold and dark. Alvin stares back into the dark brown eyes, and the camera pans, allowing us to see a light of realization flicker in Alvin’s eyes. ALVIN: (whispering to himself) You killed them… you killed my parents… TRIAD MAN: Your father was causing trouble with the local Triad in the mainland, Alvin. ALVIN: You killed my parents… TRIAD MAN: Actually, Alvin… I didn’t kill either of them. BLUR INTO GREYSCALE Half a dozen black-clad men are seen moving across a courtyard stealthily towards the front door of a large mansion, with automatic pistols in their hands. One of the men, wearing sunglasses, plants a charge on the front door of the mansion. The man runs back to his team. YOUNG TRIAD MAN: Blast in 3…2…1… Now we see a middle-aged Asian woman walking inside the mansion, whose decorations and adornments make it obvious that this is taking place in China. All of a sudden, a large fireball erupts to the woman’s right. The woman is thrown backwards from the shockwave and her head lands awkwardly on a kitchen counter. In slow-motion, the woman falls to the ground, and as her eyelids close, it is obvious that she has died. A middle-aged Chinese man, presumably the woman’s husband, rushes down a set of stairs. His eyes catch the image of his dead wife, then turn to the six black-clad attackers, who have just entered the building. He instinctively turns and runs for the back door, a second before the intricate carving on the staircase handle behind him is blown off by the attackers’ bullets. The camera is now outside, winding down towards a running figure at a cinematic angle. The Asian man jumps down the stairs of his docks and into a boat, just as the attackers are exiting the back door, giving chase. After a bit of struggling with the ignition, the Asian man zooms off in his boat, leaving the attackers on shore, firing at the boat with their guns, but to no avail. BLUR OUT OF GREYSCALE ALVIN: So you’re saying, my father is not dead? TRIAD MAN: Not as far as I’m aware, no. ALVIN: But wasn’t the whole point of the mission to eliminate him? TRIAD MAN: All I know is, after that point, he never bothered the local Triad again. That’s all that matters. ALVIN: So how am I part of all this? TRIAD MAN: After the attack, we got Ahito Kiyasaki to adopt and raise you. To make sure you would never get in the way, try to get revenge or something. ALVIN: I thought that Ahito was f*ckin’ Yakuza. TRIAD MAN: You really believed him, right? Did he ever tell you anything about the Yakuza? Mention any names? ALVIN: No, but he would rave about them when I was a teenager, telling me how good life was with them in a place called Liberty. Why the f*ck are you telling me all this anyways? Who the f*ck do you think you are? TRIAD MAN: My name is Ran Fa Li, for your information. And know why I’m telling you this? Because in two minutes, you’re going to be dead, and I thought I’d let you in on some long-awaited information before you meet your end. ALVIN: Well, mister Ran… Alvin lunges out of his chair and punches Ran Fa Li, causing him to recoil backwards. However, the Chinese man pulls out his MicroSMG and aims it at Alvin. The camera turns to see Ran Fa Li’s face and his mouth saying the words RAN FA LI: You’re clueless, boy. GAMEPLAY Ran Fa Li is shooting at you with his MicroSMG. All your weapons are gone, so you can only use your fists to knock him out. The hard part about this is getting near him. He will constantly shoot at you, so you will recoil backwards with every shot taken. If you take too many shots, your health runs out and you are WASTED, failing the mission. Once you start punching him he will stop shooting and it will be easy to knock him to the ground. Once he is knocked out, a cutscene will play. CUTSCENE A ground shot of Alvin running down the corridors of the Triad Underground Base, with Triad members chasing after him. A birds-eye shot of Alvin running out of the Chinatown alley, the Triad members in hot pursuit. Alvin gets into one of the parked street racers outside the alley and zooms off in the direction of Pier 69, followed shortly by two jet-black Stratums on which the chasing Triad members are riding. GAMEPLAY “Make it back to Pier 69 safely!” An on-screen message displays. You must get safely back to the Da Nang territory. The chasing cars are violent and will try to flip you over or ram you until you explode. If you are on foot, they will try to run you over. Once you and your pursuers enter the Pier 69 gates, the Da Nang Boys inside Pier 69 will shoot at the jet-black Stratums. The screen will fade to black after both Stratums are blown up. CUTSCENE Alvin dials a number on his phone and holds it to his ear. ALVIN: Yes, Terry Lee please. (Dialing tone) TERRY LEE: Yes, hello? ALVIN: Terry, it’s Alvin, how’ve you been? TERRY: Everything’s fine for me. You sound stressed, what’s happened? ALVIN: Listen Terry. Things have changed. I’ve just uncovered a huge secret and nearly got killed for it. TERRY: Jesus– ALVIN: Ahito is not Yakuza. Ahito is not part of the Yakuza. He’s been undercover for the Triads for almost thirty years now. TERRY: Triads? ALVIN: Yes, Terry. And the same Triad that killed our parents. Can you believe it, Terry? And one more thing, one more thing. Our real father is still alive. TERRY: (pauses) What? ALVIN: It’s true, Terry. The same man who was going to kill me told it to me himself. TERRY: Sorry, Alvin. I really need some time to think about this. I’ll call you back. END OF CUTSCENE Mission passed. The next mission marker is very close to where you are now, right in front of Pier 69.
Struff Bunstridge
This is fantastic stuff, radicell. Between this and Ghost, I'm feeling like a bit of a dullard, must start writing something this weekend. Keep it going mate!

radicell
Great mission. A lot of stuff is unfolding. I feel Terry somehow knows about their father being alive. Your great experience with game-scripts is indeed showing itself. Four Dragons Hell Da Nang Boys Strand CUTSCENE Javed Sukit and Alvin are walking along the rails of Pier 69, engaging in conversation. SUKIT: You really need to go hit ‘em up, Alvin. Go bang some Da Nang energy into their heads. All this time, you’ve been hurting them, but you’ve been running from them. It’s time to change that. ALVIN: What are you saying, Sukit? SUKIT: Alvin, you know I hate those Triads as much as you do. One of ‘em f*ckin’ knocked me into cold water. But this mission I’ve planned, it’s just for you. Now, there’s this guy I need you to meet. He calls himself a cop, but really he’s more of a freelance gangbanger. I believe you’ve met. Sitting on a park bench in front of the spot where Sukit has stopped, is Officer Cantor of the SFPD. ALVIN: Officer Cantor.. CANTOR: Mister Alvin! I’ve been hearin’ about you recently! Hearing you’ve been a bad boy with those Triads. Well, that’s why I’m here. ALVIN: You’ve got something for me? CANTOR: Ran Fa Li’s headed out to Las Venturas right now in his helicopter. To join the Triads’ new casino development or something. Anyways, I’ve got the police whirly booked for us, and we can go out there and do a blast on the casino. ALVIN: Sounds good to me. Let’s go. FADE OUT/IN Alvin and Cantor have driven up to the SFPD police station in a police car. CANTOR: The helicopter’s up on the roof. I’ll fly you in there, we land on the casino. You get off, fight your way through the building. When you’re done, give me a call and I’ll get in there and take you back. You okay with that? ALVIN: Actually, Officer, I thought I’d try a hand at flying myself… GAMEPLAY You are now in control of a Police Maverick, hovering above the SFPD headquarters. A blip has appeared on the map, quite a ways away from the San Fierro mainland out at sea, representing the Four Dragons Casino in Las Venturas. As you fly, on-screen messages flash onto the screen, instructing you in flying a plane and shooting from the Police Maverick. ALVIN: Ahh, how the hell do you fly this thing? CANTOR: Dammit! I knew I should’ve flown. Now you’re gonna get us all killed. ALVIN: Ahh don’t worry, I’ve got it under control, for now. (About halfway through your journey) ALVIN: When the hell are we gonna get there? CANTOR: You better worry on your controls instead of the journey. I’m feelin’ dizzy just lookin’ at you. When you’ve arrived at Las Venturas and the Four Dragons Casino, the game alerts “Shoot everyone on the roof with your machine guns!” You cannot exit the helicopter at any time, and you must shoot down the gunmen on the roof. The gunmen are wielding SMG’s, so kill them all before they make your heli run out of health, which is indicated by a health bar beneath the HUD. When all the gunmen are dead, a cutscene will play. CUTSCENE The Police Helicopter lands on the roof of the Four Dragons Casino. Alvin gets out and Cantor moves into the pilot’s seat. ALVIN: I’ll be calling you. CANTOR: Wait, Mister Alvin, before you go, take this. Officer Cantor reaches into the heli and pulls out a menacing, yet oddly-shaped gun of some sort. CANTOR: My pops made this and gave it to me. The gun fires 9-Inch Nails that can kill if aimed at the head or chest. And, if you’re in for interrogation, the Closer the Nails hit towards the guy’s jewels, the more it will Hurt. ALVIN: I imagine it’ll come in handy. I’ll be on my way now, see you soon. GAMEPLAY You are now inside the top floor of the Four Dragons Casino, wielding a Nail Gun. The Nail Gun is part of a previously unseen weapon category, the melee projectiles. This weapon category is much like the Thrown Weapons category, but it aims to concuss the enemy instead of damaging them through explosions. There are ten stairwells to navigate, with a corridor in between each of them. Triad members and Chinese guys will run towards you and fire at you with 9mm’s, at first. As you make your way down the building, they will come at you with more deadly weapons, from Tec-9 to MicroSMG to Shotgun to finally SMG. Fortunately, the Nail Gun reloads fast, and can disarm any bad guy with one shot. When you get to the first floor, there will be lots of enemies waiting for you, firing at you with SMG’s. This is when you can pull out your other weapons and waste them. After all the bad guys on the floor are dead, a cutscene will play. CUTSCENE Inside an executive office, the alarm has gone off. The casino leader is giving orders. SUZIE: Dai lo, our building is under attack! WOOZIE: Call Ran Fa Li and tell him to refrain from landing until the emergency is over. SUZIE: Got it, sir! Guppy, let’s go kill the man! GUPPY: Right. The two Triad assistants run out of the office, but not before grabbing two Combat Shotguns off an end table nearby. GAMEPLAY On-screen message: “Kill the two Triad assistants!” You must now kill the two men. They will shoot at you with Combat Shotgun, which deals a lot of damage, so be careful. When they are both down, a cutscene plays. CUTSCENE Guppy and Suzie are dying, sprawled in a pool of blood. GUPPY: (whispering) Protect the boss at all costs… Suzie turns, and with his last fragments of energy, picks up the combat shotgun, aims for a space on the wall, and fires. The camera follows the bullet in slow-motion as it flies across the length of the first-floor lobby, and eventually hitting a red button on the wall that says Lockdown. The alarm gets louder now as metal grilles descend above doors and archways. A large grille is descending over the main doors of the Four Dragons Casino, but Alvin reacts quickly and dives for the bottom of the doors, slamming them open and making it out of the casino just before the grille clamps down firmly onto the ground. After getting up and brushing the dust off himself, Alvin pulls out his phone and starts dialing… FADE OUT/IN The helicopter is flying out of the Las Venturas mainland, with Cantor flying and Alvin sitting in the passenger seat. As they fly, several boats are giving chase behind them. CANTOR: Damn Triads just won’t give up! Alvin, take that ammobelt in the back and give ‘em a piece of you! GAMEPLAY You are now in first-person shooter mode with an infinite-ammo M60. On-screen message: “Destroy the Triad boats!” Around a dozen boats will be chasing you, each one appearing after another one has been destroyed. As you destroy boats, Cantor will shout exclamations. CANTOR: (after the first boat destroyed) Eat that, f*ckin’ Chinese! CANTOR: (after the third boat destroyed) Go rot into the ocean! CANTOR: (after the sixth boat destroyed) Sink, you cheap bastards! CANTOR: (after the ninth boat destroyed) Go back to Hong f*ckin’ Kong! CANTOR: (after the last boat destroyed) There, that’s the last of ‘em. We’ll be arriving any minute. CUTSCENE The Police Maverick lands on the roof of the SFPD building. CANTOR: It was great working with you today, Mister Alvin. Guess I wasn’t wrong when you first came to me. ALVIN: Guess you weren’t. CANTOR: I’m lookin’ forward to working with you again, hopefully blowing something up for you. ALVIN: I’m looking forward to your explosion. END OF CUTSCENE Mission passed. +$5000. +Respect. PHONE CALL ALVIN: Yes? RAN FA LI: Alvin, you really shouldn’t have done what you did today. What you did today will end up getting you into a lot of trouble. You’ve really asked for the most punishing of punishments. You know it, I know it. ALVIN: What’s you point, Ran Fa Li? RAN FA LI: You never really know what you’ve got until it’s gone, Alvin. Be on the lookout. END OF PHONE CALL You have completed the Da Nang/Triads strand. No more Star/Triad icons will be appearing on the map. Also, the Police Maverick will always be found atop the SFPD building, and the Nail Gun will be found inside the SFPD building. Picking it up, however, will grant you a two-star wanted level, so be prepared to fight your way back outside. Rhoda
Really starting to develop now, it's looking great. I like the subtle references to popular media and previous GTA characters as well.
mark-2007
I've missed a fair bit, it's great ctahcing up. Good missions there, especially the twist about his father. By the way, Guppy died in The Da Nang Thang I think, as he piloted the helicopter that went down. The Casino was purchased by Woozie after that so that's incorrect canonically. Extreme nitpicking there I even got a cheap giggle from this... ALVIN: I’m looking forward to your explosion. I'm sorry...
radicell
Yes, I do enjoy putting jokey statements and references to popular culture in the characters' dialogue. For the sake of this game-script, we'll just say that Guppy survived the heli crash in The Da Nang Thang just like CJ did. This is a two-mission post, since the first one is simply a street race. As always, feedback, comments, and criticism are welcome. Snail Trail II Zeppelin/Survivalists CUTSCENE ALVIN: Hello? Anybody home? VOICE: Is this who I think it is? Alvin turns a corner and sees a living room. An old man in his 60’s, with white hair, is reclining on a couch. ZEPPELIN: Come here, boy. ALVIN: What do you want with me, Mr. Zeppelin? ZEPPELIN: Don’t bother with formalities, just call me Zeppelin. Let me tell you something about us, Alvin. We survivalists hate all the gangbangers out there. We grow our weed out in The Highlands, and we sleep each night in nothing but a G-string. Now livin’ on this island here, watching the city of San Fierro change – we think it needs some… major changes. We need something big to happen, to explode, to go BOOM, to alert the Fierrans of our presence. ALVIN: Yeah, I get you. You need someone to take over the town, and that someone should have affiliations with you. ZEPPELIN: Bang on target. Exactly that kind of thinking why we chose you in the first place. ALVIN: Well, Zepp, what can I say, I’m flattered. Anything I can do right now? ZEPPELIN: You’d have to prove yourself, boy. You look pretty promising, and normally I would trust you right away, but the last time I did that the guy stabbed us in the back, and the time before that the guy left the country. So, there’s a little event I’d like you to race. How’s your driving skills, boy? ALVIN: Pretty good for an Asian. ZEPPELIN: Good. Best of luck, Alvin. This race isn’t like any other you’ve done. GAMEPLAY “Get to the starting grid!” It is located right in front of your initial hotel in Calton Heights. When you get there, the five competitors will already be in their vehicles. This race is comprised of very slow vehicles. The five vehicles you will be racing against are the Tug, Mower, Sweeper, Baggage, and Forklift. The sixth vehicle, the one you will be using, is the Tractor. When you get into the Tractor, the race will start. The race will start off around North San Fierro, going down the Windy Windy Windy Road, and under the tunnels in Paradiso. Later it will cross the Gant Bridge, and the final checkpoint is located at the end of Bayside Marina. Only collecting the final checkpoint in first place will trigger Mission passed. +$4000. Enemy of My Enemy Zeppelin/Survivalists CUTSCENE Alvin and Zeppelin are back inside Zeppelin’s rusty shack in The Highlands, reclining on the couches engaged in conversation. ZEPPELIN: You had certainly proven worthy of yourself, Alvin. How did you find the race? ALVIN: It was certainly a new experience to race with the Tractor. I remember driving one of those, when I was a kid, I ploughed and grazed, did some farming. ZEPPELIN: Your childhood is certainly more than ordinary. ALVIN: (turning away) Don’t get me started. ZEPPELIN: I’m sorry. Anyways, I’ve got a confession to make, Alvin. I haven’t been completely honest about… our current state of affairs. ALVIN: What’s going on, Zepp? ZEPPELIN: You see, when I told you we never see any Asians, I was lying. And when I told you we hate all the gangs, I was lying as well. ALVIN: Okay… so, Triads or Nang? ZEPPELIN: Actually, Alvin, our only alliance is with the Yakuza. ALVIN: Yakuza.. ZEPPELIN: They’ve tried a few times to expand down here. San Fierro’s basically the China of San Andreas, and it only seems right that they should have at least a base here. However, everytime a team of Yakuza’s fly in, the Triads take them out. So Alvin, seeing as you’re working against the Triads, I’d like you to do a little escort mission on our Japanese guest. ALVIN: He’s flying in right now? ZEPPELIN: Yes. They are serious this time, Alvin. If you can help them get into town safely, the Yakuza’s got a place in San Fierro. If you can link the guy up with your Vietnamese buddies, that’d be even better. ALVIN: Well, Zepp, I guess the enemy of my enemy is my friend. So it’s not a problem. I’m assuming you want to meet here afterwards? ZEPPELIN: You a mind-reader or somethin’? ALVIN: (shrugs) I guess I’m just a natural protagonist in a mission-based action-style video game. GAMEPLAY On-screen message: “Go to the airport to pick up the Yakuza guest.” The blip is at the arrivals hall of Easter Bay Airport. When you have found the blip, the game instructs you to get a four-door car. Enter the blip in a four-door car to trigger a cutscene. CUTSCENE Alvin picks up his cell phone and dials. (Dialing tone) ALVIN: Hey Zepp! ZEPPELIN: Alvin. Have you picked up our guest? ALVIN: That’s exactly what I’m calling for, Zepp. What the hell’s the guy’s name? ZEPPELIN: Hold on, Alvin. (pause) That would be Ichiro Kamatari. ALVIN: Kamatari. Ichiro Kamatari. Alright, got it! We now see an Asian man in a Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses, carrying a backpack. He has wandered into the arrivals hall and is glancing around. Alvin sees this peculiar sight, and approaches the man. ALVIN: Are you Ichiro Kamatari? ICHIRO: Yes, where is Mr. Zeppelin? ALVIN: I’ll be taking you to him safely. I certainly expected something less… casual. ICHIRO: It’s part of the plan to keep the Triads from noticing. We have come down here a few times in expensive Japanese suits, and they did not like it one bit. ALVIN: I see. Let’s go. FADE OUT/IN You are back inside your four-door car, with Ichiro in the backseat. Again, Alvin pulls out his cell phone and dials. ALVIN: Sukit, are you free? SUKIT: You got the right time, Alvin. Just got back from Guam. What you need? ALVIN: I thought it’d be a good way to eliminate the Triads if we helped the Yakuza gain some turf in San Fierro. I just picked up a high-ranking Yakuza guy, I figured you might like to meet him, since it’s in both of your interests. SUKIT: That’s a great idea. The enemy of my enemy.. ALVIN: .. is my friend. Only the truest statement in the world. So I’ll pick you up in front of the Pier? SUKIT: That’d be fine. Where are we headed? ALVIN: A shack in The Highlands, where a third ally is waiting. GAMEPLAY On-screen message: “Pick up Javed Sukit!” Now you have to drive to a blip in front of Pier 69, where Sukit will be waiting. During the journey, Alvin will converse with Ichiro. ALVIN: The Vietnamese gang leader would like to meet you, you and him share a common enemy. ICHIRO: The Triads? ALVIN: Yes. I’d expect a welcoming committee, but you are in safe hands. ICHIRO: Thanks. ALVIN: I’m Alvin. There’s a question I need to ask you. ICHIRO: What is it, Alvin? ALVIN: Is there a guy called Ahito Kiyasaki in your organization? Ichiro doesn’t say anything for quite a while. After a while, he responds ICHIRO: Yes, he used to be one of the the most respected. ALVIN: Used to be? ICHIRO: Four days ago our main base in Liberty was attacked by several men in ski masks. We lost a lot of people, but we managed to get mugshots of all the men in split-second moments with their masks off. Most of them were Triad, all except one, the leader. Ahito. ALVIN: And then, what happened? ICHIRO: Ahito must have known that we had uncovered him as a traitor, because he never showed up. Our men are looking for him all over town, but he is devilish and sneaky, hard to find. We believe he may have left the city. ALVIN: Do you know anything about his personal life? Family, children? ICHIRO: He never had any children of his own, but he used to talk about two brothers he had adopted. When he arrives in Liberty a month ago, a friend asked him where they were. He angrily told the friend to shut up, and since then they’ve never talked again. ALVIN: And after that, no one asked him about it anymore? ICHIRO: No one. No one at all. Stop in the blip at Pier 69, where Javed Sukit is waiting. CUTSCENE Alvin and Ichiro get out of the car to greet Sukit. Alvin takes the initiative and makes introductions. ALVIN: Sukit, this man is Ichiro Kamatari, one of the Yakuza leaders. His arrival here is very helpful to our cause of eliminating the Triads and taking over the city. ALVIN: (to Ichiro) This is Javed Sukit, Indian leader of the Vietnamese gang, the Da Nang Boys. They are the Triads’ biggest enemy here, and I’m sure that the two gangs’ collaboration will be a win-win situation for all. ICHIRO: (laughs) All but the Triads, of course. (to Sukit) Call me Ichiro, nice to meet you. SUKIT: Javed Sukit. Alvin’s very resourceful, you’ll enjoy working with him. ICHIRO: Good. Let’s get back to the hideout before the Triads noti– From somewhere behind the camera, a loud, rabid scream is heard. Then the sound of a body splattering onto the sidewalk; as the camera pans towards the source of the noice, we see a Triad man’s mutilated body splattered in blood on the sidewalk. Cradled in his hands is a PSG-1 Sniper Rifle. On the top of the building, we see Zeppelin, staring down at Alvin, Sukit, and Ichiro. ZEPPELIN: You gotta be a better escort, Alvin. Thank god I had decided to follow you. Standing out in the street with your VIP? If it weren’t for me, your VIP would certainly have VIP – very instantly perished! SUKIT: Everybody in the car! ALVIN: (shocked) O.. Okay.. Sukit gets into the four-door car, and so does Ichiro, but not before casting a contemptuous look at Alvin. GAMEPLAY On-screen message: “Get back to the hideout safely, the Triads are after you” A blip is now at the shack in The Highlands. You must get there, fast, and there are three Triad cars on your tail. Use the small alleyways and ramps to lose the Triads, and make your way cross the Gant Bridge and park your car in the blip in front of Zeppelin’s shack. CUTSCENE Alvin and his three allies, Zeppelin, Ichiro, and Sukit, are walking into Zeppelin’s living room. Sukit and Zeppelin are getting themselves some drinks. Alvin take Ichiro aside to apologize for his mistake. ALVIN: Ichiro, I’m terribly sorry about the escort. I know it wasn’t done right and could’ve gotten you killed– ICHIRO: Don’t worry about it, Alvin. In Japan, we have a saying – You mustn’t dwell on your mistakes, you must learn from them, and move on. Now I’m the last person you would expect to consult a maxim, but I believe in it – and so should you. ALVIN: Thanks, Ichiro. So, we’re cool? ICHIRO: Yes. Just don’t let it happen again. My subordinates shall be arriving soon in their helicopters. My safe arrival has cemented the Yakuza a base in San Fierro. You can leave now, I assume. Zeppelin and I’ve still got some things to discuss, but you go home and get some rest. ALVIN: Alright, Ichiro. It was nice meeting you. ICHIRO: By the way, Alvin. How do you know Ahito Kiyasaki? ALVIN: Ahito? I was… I was one of the kids he adopted. With a nod, Alvin turns and heads for the door, leaving Ichiro to contemplate the new associate he had just met. END OF CUTSCENE Mission passed. +$2000. +Respect. PHONE CALL ALVIN: Hello? AHITO: How you doing, my son? ALVIN: Don’t call me that, Ahito. We both know I’m not your son. AHITO: Oh really? Last time I checked, your other father was dead. ALVIN: Actually, Ahito, I know the truth. My real father is alive. You’re just a fake, Ahito. A phony. AHITO: (pauses) Well, I’ve found that you’re doing better than I expected in San Fierro. ALVIN: I’ve found out the truth about myself. About my parents and Ran Fa Li. And I’ve also found out the truth about you, Ahito. AHITO: Me? What is there to say about me? ALVIN: I know you’re not really Yakuza, Alvin. Ran Fa Li said so himself, and so did Ichiro Kamatari, who I just met today. AHITO: Well, then, who am I really working with, Alvin? ALVIN: The Triads, obviously. AHITO: No, no, boy. You are mistaken once again. Guided blindly by those you do not trust, you’ve ended up stranded on a deserted island of fear and deception. ALVIN: Whoever you’re working with, Ahito. I’m taking you down. AHITO: I raised you up, and you’re going to take me down. Ahh, how ironic. Don’t jump to conclusions, Alvin; I’ll be watching your every move. END OF PHONE CALL On the map, the Z icon has disappeared, and the only remaining icon is the SFPD icon, representing Officer Cantor at the police station. radicell
vicedude: What the hell are you talking about? mark-2007: I've never thought of it that way, but you've just given me something interesting for Zeppelin's background, that I might consider putting into his dialogue. Nearing the end of my school year, I've got a lot of tests, assignments, etc. due soon, so I might not be able to update this as frequently as I'd like to. So enjoy this one, and I'll try to get the next one up within a week. This is a short mission that's not as revealing as the previous ones, however the phone calls that follow are a pivotal point in the storyline. Oh, and see if anyone can catch the slight GTA:SA reference in the mission. Parasite Officer Cantor CUTSCENE Alvin walks to the reception area of the police station and talks to the man behind the window. OFFICER: How may I help you, sir? ALVIN: Actually, I’m here to see Officer Cantor. OFFICER: Oh. Well, you’ll find him in his office, it’s right up the stairs and a left. FADE OUT/IN We see a moderately adorned room, with pale yellow walls and a simple office desk. A backpack is lying on the desk, and inside, we see two packs of cocaine. The sound of a doorknob is heard, and Alvin walks into the room. From behind the camera, Officer Cantor stands up. CANTOR: Mister Alvin, nice to see you again! ALVIN: Hello Officer. CANTOR: So I’ve been hearing you’re working to take over the city, eh? ALVIN: I’ve certainly thought about that. Got a couple of people I need to take down, and some connections would certainly help. CANTOR: I understand you’ve met up with Zepp? He’s one of the wisest gang members in town. ALVIN: So I’ve discovered. Say, Officer, why’d you call me here? CANTOR: I’d like you to consider a personal favor. A friend of mine who works for the agency is going to leave America tonight. He’s departing from the San Fierro Airport, but unfortunately, he’s built up so much suspicion over the years, that there’s a bunch of other agents posted on him. One DEA, one FBI, a Russian, a Cuban double agent, and his pay masters. ALVIN: And to start afresh, he needs these people eliminated? CANTOR: Yes, but it needs to look accidental. I would do it myself if it were simply a matter of planting charges and blowing up their cars. But no, that would make it look suspicious, and my friend would be held back. So I’ve ordered a pack of car-control bugs for you to use. I myself have had a great experience with them. Instructions are in the toys van parked outside. GAMEPLAY You are outside the SFPD building, and a Top Fun van is located down the street. Five blips have appeared across town, and before entering the Top Fun van, you must go plant bugs on all five vehicles that the blips represent. On-screen message: “To plant a bug, get into the vehicle and press LMB.” The five vehicles’ locations are as follows: The DEA agent’s Merit in the parking lot of Foster Mall. The FBI agent’s FBI Truck in the Vank Hoff Hotel’s parking lot. The Russian’s Sultan parked in front of Misty’s in Oceanside. The Cuban’s Alpha parked atop Missionary Hill. The pay masters’ Sentinel in front of Burger Shot in North San Fierro. You have six minutes (6:00) to bug all the vehicles, then return to your Top Fun van. CUTSCENE We see individual shots of all the people getting into their cars. Then, a shot inside the DEA agent’s Merit and we hear a “click” sound as the car doors automatically lock themselves. The same thing happens in the vehicles of all the other agents, and finally, the camera winds back down onto your Top Fun van, inside which you now sit. GAMEPLAY You are now in control of the first vehicle, the DEA agent’s Merit. The game directs you, “Drive the car into the ocean!” After the first vehicle has submerged underwater, you will be in control of the FBI Truck, the Sultan, the Alpha, and the Sentinel. Each vehicle you control needs to be dunked into the water, to trigger the end cutscene. CUTSCENE Alvin walks into Officer Cantor’s office. CANTOR: All done? ALVIN: All done. I have to say, as well, that it was an ingenious idea. The guys were stuck helplessly in their own cars. CANTOR: Alright, and no suspicious citizens to deal with? ALVIN: I don’t know, probably some were bemused but just shrugged it off as bad driving. And their windows were conveniently tinted, so I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about. CANTOR: Okay, that’s good. Listen, Mister Alvin. I’ve made some calls, seems like your old friend, Christine, needs you for something. She’s not too happy that you’ve been ignoring her lately. END OF CUTSCENE Mission passed. +3500. +Respect. PHONE CALL ALVIN: Hello? ICHIRO: Is this you, Alvin? ALVIN: Ichiro, thanks for calling. ICHIRO: I have important news for you, Alvin. Last night, my men arrived in San Fierro. This morning, I drove them around the city, and one of my men said he spotted Ahito Kiyasaki. ALVIN: Oh my god.. ICHIRO: So, all I’m telling you is, the man may have been mistaken, but keep your eye out. He could be right under our noses. ALVIN: Thanks, Ichiro. It was really important that you let me know. ICHIRO: We’re as keen to get him as you are, Alvin. We’ll talk later. END OF PHONE CALL PHONE CALL TERRY LEE: Hey Alvin, you been okay? ALVIN: I’m fine, Terry. How are you? TERRY: Thought I’d tell you something. I’m at the airport right now, Alvin. And I’ve booked a flight to San Fierro. ALVIN: You’re coming over here? TERRY: There’s something that needs to be laid on the table, something I need to come clean with. ALVIN: Okay? What is it? TERRY: I can’t do it over the phone, and that’s one of the reasons I’m joining you over there. ALVIN: Well, you certainly chose a good time, Terry. Our father’s just been spotted. TERRY: Father? You mean Ahito? I thought he was in Liberty. ALVIN: It seems that he’s been advancing in his plans to eliminate us. I’ve also got some other people to deal with here and some friends to help me, but your help would be invaluable. TERRY: Alright bro, lookin’ forward to seeing ya. Rhoda
Great mission, it's really developing nicely. I missed the reference though, was it the fact there was the DEA involved?
radicell
Great mission, it's really developing nicely. I missed the reference though, was it the fact there was the DEA involved? Actually, if you remember a cutscene from the mission "N.O.E." I believe it was, Carl Johnson says, "Why won't these guys come after me?" to which Mike Toreno responds, "Oh, they can't because they're all posted on me. One DEA, one FBI, one Russian, a Cuban double agent and my pay masters. Checks and balances. Nobody is watching anybody watching nobody. You know what I mean? Go." The agents he mentioned are the ones you have to kill and, in turn, the player infers that the 'friend' of Officer Cantor in the last mission is Mike Toreno himself.
