I dont know for sure if EVERY car trunk can be opened manually but the interview makes it seem like there will be ALOT of occasions where you will be using the trunk. They all could be missions tho. Evidence of trunk use from different occasions: - Theres a screen where Niko and Packie are looking into a trunk thats glowing red from inside. - Theres also another screen where Niko is looking at a body thats in a trunk. - We'll be able to access Lil Jacobs trunk to get weapons. - I read a preview where a guy said he had to stop and close the trunk that had a body in it bcuz the lid was flapping. Also it is official that you can close the trunk in one mission in which you drive a body somewhere and the trunk constantly pops open. You are required to get out and close it so the police do not see the body. The trunk won't close tightly, so they said you have to jump out and close it sometimes after going over a bump or hitting a car because you don't want people to see. Something like that.
