Crab Tactics Posted April 22, 2008 Share Posted April 22, 2008 Hi, I preordered my Xbox 360 Special Edition on the 6th of April with play.com. What I am looking for therefore now, is people in a similar predicament; * People who have alsp preordered with game * Stories about Play.com's effeciency with dispatching big title games on time so they get to you on the release date * Anyone who works at Play.com or knows someone (genuinely) who works there As at the moment, I have heard nothing about them getting stock in, and they have to dispatch by tomorrow (max 5 day delivery), so that it gets here on Tuesday. Also Play.com have a very good reputation for getting releases on the day or day before. I have gone with gameplay.co.uk this time, but in the past play have never let me down. giftedunlimited Posted April 22, 2008 Share Posted April 22, 2008 I pre-ordered the standard 360 edition on the 12th and i was a bricking it thinking i might not get it so i rang them (21/4) and they told me that they still had 360 copies left (sold out ps3) and they 'would be making every effort to dispatch the the game so it is delivered by the release date.' In the past they have been good, so fingers crossed. The website is saying that they have sold out now though but anyone who ordered a while back should be fine. Tney've never let me down and have fast delivery, sometimes two days after i click buy, and i also recieved Halo 3 the day of release. nyaren Posted April 22, 2008 Share Posted April 22, 2008 I've placed 108 orders with Play and I've only been let down with pre-orders twice and once with a damaged item. They were shocking with the Xbox 360 launch, not shipping orders on a first come, first served basis (people who ordered long before me didn't get their orders until weeks after I did). I can't see them making the same mistake twice. They tend to use second class postage, which is the main reason it takes so long to receive anything (and why they tend to ship a day earlier than most people). For the special edition, I think they're likely to use Parcel Force/Royal Mail Special Delivery, which will always be delivered next day. It's even possible that they will ship from the mainland, as they do with quite a few items. I'm fairly confident those who ordered early with Play will be fine.
