buletprufjoe
Okay my parents are looking for a car to get me as I will be driving soon. They want me to get a truck that is a maximum of about $15,000 (or lower) and I want to be able to have at least five seats. I have looked around but I'm still not sure. Any suggestions? lurchseesu420
I've never seen a truck that couldn't seat 5 because they all have beds to put junk and people in. An S10 or Ranger is probably your best bet.
EvilPenguin
Look into Subaru station wagons. They'll fit five people, are reliable, not too bad on the gas, have AWD, and as a bonus are FUN TO DRIVE. Also, the station wagon's space will be so immensely useful after high school when you start moving around. More so than, I think, a truck. Yippy. Just don't be a twat and put some mad tyte body kitz on it. But if you must have a truck and you want to fit five people, you'll need an extended cab. Small trucks to look into: Toyota Tacoma (in V6 and I4 flavors) Chevy S10 Ford Ranger An alternative might be a Jeep. Look for a Cherokee with the 4.0l I6. That engine will outlive all of mankind. Suction Testicle Man
Do you actually need a truck, or do your parents want to make sure that if you have an accident, you kill everyone except yourself? Can't actually help you with the truck choice though, my knowledge of the US car market is limited. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated. 3niX
Well... Since the suggestions are nearing the SUV territory then Id recommend a Toyota Land Cruiser. Id also recommend a Subaru Outback (my brother has one). However, considering you want a truck (which we dont really have in spades around here) I can recommend only one... a Ford Ranger. anus
I have a question. For $15,000 he can get a BRAND NEW decent truck over there in the US right? I mean brand new, straight from the showroom. Sorry if it's a stupid question, I don't know much about the international markets .

I mean brand new, straight from the showroom. Sorry if it's a stupid question, I don't know much about the international markets . Only a base Ranger and maybe a base Colorado or Dakota. And also any of the trucks that share a platform with them. Anything else is going to be over that.
*MURDOC*
Since trucks became the "cool" thing to have, their prices here have skyrocketed immensely.

lurchseesu420
I hasn't even said if he wants to by new or used. He can get nearly any used 5 seater pickup for under 15K.
*MURDOC*
No trucks that seat 5 people cost around $15,000. Not new ones. But there are thousands that can be had for really cheap. My pickup cost almost exactly $15,000 and its a '94, but thats because of what it is. They didnt make many of them. Plus its been babied. lurchseesu420
Get a Subaru BRAT! It's only the coolest truck of the 20th century. Gets decent gas mileage. Has an available T-top option. And best of all it's a 5 seater (I think? It might be a 4 seater). Sexy T-top. Check out those back seats. It even has grab handles instead of seat belts. That's how it came from the factory! That just screams safety! That's f*cking awesome. When I die, I hope it's in the back seat of a BRAT!
stingray.
Get a used Subaru Baja.
lurchseesu420
Get a used Subaru Baja. Bajas are cool, but they just can't touch the BRAT when it comes to sheer baddassery. Only a real badass manufacturer like Subaru would make a car like that with complete disregard for rear passenger safety. But I'd still love to have one. *MURDOC*
You can pretend your wearing a rocketpack when you ride in the back of a Brat. Whooooosh!!!!!!!!!
chris cambo
Get an escalade, all the cool kids have them I dont see why you cant just buy a nice 5 series BMW from the 90's for about 5 grand then you have a whole 10 grand to insure, tax and get your vehicle properly checked out, any damage or things in need of repair can be done with your remaining 10g What you should get
lurchseesu420
You can pretend your wearing a rocketpack when you ride in the back of a Brat. Whooooosh!!!!!!!!! The BRAT needs a seatbelt slogan. Something like, "Be safe! Grab your handles!" instead of "Be safe! Buckle up!" Or something like that. lurchseesu420
"Here at Subaru, we put the "OH sh*t" in the "oh sh*t handles". That's a good one. Just imagine getting in the wreck in one of those. The passengers in the back seat would be found 50 feet down the road.
*MURDOC*
Possibly still in their seats, holding those handles. Decapitated.

XN22
OP, do you do any work that would require a truck, off-road, or anything of that nature? If not, don't get a f*cking truck.

If you get a truck just to have a truck, it makes you look like a tool. No point in having one if you don't use it.

Nothing wrong with driving a Hummer (H1) as a DD as long as you wheel it on the weekends.
