VertcaLx
I am not 100% sure on Sony (Doesn't mean you can play before April 29th with a PSN)... - Let us know your Gamertag, if the answer to the above is Xbox 360 or your PSN On Line ID if the answer is PS3. wutangblade
I've been thinking about this lately, even if you don't play it On-line if you unlock an achievement before the 29th you're pretty much f*cked too
josh995
I don't believe this is real. That doesn't sound like Rockstars choice vocabulary, as they've used in the past, and also, they wouldn't say "till" they'd say "until." And there are more. I'd also be more willing to believe it if there weren't people saying, "I haven't received this."

soleil
When Halo 3's release was getting near, there was a report about Microsoft banning people who played Halo 3 early. Then it turned out to be false.

husky-mx
Go round a mates house and play it while he's away. lol yea good idea.. always fun to get your friends banned from xbox live! but i doubt its true, just seems like a bit of an extreme step, for a not so big offence.. fair enough if they were posting gameplay footage but not if they are just playin early! DDR Midian
I've played pretty much every AAA game on the 360 anything up to three days before release, and they don't mind at all.

It hints that they have a "White list" of allowed users - the general public will not be on this list, so go online early at your own risk. alexmac9
you cant get banned for playing a game early.... (hello J WHEAZY! remember me from utube/xbl?) damn right - what about those who have to review gta. OT - FROM PAST EXPERIENCE ppl did get banned for halo3 - but were soon unbanned from that its clear to me that while they got most legitimately, there were some they banned that shudnt have been so MS can obviously not 100% tell whether u have the game legitimately early or not THEREFORE no bans. Uglulyx
They just are asking that you make it private until the 29th as to not give away anything. I'm assumeing it's a site where you can order it early.
alexmac9
fair enough i have to admit i hadnt read it before posting. however after reading As the mail says, a document was attached which details how to change Xbox 360’s privacy settings for every Gamertag to be used to play the game online before April 29. We’re not going to publish it for obvious reasons. err.... something doesn't quite add up there, I'm 98% sure this isn't possible. I agree with whoever originally said the email isn't real. It's certainly not worded professionally enough, this next quote doesn't make sense logically to me based on what they're saying about Xbox versions. PS3 Version There are no privacy settings that can be set on the PS3 but we will still be tracking who is going on line so again it will make it easier for us to identify you as a genuine user if we have your ID. Isn't the point that they need to create a white list of ID's that are legit? If so why did they word the ps3 bit like that. The *privacy settings* issue is secondary to them getting the white list.
