Sunrise Driver
I won't say goodbye, cause I don't have consoles and I like GTASA. It'll be my one of the best even after GTA4 release.
poopskin
just open land with nothin happenin so i wont miss that to much That was actually what made SA Fun, being able to see multiple environments, ranging from the typical urban sprawl to the vast dessert to the peaceful countryside...Plus, the real world is like that (lots of open land) too. and just city gets boring after a while. And i'm sticking with SA Because... 1. Don't have any money for IV 2. It was the first GTA i could sort of "Get Into". something about how R* North made the game...Made the entire world feel alive and realistic. And i don't like how there are still loose ends in the ]|[ Cannon. Edited April 26, 2008 by poopskin

devilrock28
I think I've changed my mind. San Andreas got boring after an hour or two of playing time. The good thing is that Liberty City won't have a countryside and desert. (Although the desert was pretty fun to explore in San Andreas.) I think I will play IV for a long time. It looks like it will have a good 4 years or so to play around with the realistic gameplay. Agreed a million times.GTA IV will be stupid with no rural terrain, except that small little park Well, the third island (Forgot the name. I believe it's the one based on New Jersey.) is a little bit suburban. It's not really rural but it's an escape from the city. Mince
I'm not leaving San Andreas. I probably won't be bying a PS3 anytime soon, so for now GTA 3 and it's succedors will do fine.
Wanted Assailant
Saying that GTA IV isn't going to live up to the hype is completely idiotic. I mean, IGN gave it a 10 a 10. They just don't give away tens like that. So f*cking what if they gave them 10 out of 10. Like they are the boss of me to tell me what games do I like IGN is highly biased, you can't say just because they gave it a 10 out of 10 that it's the best. Gamespot is a bit good and harsh with it's reviews. The only 10 star rating GS had given was Zelda Ocarina of Time.

ExTreMzoR
Personally. I will NEVER say goodbye to san andreas. It was one of the best games ever made, PLUS the sa mp multiplayer was fun too. You could even get up to 500 players on it too (if 0.2.5 ever comes out). But If I had lots of cash. I would buy gta 4 on a console if it never came out on pc. But for now, I will wait till it comes to pc.

The desert was alright to an extent in San Andreas (except with the open desert which was horrible) but the countryside was completely out of it. Flint County had a sever lack of roads and there was nothing to do there. I don't see the big fuss about it.

All that's there is some trees, rivers, deserted cabins, ponds, and other crap. The desert was just sand. Too much sand. Although at times it was fun. gtamodder
I agree too. The desert was pretty fun, especially for chases on the sanchez, Imo, and I agree about the Countryside.
Bad~Boy#17
The countryside made the game (for me). There was so much to explore, so many roads, so many trees, so many square meters of fun with a Bandito ...

So you liked driving around a deserted wasteland? Erh, it was okay for flipping the Infernus down hills and off Mt. Chiliad. That's the only good thing I can say about the Countryside. The Countryside was a little bit scary at night. It's like you felt something was going to pop out at you. Especially in the Panopticon and in Back O' Beyond. It was just to damn foggy in the Country. EDIT: I have to agree with you on one point though, it was fun to explore.

So you liked driving around a deserted wasteland? It's great fun and even more if your on K-DST I always forget to change to K-DST (The best radio station in GTA.) when I'm driving in the Countryside. I guess it's because every car I jack has K-Rose blasting in it. I guess I'm too lazy to change the channel. I'm usually speeding through the Country. I don't have a finger to take off of the button and risk crashing into a barricade and rolling down a hill into my ultimate death. Dude, that was a long sentence. lol
sananoutlaw
I won't stop playing san andreas anytime soon, like someone said earlier, I got it in 2005 and still play it a lot. I just love the sheer size of the map (not just that obviously). I'm not expecting gta4 to be better than san an (for me personally), but still know it's going to be an amazing game. Basically when I get gta4, I will play it a lot and am very excited about it, but will continue to play san andreas a lot too.
beast^-^
Long live GTA San Andreas! IV will NEVER beat San Andreas, so f*ck threads like this! And btw, i'm not saying this because i can't afford to buy a nextgen console to pay GTA IV. I actually have a PS3 and have preordered IV, but it will never ever beat GTA San Andreas! Rabia
You guys are all dumb.. Saying that GTA IV won't live up for it's hype.. Please. DO SOME RESEARCH. I love San Andreas, one of my favourite videogames but you guys have to accept that better is coming, and it might take SA's place. After a while, when you finish San Andreas 100% and been playing it since it came out.. it gets pretty boring. GTA IV is going to be more than what San Andreas was, play it, try it, I bet you'll fall in love with it.
xNamexTakenx
Well, SA is fairly new for me (I only played for the first time last year lol), so I don't think I'll be getting bored of it anytime soon. But, I really want GTA IV and I'm really hoping that it will live up to its hype. As for SA having countryside and badlands, I like it like that. It makes it more realistic. The new Liberty City is going to be all city and won't be as cool, IMO. But, I guess it makes sense since SA is a state and needs more than just cities. LC is just a city and it makes sense that it doesn't include rural areas, so don't take this personally anyone.
devilrock28
This is officially considered a 'Hot Topic'! Well, I'm starting to change my mind. IV sounds great and I've thought that for a while now. San Andreas got very boring after the storyline missions were finished. When IV comes out maybe I'll try what the stunting and drifting is like. Hopefully the new Liberty is a good environment to drift in. Nice turns, deserted streets and other stuff.
Algonquin Assassin
I just dont think running around the same city for the 3rd time is gonna be any fun. They should've generated a new city for the new canon and new era. It may ave better graphics but how is more detail gonna make gameplay any more fun. It's NOT the same city. Only thing that is the same, is the name. It's completely different to past Liberty Citys. Why people think it's just a add on to the last gen games, I'll never know. SA is still great, as is VC, and III. I'll still play them when I get over IV. After all the GTA III era games made the series.
The Kirbster
I agree too. The desert was pretty fun, especially for chases on the sanchez, Imo, and I agree about the Countryside. Ya, the Bone County was fun, but the Badlands and Red County was like boring, useless and just completely wasted. I never even drive in the forest nowadays, nothing fun there. Mt. Chiliad was great for stunting, but that was about it. I'm glad GTA IV's Liberty City will have no wasted space at all, and just make it feel like New York, even though the map is a bit smaller. Stefan.
You say that the Badlands were fun to explore? Try GTA IV's Liberty City. That'll take you a good year to memorise off by heart. I don't really mind the Badlands. It's repetitive, but when I haven't driven there in a long time, I just go along the freeway through it. Plus, I love Mount Chilliad, and have never gotten bored of stunting off that huge monstrosity. However, most of the time, if I'm going from Los Santos to San Fierro, I drive through the desert 'cause I think that the desert is just gangster. !!GC!!
And it'll be bigger than the whole SA state. LC > SA Its your opinion that it'll be better but i believe that SA is still far better. And saying that LC is gonna be bigger? You are an idiot. They have already said a million times that it isnt. I entirely agree with Bad~Boy, the Countryside and desert definetly made the game and it would be so unrealistic if it wasnt there. It isnt possible to drive around a whole state with crossing through countryside/desert areas. SA was perfectly well made and LC wont be as good. Im not saying it is gonna be entirely crap, though. @Stefan It wont take that long to memorise it, it is so much smaller than SA and even though it will have more streets, it will still be too small to be able to not memorise it. You guys have to admit that you will get bored of dull grey looking streets and high rise buildings at some point and will miss the massive collosus of Mt. Chiliad and the colourfilled countryside. Desert and Country just adds realism and varietly to the game instead of the same old repetitive streets of LC.
Bad~Boy#17
After a while, when you finish San Andreas 100% and been playing it since it came out.. it gets pretty boring. How can you say that. I've also been playing it for 4 years and I always find some new stuff like easter eggs, hidden corners in citys ... Or do stupid things like taking a lawnmover down the Cobra Run
psycs-x
I will never fully say goodbye to SA, sure when I get my PS3 (this year ) and buy GTAIV my SA play time will decrease but I will still play it. Yes I think SA is the best GTA that I'VE played but I have to admit destructable surroundings is pretty damn awesome, I've just always thought it was stupid when you'd hit a buildind with a rocket and there'd be no damage to the building (aside from scorched bricks which go away quickly). Tommy Dickfingers
Nope, im gonna stay with SA. I dont believe IV is gonna live up to its hype. I mean, its gonna have the best graphics of any game anywhere, but its just gonna be a bit boring. Liberty City....again. f*ck that. man thats pretty ignorant Cant you afford it or something I really dont see how that is ignorant. I hope you know the meaning of the word. And that is rather funny that you say i cannot afford it, because i have a PS3 and my family runs a nationwide chain of stores that generates an insane amount of money, so i have no problem whatsoever in the money area. I just dont think running around the same city for the 3rd time is gonna be any fun. They should've generated a new city for the new canon and new era. It may ave better graphics but how is more detail gonna make gameplay any more fun. Only the name is the same, the city is completely different, so they have developed a whole new city.
