irishlad Posted April 23, 2008 Share Posted April 23, 2008 (edited) I simply can not understand how OXM could score Halo3, Mass Effect, Bioshock and Fight Night a 10/10 and somehow come to the conclusion that GTA4 deserves a 9.5/10? If 10/10 means the perfect game then how the f*ck did any of the above title's earn a 10/10?? After playing through Bioshock i would struggle to give it 9/10. That game is extremely overrated. Halo3 a 10/10 ?? nothing innovotive same old sh*t. Then we have the bug and glich riddled mass effect with a terrible combat system and gets 10/10?? It is an injustice then to not score GTA4 with everything i have read so far(extremely good previews/reviews) a 10/10. Does anybody agree with me here? Are these reviewer's on drugs? Halo3, Mass Effect, Bioshock and Fight Night are all exclusive to Xbox 360 and are also published and associated with Microsoft so this obviously explains these rediculous inaccurate reviews! But still come on? how can Fight Night get a higher review score??? I dont know what OXM's policy's and procedures for reviewing are, but the simple fact that the title's i have named scored 10/10 and GTA4 did not is absolutely atrocious and does not make any sense! Halo 3 isnt perfect but still its enjoyable(for a while) and it was refreshing, new ideas, Bioshock, not perfect but it had invigorated the FPS genre by adding great story telling, graphics and gameplay. It deserves a 9/10 also. So while OXM has over-rated some of these games. For the most part they arent lying when they say its a great game. BUT This is only my opinion. Bioshock; at most 7.7/10 Bioshock is my favorite game so far this gen. Im sure GTA IV will surpass that, but for right now its my favorite. I give it a 10/10. You got to remember it is OXM, and Halo, Bioshock, and Mass Effect were all Xbox 360 exclusives. That is a big reason for the 10/10. They need to acclaim those exclusives. I would give Halo 3 0/10. i would have given halo 3 a -10 out of 10...its all about personal preference, I know this because vice city was horrible when it comes to graphics/bugs but that didnt stop mags from giving it a perfect 10/10. joshkinny Posted April 23, 2008 Share Posted April 23, 2008 no game ever deserves a 10/10 thats whats really annoying me how can people give games 10/10 nothing against gta4 or anything but it doesnt do nothing new either it just everything thats already been done but with a hell of alot of detail. so your saying you should give gta4 10/10, so what happens when the next one comes out, give that 10/10 too? no games perfect. reviewers really need to start being a hell of alot harsher, otherwise we'll just end up with games that dont progress e.g pro evolution, since that game was concieved it was highly regarderd as perfect from the start, thats why konami have just left it and focused on graphics. Anyway, i only pay attention to IGN's reviews as they are not biased in any way. If this game gets 9.5 or above from IGN then we are in for a treat. Fingers crossed. Just because it's an opinion with influence doesn't make it more than an opinion. And it's a GOOD opinion at that, you think anyone is gonna look at OXM and see that GTA4 got a 9.5 and say "well forget that, I only play 10s."
