GTRick
I highly doubt this is an actual list. The only two songs I see that I've heard in vids is 1979 by The Smashing Pumpkins, and The Who's The Seeker. Besides, if this is real, where's DJ Green Lantern's I'm So Fly? That's a song that's on the soundtrack as well.
Tystick357
man, if nickelback's in the game, i'm gonna be pissed Well some might like it, people's tastes in music are different. If you expect to love every song, you've got another thing coming.
SeriousSam
For metal heads MOURNING the LOSS of blood letting music in the game, bow down to this infernal track from the mighty S O D O M! This I'll make you happy....as a Satanist can be I guess I see your Sodom and raise you Death.... GORGOROTH!
libertycity_fiction
The WHO,the black crows, and LED ZEPPLIN now if Metallica and the doors were in there I would cream my pants. I hope there isnt panic at the disco f*cking sh*tty band.
Slamman
What Zep? I know the BLACK CROWES another one that I own, all their elbums but the latest so far. I was on YouTube getting music when I stumbled on a non removed gameplay GTA 4 scene, man it is SO freakin cool I'm glad I spoiled it for myself because I had to get a feel for actual gameplay. The HUD blinks in red when you're surrounded... BTW!
KGBosh
Thank the good lord that Nickelback isn't in this game. They're the worst band in the last five years, and the fact that they're big in the states astounds me. It seems like it's the 35 year old "out of touch" crowd that listens to this sh*t, and thinks it's cool. But it's not. It's god-awful, the worst that rock has to offer. A bunch of f*ckin douchebags with instruments. I was so pissed when I hear they were in it, because Rockstar said they didn't include your own mp3 station because they got the music just right... Nickelback are a clusterf*ck of fail. Wish Artic Monkeys were in the game though... and the Fratellis. That'd be sweet. Ahh and some Sublime... JamesEarlCash
L.C.H.C. is hardcore and punk. Punk of British origin being fundamental to the development of american hardcore in the mid 80's. "Holidays in the Sun" was confirmed last month or so by some NYC DJ guy who claims to be part of the project. It is relevant to the game because of the lyrical content about post communist europe from a UK perspective. Also because NYC & UK are both intrinsically interchangeably part of the punk era of the late 1970's: both regions artists were direct influences upon the other, and they collectively gave birth to the same music genre (cross-pollination of sorts); which became a cultural identity which still resonates strongly as part of NYC pop culture lexicon. Rockstar Games clearly identifies with the NYC/UK aspect of punk and the embodiment of this song in particular.
Slamman
Most of those LCHC bands up there aren't the ones we picked earlier, and there was a good concensus on those choices, I think. Bad Brains/Ramones.... any classic CBGBs artists. CroMags and Agnostic Front,GBH, Dead Boys, Jane's Addiction (Pigs in Zen!!!!) Oh, and any clip under an hour on YT seems to not have been pulled by, well, you know. I only saw two leaked clips, very short and fuzzy stuff. Doesn't spoil much by that fact
JamesEarlCash
Jane's Addiction (Pigs in Zen!!!!) Jane's weren't part of punk or hardcore but Perry is from NY so it's possible. Radio Broker FTW!

Slamman
Most recently Canadian rock legends RUSH covered The Seeker on their tour and DVDs. Now with Snakes and Arrows tour coming across the Midwest USA, I get to see 'em again. Regarding The Who, I am VERY very very happy with that selection and if Pink Floyd turns out to be false, I will LITERALLY cry, it will not be a pretty sight. It never is. Jane's Addiction was thrown in my list because to me they weren't metal, they weren't new wave, they really had a punk aspect to them but I love how they evolved. Their debut is amazing and then Nothing's Shocking,... Seminal!!!! Edited April 24, 2008 by Slamman
LongDarkBlues
There is no way Avenged Sevenfold is on the same station as Liars and LCD Soundsystem. At least the Nickelback entry is gone - why haven't they locked that page yet?

T.I.P.
I'm basing my opinion on everything I've ever heard from them, be it new or old. Say I have a bad taste in music all you want, but the fact of the matter is they suck. Hell, I hate all bands that even sound like them. You are not going to change my mind about that. I'm not saying you have poor taste in music, I'm just saying that you aren't in a position to say that they suck since you haven't heard their most recent work, which isn't anything like their previous CD. And @ HellZ or whoever said FOB's "Beat It" cover was terrible - I'm going to not go out on a limb at all and say that none of your favorite bands have vocalists that could pull that song off half as well as he did. voteneg
There is Bob Seger-Her Strut on the Classic Rock station. It's not listed on wikipedia. I've been watching a saved broadcast of like a few hours of gta gameplay and that song was being played. I'll keep listening and report back if I find anything else I recognize. For those of you familiar with the live feed from "Sculay" earlier today... the song is played around 12:13AM London Time on the 24th. So you can surf through his archives and find the time block that has this time in it. I'd post a link... but those big red bolded letters at the top of the page look pretty serious. Or you can look at "Sculay's" video highlights and see that I've added it as a fan favorite. EDIT: I've added the song to the wikipage with a reference link for proof. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_IV_soundtrack Edited April 24, 2008 by voteneg

Sunrise Driver
People, check out the Wiki. You'll see a song by The Whispers "And The Beats Go On" on The Vibe 98.8. This song WAS in Vice City on Fever 105! WTF. I thought R* wouldn't repeat songs in their future GTA games.

Additional tracks as dlc every few months would rock (hopefully literally if you catch my drift.) But then again I think that may be expensive licensing wise, perhaps they may need to charge for it... or maybe not. I'm just thinking about whats a smart business decision. haribo
Are people just inventing the music for Tuff Gong? I know Bob Marley's confirmed, but Eddy Grant, UB40 and Musical Youth seem suspicious as they're the only non-Marley reggae I know

The debate rages... It's what you get for asking for modern music only in a modern setting. Modern music bites donkey dung. Actually... Black Crowes is a major breath of fresh air in the more modern era of new bands. I still haven't heard the arctic Monkeys... But most of my favorite new music is from old bands, or metal bands, oddly enough. If you were to wager, what song was the most trouble or most expensive for Rockstar to license??! I'd say Pink Floyd, myself, and god bless 'em they got it!
